Have you ever read a Naruto fanfic you wanted to stick a kunai into?
Did it involve Sasuke singing his love to Naruto? Or Lee getting brutally raped and realizing half way through that he likes it? Or Kakashi dating Iruka even though you'd figured a ninja as socially repressed as he is might not actually date?
Yes? You've reached the right place, then. The Fanfiction Anbu is a group of dedicated Naruto fans who have noticed a recent trend in Naruto fanfiction: it's really, really bad.
So, what do we do here? Simple. We find a fic we think is awful and explain why it is. Reviews should be as follows:
1. Name of story, name of author, possibly the URL for the story.
2. Explanation of why the fic is bad. Note that all opinions should be justified. Don't just say "OMG sasusaku suxors." Instead, say "This SasuSaku fic sucks, and this is why."
Remember, we're not here to fic bitchnot all the time anyways. If this fic is god awful, we sure as hell are gonna give a logical explanation as to why.
Simple, yes? Yes. There are some other rules too, though:
1. We are all people. We all have opinions. Therefore, we will disagree, occasionally or even on a daily basis. Please keep all discussions civil, or if that is impossible take them out of the community. Nobody wants a flame war.
2. Please do not flame the authors of these fics, no matter how awful they are. Flaming does nothing except strengthen resistance to change.
3. That said, polite discussion of characterization/plot/pairings/etc. is perfectly fine. Just keep it civil, folks.
Another reminder: This community is reserved for posting reviews. If you wish to introduce yourself, please do so only if you have a review to post along with it.
That's about it. Not a good writer, or not a writer at all? No worries. The main thing is to enjoy the Naruto cannon enough to not want to see it mangled beyond recognition.
If you plan on joining anbu, PLEASE participate in one way or another. I’m not saying comment to every single thing, and write a review each week. But even a comment every now and then saying "Dear god that was AWFUL" is a good sigh.
