Challenge 14: What's My Name?

Ever have that problem where you meet someone at a party and you're supposed to know their name, but you don't? I saw a reality television show where they connected names with images - so this week, you will have provided images in order to familiarize yourself with FF7 characters! You may pick any of these images to make your icon, and there are no other limitations.

Challenge 13: Doing the Latest Rag

What's the latest fad in your city? Whether it's fashion, music, or even the party entertainment, most everything is fad-dependent. Your icon this week must utilize an icon trend and make it pretty. For good examples, check out icon_tutorial. Trends can be anything - light blobs, grunge textures, the bird, magenta icons, blending, that checkered texture that's everywhere. If it's being abused right now, you can use it!

If you want to take a gamble, your trendy icon must be an icon of a character that placed in the last challenge (meaning Irvine, Agrias, Quistis, Seifer or Rosa). Challenge 12: My Best Friend

During the best and worst moments of a party, you look to your best friend to either bail you out or to go crazy right next to you. This week, you have to pick a character, any character, who you would most like to be best friends with and icon them in a flattering, positive way (no depressing icons, but they can be beautiful/funny/happy/positive!). Pretty easy and open-ended, there are no limitations! But your icon can only feature one character.

If you want to take a gamble, your icon of your best friend must use this texture by white_lilie, and ONLY that texture. You can use other techniques, but no other textures. If you make an icon that fits these specifications, you are put into a different voting table and are eligible for 700 gil. Everyone knows the biggest shindigs occur with three different types of milestones in the course of a lifetime - weddings, babies, and funerals. Your icon this week must feature a scene related to weddings, babies or funerals/death.

Are you up for a little gamble? There's a secondary aspect to this challenge. If you so choose (meaning it is not mandatory), you may adhere to slightly stricter guidelines for this challenge. If you want to take a gamble, your icon of weddings, babies and funerals must be entirely black and white with only one visible color. It must have one color other than black/white. If you make an icon that fits these specifications, you are put into a different voting table and are eligible for 700 gil. There will only be one winner of 700 gil, and if you make the gamble icon, you are not eligible for standard placing. Will you take the risk?

I am extremely sorry for the probable death of this community. Life interfered in a serious way, and I had no idea that I would lose interest and patience for this community in such an extreme way. I honestly have not had the time or the energy for the running of this community in the past month and a half, and I'm sorry for postponing this contest because of my problems.

We have three options for the fate of this community, so I'm putting it to a poll. I have the time now to continue, and I have five more challenges planned for the remainder of this round, so that this icontest can resume as planned and finish within the first week or so of February. Another option is to do a big blow-out final challenge to determine the winner - the values of gil earned would equate with five weeks of work, but you are only responsible for one more round of play. The last option is to end the contest now, meaning that current gil totals (after I tabulate them) would be the final results.
