The Ferveo Project is a livejournal community dedicated to sharing the best Draco/Hermione fanfiction.

ferveoproject is maintained by maplesugrrrl and eucalyptus. We can be reached at ferveo @ gmail.com. The community activities described below may change arbitrarily over time. Ideas and/or comments are greatly appreciated!

There are three ways stories can be recommended, and two types of recommendation.

+ Butterbeer stories are fics recommended in the community, either in a post by a member or as a response to one of the recommendation challenges, or, fics that have been found by the maintainers, which will occasionally appear in the community but are usually recced when the master list of Butterbeer stories is updated. The Butterbeer Master List is maintained here and is easily added to your memories.

+ Order of Merlin stories are the best of the best. Butterbeer recs are automatically placed into consideration for the Order of Merlin.

All members can recommend stories for Butterbeer status. Order of Merlin recognition is awarded by the maintainers.

If you want to recommend a story to the maintainers for the Order of Merlin (bypassing the rec challenges or a post to the community), please send an email to ferveo @ gmail.com and include a direct link to the story. See our story criteria below to learn what we would prefer you didn't recommend.

note regarding the Order of Merlin: Only COMPLETED stories are considered the Order of Merlin. We make every effort to rec a variety of story types. If you rec a story for the Order of Merlin but we don't agree, please don't take it personally.

Members of the community may recommend a story in a new post at ANY time.

Recommendation challenges will occur on an irregular basis. Members may rec stories that belong to the challenged category, including stories that have previously received Butterbeer status and/or the Order of Merlin. Challenge reminders may also be posted occasionally (lest the original challenge post become buried on your f-list). Other community activities may include essays, writing discussion, character analyses, and resource recommendations.

Shout out: lotr_fic_recs, because we really liked their idea for rec challenges.

When recommending stories, we would prefer Draco/Hermione stories that adhere to the following (very general) standards:

• Stories should ideally have been beta-read or contain few grammatical and spelling errors.
• Stories should be formatted somewhat neatly so that the story is easy to read (i.e. spaces in all the right places).
• Stories should appear to follow canon unless marked otherwise.

We are not keen on:

• Stories that are f-locked or "hidden" behind a password or membership (except where membership is required in order to record a declaration of age, such as the restricted section). If an author wishes for their story to remain semi-private, we respect that.
• Stories where the author holds the next chapter hostage in exchange for reviews.
• Stories with an unreasonable number of spelling and grammatical errors.
• Stories involving Tom/Emma, non-con fics posing as p0rn, chan.

Please be aware of the following:

• Ferveo is not a spoiler free community.
  
• Members are free to participate as little or as much as they want (though we would prefer the latter rather than the former).
  
• Members are expected to behave rationally and treat their fellow community members with respect. No flaming, trolling, or derogatory comments.
  
• Recommending your own stories is no longer allowed. Any person found creating dummy journals to recommend their own stories will be banned.
  
• If you are looking for something more interactive or to make friends, please check out dramione, dracoxhermione, or draco_hermione.
  
• All posts at ferveoproject must be a NEW recommendation or related to a previous recommendation (i.e., such and such has been updated is okay).
  
• Introductions, posting of stories and sharing of graphics is not allowed.
  
• Community and event promotions are limited to affiliated sites and those who have requested permission from the maintainers. Drop us a note at ferveo @ gmail.com if you have something to promote!
  
• When reccing stories, members are requested to follow our Rec Post Guidelines
  
• We do not intend to restrict stories of an R/NC-17 rating or serve as community police. As such, ferveoproject is an 18+ community. Any underage members found violating this sole membership condition will be banned.
