Hey guys! 

I just joined this community. After about two years out of the game, I'm very excited to say that I'm ready to take the plunge into the game once again.

It's good to know that some of the things that frustrated me the most (the difficulty of grouping) have been tweaked lately so that I won't have to wait hours before finding a group. -_-'

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to start all over again because I can't find my account information anywhere.

Oh well. At any rate, I think this time I want to start with a good link shell group so that I'll have support and help there when I need it while I learn the game all over again.

Any advice on how to find one in the game? I'm shy online like I am in real life, and posting "Looking for Linkshell group" in public seems rather forward. XD

Having spent a good amount of time fishing for a respectable haul of Gugrusaurus I decided to pack it up once I had 18 of them.

Once I had arrived in Selbina I walked up to where Zaldon spends his days. He saw me approach and ended his idle chatter with a fellow fisher who had just handed in his haul, to no avail.

Zaldon : Well hello, Brian. Come to have me check through some Gugrusaurus as usual?

Brian : Yes. But I fear I'll not see the Saber Shoot anytime soon.

The sea worn Galka spoke as he worked with the great fish I handed him.

Zaldon : Don't get discouraged you never know when you'll find it. Remember how surprised you were to see the Opal Silk?

For a second I though I saw that same glint in his eye but it passed too quickly to be sure...

Zaldon : As a matter of fact I'll bet you'll be just as surprised when I hand you the Saber Shoot. Here you are, Brian. Congratulations.

Brian : What? You found it!

Zaldon : Aye, indeed I did.

He spoke as he handed me a branch of seemingly featherweight wood. I couldn't tell if it was actually that light or if it was my relief and elation. As I stared and studied the smooth, supple branch I drifted off with thoughts of the gil I would be able to haul in. Zaldon broke my trance when he spoke.

Zaldon : What number was this one by the way?

Brian : That one is number 341.

I bowed to Zaldon as I left with my prize. I knew where to go now.

After picking up the Opal Silk from my Moghouse in Bastok I teleported myself to the Eastern Altepa Desert. I needed to head to Rabao and speak with Irmilant.

As I approached Irmilant the feelings of suspense nearly overwhelmed me. I tried my best to remain composed as I greeted him.

Brian : Hello, Irmilant. I have brought you the Opal Silk and the Saber Shoot. Here you are.

Irmilant : Incredible... This is a feat worthy of the greatest anglers in history. Leave these in my care. Come to me again when the sun has passed through her cycle and you will be the first to witness an unbreakable spirit.

Brian : Very well. I will return.

With levelsync now, is there ANY BLOODY REASON to KEEP all these TERRIBLE things?
I cant take having them anymore. Can I toss them....?!?! I know I cant get them back, I dont care really, I'll just sync some PoS item down or whatever if I REALLY need it that bad, but even BEFORE level sync, I never used them...

Please tell me if there's any reason I should keep them D: Otherwise, Im making a ton of space in my storage tonight. >.>

CoP dynamis has been pretty crazy since the AF+ patch but last night in particular was pretty special.

Ok, so I have an Xbox issue that has been haunting me ever since I bought Fail-box. I remember way back when, when we were getting those stupid error messages that it wouldn't read the disc and we had to reformat the HD and then redownload POL and FFXI onto the HD. Every so often (has to be at least a month or so) I still get that message and I have to do it all over again. Has anybody heard anything on this issue?

On an unrelated note, also last week my wife went fishing. It was perfect fishing conditions...Full Moon, at night time. Through that whole night, all she caught was monsters, and whatever else but fish. Anyone have any take on that as well? I think she was on the boat to Mhaura.

When is Black Halo better, or more desirable, than Hexa Strike?

I recently discovered that TP Bonus only works with main handed weapons. Silly me. What else do I need to know? I'm aware that generally, I want the weapon with the highest damage in my primary, but also generally want the weapon with the lowest delay in my secondary... although even this seems to be situational. What other traits only work on a main-handed weapon?

I'm currently using a Daea Gratia and a Martial Wand; if I replaced the Martial with a Purgatory Mace, would one of the two additional effects drown out the other? Which is to say, if I were going Purgatory/Deaa would I lose either Stun or Drain?

The more I learn, the more I learn I need to learn. :x

I am looking to enhancce my wardrobe for my RDM. I want one set to melee/nuke in when I farm and one to where for parties, dynamis, etc. I'm currently level 69. I am looking up on my own as well, but I wanted everyone's opinion on what I should get. Mind you I'm limited to certain areas in Vana'diel due to some missions and zones not completed.

So far I found couple of items of interest: The Faerie Hairpin and Forest Rope.

I do consider the accessories as part of gear so please suggest.

I do not have access to Quifim, Dunes, et al Dyanamis Zones until I get past mission 3-2 of COP. I'm working on it though. I'm in middle of 2-3.

So without that I can't get to Dynamis Tavnazia. I have 4/4 of the home nations for Dynamis and I have yet able to get a drop. First because I didn't have enough points to lot then we just didn't get any drops. Now I have enough.

I greatly appreciate all your help.

Chrystina is now back on the game. I'm very happy that she's back and not perma banned over that situation. Thought I'd update lol :P since it was pretty ridiculous.

I had a friend on Unicorn, and decided to make a mule to get away from Fairy for a bit when things are slow. I'm Rinthonwen, and my husband is Sulimon. We're currently doing FoV together, and we're level 5. Say hi if you see us.

We're also still on Fairy. Feyna and Sulmorko, if anyone wants to say hi. We've got our own LS, in addition to the couple we're also on, called FightingDreamers, if anyone's interested.

My main problem seems to be finding players who actually can do their jobs right *sigh*

Seems that SE are going crazy again..

'A new thread has recently emerged on the Allakhazam forums regarding the banning of players who reportedly were “involved in RMT activity.” Multiple players caught in this recent round of bannings have stated that they have no idea what they are guilty of. The only reason these players could come up with as to why their accounts were banned, was that they had multiple mules/accounts used for gardening, something that players have been doing without issues for years. Many players have joined in the discussion, claiming that they too, have been banned within the past few days. When calling up customer service to ask exactly why they were banned, they were told that they were banned for RMT activities.

The focus of these gardeners, is to create multiple accounts or characters to grow plants, and harvest their procurements. There is no level restriction to gardening, and it is relatively cheap. The need for multiple characters/accounts is attributed to the restriction that one in game character can only have ten flowerpots. These players would sell their harvests to nearby NPC’s, and then send the profits to their main character. Perhaps these large amounts of gil obtained through selling items to NPC’s and then sent to a single character are raising a red flag with Square Enix’s automated systems?'

I've been with my LS for at least two years, I've never missed an event, I gear myself up properly on the jobs I have available to myself. I'm very good at my jobs and I've never had a complaint against me on how I played. But lately, I've started to notice that every event my LS does and if I'm on RDM I get tossed in the BLM party as a refresh whore. Whilst this other RDM who I know for a fact that they can't gear themselves to get out of a paper bag gets designated with being the main tank party RDM or main DD healing RDM. And if you ever check that person's gear it makes you sit back and go "WTF is wrong with this?" and yet she gets away with nuking during events on her RDM and letting a few of her members die.

And I sit here and wonder to myself, why it happens. I am always early to events, ready to change to whatever job I'm needed in hopes that I can put my Pink Mage to actual use and pray that "Please god not the BLM party again". I'm not saying being in the BLM party is beneath me, it is just plain boring having to sit there and refresh, refresh refresh etc. When it usually happens, I would tab around and cap the HP off of anyone that I target and is below 70% HP, or I'll randomly haste people too.  But majority of the time, I'm the designated refresh whore.

I remember last week at Dynamis, I tried to make sure that other RDM gets to be the BLM's refresh whore and she apparently made a complaint saying "Oh its because they don't trust my RDM capabilities." Then the LS lead told her to change to DRK and she got out of it. I've never ever seen her having to refresh the BLM's ever. Not for the two years in the LS.  Is it because the LS lead is playing favorites? Or is it because they're blinded to the abilities of the other RDM's in the shell and place her on a pedestal in her full timing Morg body glory?

Last night I watched the thing I've wanted the most in my history of playing go to this other RDM. While yes, I was out lotted it still felt like watching something you cherish end up in the garbage.


Has this happened to anyone? And how did you handle it? I'm at loss on what to do because other then the problem I'm having I enjoy being in this LS. Should I say something about the favoritism? Try making a point to show off how much better I can be? I honestly don't know.  I want to be able to use my RDM to the fullest of my abilities. And not be tossed aside to do something less.
