Round Four [09 Jul 2005|09:08pm] slayers_acolyte Forgot to let everyone know this but Round Four officially starts July 9.  Nomination is open until midnight of July 26.  Judging begins on July 27 to August 20.  Winners will be announced the week after. Best of luck to all.

This also means that the main site is too damaged for repair and needs serious redoing and we've taken it to ourselves to find us a new home. In order to post comments, you do have to be member. Submission Format [29 Jun 2005|04:27pm] slayers_acolyte This is posted so people actually follow it.  I've revised certain ones to accomodate LJ settings.  We ask that all nominations be emailed to us at fractured_fairytale@hotmail.com but if not, post it here. Please be sure to have read all the rules before nominating. A small rule concerning submissions : You are allowed to submit one form nominating multiple fics if the fics are all yours.  If not, put them all separately. Title of fic nominated Author's name Author's email or in the case of LJs, just a link to them.  This is for notification purposes. Categories [29 Jun 2005|04:04pm] slayers_acolyte By Genre Silent Screams The best angst.  This is also called the Carve Your Heart Out award which means that in order for a fic to win this category, there has to be some intense tear-jerking scenes that will make you carve your heart out. Giggle-Snort-Fall On The Floor Humor.  The main theme of the fic must be humor, not just one instance of humor.  A cutesy moment between characters is not humor.  Fluff is not funny. Edge of Doom The best tragedy.  This category focuses on death but other tragic events are acceptable.  Check with us if you're not sure.  The main thing is the characters must be affected by a tragic event that is not caused by a mystical power or event or some predestined thing.  Think natural death, illness or accidents. No Greater Love The best romance.  All types of pairings are welcome but make sure they're believable.  They can not be out of character.   By Length Lone Hero Award : Award for standalones and one-shots.  Drabbles are not acceptable here. Search For Something More Award : Given to the best work in progress.  There must be a minimum of five chapters in order for a fic to qualify. The Best Laid Plans Award : The best series.  All fics nominated for this category must have a story finished and several chapters of its sequel posted. Signed, Sealed and Delivered : An award for completed works of fiction.  Sequels are not accepted even if they are completed.  The first story, however, qualifies.   Kidfic - Canon Characters The focus must be on the person taking care of the children. And Baby Makes...Award : An award for the best fic that revolves around a pregnant canon character and the poeple around them. Pause and Rewind : The best throwback.  Any stories with canon characters turned into children. Reflecting Gods :  The best past-fic.  Throwbacks, even with flashbacks are not accepted in this category. Bedtime Stories, Teddy Bears and Apocalypses :  Must revolve around canon characters raising their own childre n anywhere from infancy to 18 years old.  Characters raising canon characters that have been thrown-back do not qualify. Crash Test Mommy : Award for fics with canon characters having to raise children that are by no means biologically related to them.  Canon characters having to raise other canon characters who have been thrown-back qualify here. Kidfic - Original Characters The focus must be on the children. Diapers and Things Called Tooties Award : Named after a four year old with a toothie which he called a tootie.  The canon characters must be from 0 to 2 years old. Crayon Wars and Superhero Parents Award :  Children must be from 3 to 6 years old. Heroes In The Making Award : Children from 7 to 11 years old. Rules [29 Jun 2005|02:35pm] slayers_acolyte Fiction Submission Content All fanfiction must be Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series.  This means that cross-overs are not acceptable. Any fanfiction with rape, racism and incest are not accepted here.  NC17 are not accepted.  WIPs or works in progress are accepted.  They have their own category, in fact. Submission You may nominate your own fic as well as other people's fics.  Please use the Submission Form in the Memories.  The link of the fic nominated must work or it will be disqualified. If you are a nominee, link back or in this case, join the community or add us into your friend's list. If you nominate two of your stories under the same category, both of them will be disqualified.  If two different works are nominated under the same category by two different people, the author has the right to accept only one of the nomination.  Since all nominees are notified through email or LJ, this will at least allow you to keep one of the fic. Each fic can be nominated to as many categories as possible (but do make sure they're the right categories) but only twice under the same category if it has not won. If your fic won a category, do not nominate it under that category again.  Choose another. Each category must have a minimum of 3 fics to be judged. Judging Judges must be able to judge a minimum of 5 categories.  You will probably just end up with three. Judges can also be nominees but they can not judge the categories they nominated their fic or someone else's fic under.  We have the power to veto any judge's decision.

Welcome [29 Jun 2005|02:09pm] slayers_acolyte Welcome to Fractured Fairytales Awards.  FFA is an award site for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel the Series fanfiction.  Our main site is currently down due to some serious maintenance issues.  So, for now this is our temporary home. Rules, Categories and Deadlines are all in the Memories page.  Please be sure to read everything before nominating any fic.  Ask if you're confused.  Winners and Nominees from Round Three will be posted shortly.
