Complaints, Questions, Corrections || Archive || Update or Change your Alias or Information || Addition for Users without LJ accounts

Fandom seems to be splintering across several journal services (LJ, IJ, GJ, Jfen) as well as other services (ff.net, ficwad, and so on). This isn't a statement about whether or not that's cool. This is - hopefully - a solution. [info]ff_fanlisting is an archive of Final Fantasy-based fandom fanficcers, fanartists, iconists, as well as just participants in fandom as a whole. It's a place where you can list everywhere you post anything, so that other authors/artists/fans can browse fandom and figure out where you are.

The archive will eventually spread into del.icio.us to keep better track of where, exactly, everyone is posting. For now, though, the archive works through LJ tags.

Here's all you have to do to be included:

Step 1: Fill out the Form and Post

SAMPLE FORM AND DIRECTIONS

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Name/Fandom Handle: - What are you best known by? For details about aliases, and choosing one, check here. If you go by a common name but have a fandom handle (a ff.net or livejournal account), we will give you a mixed tag, such as "! Mary Sue (iloveFF2089)".
Final Fantasy Fandoms: - List all fandoms for which you're active (meaning that you write, draw, make icons, discuss, read fic, or look at art in that fandom). If you've just played a game but aren't active in the fandom and don't plan on being active, don't list it.
Media: - What do you do/create? (fanfiction, fanart, icons, graphics, etc) If you rec fic/art, or you like to get involved in meta / discussion, add that here. Likewise, if you roleplay, here's the place to list it.

JOURNALS
- Label personal journals, writing journals, rec journals, fandom rant journals, etc! Let us know which journal contains which content, especially fandom content. This will help us archive you correctly in the del.icio.us database!
- Please DO NOT list individual RP journals; however, if you have a separate RP mun journal, you may add that. BE REASONABLE, people. Please.

For example:
Livejournal:
   - [URL] personal journal
   - [URL] fanfic journal
   - [URL] icon journal

List includes GreatestJournal, InsaneJournal, JournalFen, personal blogs / webspace

FANFICTION
List includes fanfiction.net, Ficwad, adultfanfiction.net, personal webspace; please add more!

FANART
List includes deviantArt, y!Gallery, personal webspace; please add more!

OTHER:
Any other internet space you may use; fictionpress.net and other accounts go here!

Copy/paste the form from here!

Step 2: Tag your Entry

All submissions must be tagged. Any that are not tagged will be issued a warning, and if not tagged within a day will be deleted. We're only the compilers, don't make our job suck. Tagging your submissions is super super important. Can't stress that enough.

NAME
Please note that you cannot add tags. You can only use the ones that currently exist. All the tags are here and on the sidebar. Don't worry about your name being on there, we'll add it.
Please try to keep your number of names/aliases short and reasonable. This is to help people find you, yes, so don't omit one that you might have used previously. At the same time we don't need 800 entries for one person in the database. Be fair to us!

PERSONAL INFORMATION
Tag as many categories as you can that describe yourself!
Remember that people will be searching using these tags, so if they don't really relate to you, don't tag yourself. For example, if you made an FF-related icon once but don't plan on doing it again, you're probably not an iconner.

fan:artist Do you draw fanart for Final Fantasy games? This can include sketching or comic-related things as long as (a) it's FF-based and (b) you do it (or plan to) regularly or repeatedly, not randomly or only once.
fan:cosplayer Do you cosplay, regularly, as Final Fantasy characters? Are you interested in cosplaying in the future?
fan:iconner Do you make Final Fantasy icons for sharing on journal sites?
fan:reader Do you enjoy taking in fanworks? This involves reading fanfic, looking at fanart, enjoying other fanworks, and discussing these works, both with reviews and in recommendations.
fan:roleplayer Do you roleplay in the Final Fantasy universe or with its characters often?
fan:scholar Do you like to discuss and meta about Final Fantasy and fandom as a whole? This is more than just talking about fanfic or fanart. If you like very in-depth discussions about the universe, the mechanics, or even just shipping, this is your tag.
fan:soundtrackerDo you put lists of songs together, maybe create covers for them? Do you put together songs that are "themes" and share them with people? If you like music and (legally) sharing it based on Final Fantasy in mixes then this is your tag.
fan:vidder Do you make fanvids for Final Fantasy games?
fan:writer Do you write fanfic for Final Fantasy games? This can include basically anything written (drabbles, novels, crack) as long as (a) it's FF-based and (b) you do it (or plan to) regularly or repeatedly, not randomly or only once.

FANDOMS AND FANWORKS
Tag only the fandoms you are ACTIVE in: that is, if you write/draw/rant about it, then that counts as active. Having played the game once does not count as active. If you WERE active in a fandom and simply want to link to old stuff, that counts too.

ORIGINAL WORKS
You may tag if you write/draw/etc original works in addition to fanworks. Some people might be interested. If you're not comfortable sharing the location of or existence of your original works, then don't tag it or list it. You don't have to, but it's nice. If ALL you do is original works and just lurk in fandoms, then this doesn't apply. You have to be or have been active at some point.

EDITING POSTS AND TAGS
If you edit your post or your tags (new journal, new username, new fandom), you need to notify us so that we can update the del.icio.us database. Head over here and follow the instructions on how to update.

Step 3: Browse and Enjoy

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Yes, you can create an entry for someone else! If there's an author you really like and want to keep track of, feel free to fill out a form for them, as well. One entity per LJ-entry, though. This will make the tags actually make sense.

As a corollary, if you've been included in this database and you'd rather not be, just drop a comment or an email and we will remove you.

CHANGING INFORMATION
Hey, sometimes people decide to change their handle / journal / whatever. That's cool! We'll be more than happy to update your entry. Keep in mind, however, that we'll be leaving your old information in as a record. So if you used to be known as "Silver070" and now you want to go around as "SuperFly", that's fine -- both names will be searchable in our final database.

If you need to change your information in any way, please head to this post and leave us a comment as per the directions.

SUBSCRIBING
Obviously, an easy way to do that is to friend this community. But if you don't have an LJ or want to get away from it, there's an RSS button on the front page. Don't know what RSS is? Here's a common sense easy language run-down.
