Rest in peace.
Many of you may have heard already, but the legendary William Hutt passed away last week.

Globe and Mail obit.

I was fortunate to see quite a few of his performances, including his last role at Stratford, Prospero in the 2005 Tempest. His was some of the finest acting I have ever experienced. The way he connected with his audiences was truly remarkable. He will be greatly missed.

I saw one of his last Tempests, and it was truly remarkable. You could just see the way the other cast members were in complete awe of him. At the end, the entire audience waited through the curtain calls until he appeared, and then we just lept to our feet. When he first appeared on stage at the beginning, he had to wait until we had all finished clapping. He was truly magnificent, and had a presence and voice that just captured you. Rest in Peace <3
