I'm afraid that I let this community slide lately, but that potholder prompt got a story coming, which is good :) I will make an effort to post some prompts and be around more, and the story should be done today.

(dances happily)

More fic, more prompts...both excellent things! I can't wait!

I'm cross stitching. And not writing, though I have plenty of ideas in my head.

Hee! We're opposites ATM. I'm not doing any needlework, but I'm writing like crazy. Who knows, someday I may actually finish something. Probably my first Due South fic that I'm working on right now.

I'm currently ... knitting a jumper for a friend for christmas, embroidering a box for the Guild competition at the Xmas meet, playing with stencils, a heat gun and Lutrador, making silk paper from cocoon strippings, cutting out fabric stars for applique, finishing off the fabric bowl I've just made, peparing for a braiding workshop I've been asked to run in the new year, and practicing with my Kalidescope software so I can print unique panels for a new quilt project. And that's just this week ...

I'm also working on at least three long stories (as well as some short ones), in between creating manips and icons, transcribing the interviews I've done for my doctoral research, and finding time to read papers and prepare presentations for the national policy board I've just been appointed to.

You did ask! *g*

(I really must make myself a 'busy, busy, busy' icon ...)

I've a week off work next week. I might get some more writing done then!

Wow. You're putting us all to shame. I stand in awe and collapse in exhaustion just looking at your list.

You'll have to give us some run downs on how some of these projects are accomplished...and of course share fic when you have some done.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need a lie-down.

I think my brain may be set to 'multi-task' as a default ...

I don't have a TV at my weekday flat, so there's not much to distract me - and I sew when watching DVDs on the PC, because I like to keep my hands busy.

More than happy to share actual project details, if people are interested. (The fibre and fic stuff, not the research - that'd bore everyone to tears ... :-) )

Oh - and in regard to this community, I'd still like to see some others tackle my 'quilting block' challenge and produce some drabbles. :-)

I'd also be happy to see new challenges, and maybe some fibre art inspired plot discussions ... Who, among your fandom's characters, do you think might be able to knit for instance? What do you think they should knit, and for whom?

Hmm ...

{Wanders away pondering plot where Buffy tries to knit Giles a scarf. (Or possibly a pair of socks ...)}

I'm obviously way too busy to pay attention to what I'm posting ... Apologies for the posting deja-vu!

I think we've all made that goof at some time or another. No worries.

Having been reminded of your quilting block challenge, I'm eyeing it...especially now that I've been hit with the Due South bug. Somehow a mountie just needs a quilt, I think.

Want to start a fiber art inspired plot discussion? Or would you prefer someone else to start that ball rolling?

(eggs you on at having Buffy do a bit of knitting)

Oh yes, a mountie definitely needs a quilt - even if it's only to keep his wolf warm ... :-)

I'll give some thought to possible plot discussions - although equally happy if someone else come up with a discussion topic while I'm pondering!
