Hey guys. I'm going to be felting soap pretty soon. I remember reading that you can needle felt soap by poking the needing into the wool and soap...just like regular needle felting. But I've also read that you should wet-felt the wool.
Which is the better method? |

Hmm, I know nothing about that, but now I'm inspired to go and read up on it. Sounds like a neat end product.
I'm assuming you mean making felt covered soap bars - in which case it will depend on the soap you're using, You don't want to try needle felting a bar that's going to break up from having the needles punched into it! But I guess it'll work with a soft soap - where the wet felt method (wrap the bar in fleece and then stick it inside a length of bubble wrap or panty hose ...) might use up more of the soap than you want to lose!
Personally, I'd probably wet felt - I think I'd have more control that way. But, if you have some hand punch needles, why not give both methods a try?
