A community for players of FFXI who want serious discussion with a minimum of stupidity. New players to the game are also welcome here for expert advice from veteran players.
RULES:
1. Any posts that could cause a serious disruption of a friend's page, contain spoilers, large images, or other content that does not necessarily need to be seen by the majority community MUST be put behind an LJ-cut! This is not an option. Embedding sound files is grounds for being shot -- some people check communities from work, after all.
2. No flame wars, flaming, insulting, or other childish and stupid behavior. This isn't WoW. FFXI players are, on the whole, a mature lot, and this community should reflect that.
3. Keep elitism to a minimum. Yes, there is OMGWTFUBERLEET gear that many people should strive for, but not having the absolutely best does not make you a bad player. Not everyone has the time to farm up millions of gil on a weekly basis; not everyone has the low standards of morals needed to buy gil, either. Also, no bashing of jobs (lolPUP) without specific evidence of player inferiority in the form of screencaps.
4. Advertisements or solicitations for gil or third party programs that violate the TOS will automatically be deleted. Discussion of third party programs and the ethics of their use is allowed, but beware that SE could be watching so if you want someplace safe to discuss upgrades to POShack, this isn't it.
5. Profanity is allowed in moderation. Pornography is not (not even FFXI related hentai doujinshi.) Although everyone who plays FFXI should technically be over the age of 13, there are some younger players out there too! Please post your smut elsewhere.
6. No racism, homophobia, or other discimination will be tolerated. This is a video game; it should be regarded as an even playing field for everyone. This includes serious discrimination against ingame races as well (lolTaru.)
6. In summary, don't be a noob. This is the advanced community, after all!
WHAT THIS COMMUNITY IS REALLY FOR:
- Discussions of mid to end game, such as HNM, Dynamis, Zilart, CoP, and TOAU fights
- Discussions of jobs, subjobs, equipment, etc. Requests for advice openly embraced. Take all advice with a grain of salt, as there is no one guaranteed right way to do anything.
- Rants from encounters with bad players, the dunes, or other general idiocy. Expect arguments from these posts. Don't do anything that will land us on OTF_Wank.
- Fanart, fanfiction, and other media related to the game that you want to share. LJ-cut appropriately.
- Anything else related to FFXI. Latest accomplishments, technical help questions, etc.
