Passion is a driving force. Passion is a healing force. Passion requires truthful and authentic expression of Who We Are. On the Iron Pentacle we find the Self must encounter Passion before approaching Pride and Power. In this intensive online workshop we will ignite the fires of passion within us—the fires of cleansing and healing. Loosing the floodgates of our passionate nature, we will break through limiting habits of shame, fear and guilt. Finally, we taste the sweetness of “yes” on our lips as we answer the invitation to dance among the stars.

Join us as we journey deep into the threefold nature of our Passion. Through reading, discussion, a variety of exercises and ritual magic we will endeavor to allow passion to arise in us and find expression in thought, word and deed. Of course, we will also explore how Passion connects to the other points on our Iron Pentacle— Pride, Power, Sex and Self—informing and shaping the whole while also being fed and shaped by them. Iron Pentacle is a dynamic magical tool for the empowerment of the Feri Witch and through us, the world we engage with.

I folded like an envelope on the massage table, the Reiki master pulling back in surprise at my reaction.

I had hardly dared believe it. I lived in such a barren place, so bereft of even the sense of fae, that I feared that the garden I had made was too small an oasis to attract the fae. And when first I detected a slip of light, of movement, in the corner of my eye, I wrote it off to wishful thinking. Migraine. "Floaters" in my own eye. I tended the space with a gentle hand, I let it grow as wild as suburban rules allowed. But I did not dare to hope. I uprooted possibility, chance vision, with the same caustic aggression that I uprooted thistle. It was not to be borne. I would not give way to my hopes any more than I would give way to one weed.

And so, when I was lying under the hands of a Reiki master, who knew nothing of me but had just described the angel/ghost who was with me in such exact detail that no one who knew him could fail to recognize my father, and no one who did not know him would ever imagine, I was open to possibility.

I contorted with the deep joy one feels at great music, before masterful art, a joy so great that it threatens to burst fourth from your ribs if you are not careful.

I believed, because I had seen. I had not believed before, because I feared I only saw what I wished. But this person had no knowledge of my interest in the fae. It was a remark offered casually, like a change of weather.

And then? I did nothing. For 7 months, I bowed slightly to the garden and left it be.

In truth, I feared my own enthusiasm. And of course, the ongoing touchstone of, "am I simply batshit crazy?"

Since October, I have left them alone. but tonight, under the stars, I ventured forth. I crawled upon the grass, lay down upon it, and offered myself up in sacrifice.

I held onto the blades of grass and vowed not to depart into faerie. But that was the only thing I reserved. And for an hour I writhed in bliss as constellations revealed themselves and the world moved for me.

I pulled away when the pleasure threatened to devour me. I have things left to do here. But I am content with that - it is my choice to stay, my choice to do this work, my choice to love on this plane. I see that now, as I have not seen it for a long time.

Life? Is good.

I don't know if this against the rules for the community.  I didn't see it in the rules.  If it is, let me know and I'll delete it.

I live in Wyoming, where, as far as I know, there is no one else with any knowledge of Feri.  I have been studying Feri for about two years, but don't currently have a teacher, due to living in such a remote state.  I can't afford to go to any of the training, because of the cost of travelling.

I heard recently that lore that lil ole not-yet-initiate me first introduced to initiates back in the late 1990s or early 2000s about astronomical correlations to the Guardians based on own independent "original" research and personal divinely inspired gnosis has morphed and turned into a bludgeon for certain initiates trying to claim this stuff as "an Initiatory Secret" (TM) of their line to try and hammer students - who happen to be my friends and circlemates - into some kind of subordinate status and to keep quiet about.

I've been thinking about this for quite a while (a couple of years). I'm not happy with the current focus, or lack thereof, in this community, and from the lack of overall activity, I don't think anyone else is, either. I'm going to make a few changes in the posting guidelines.

I'd wanted to "wait until activity picked up" before doing this, but I don't think activity will pick up without changes. Whether this will allow/encourage more conversations, or just kill the group, remains to be seen--but I'd rather have a dead/archive community than one I flinch past when I see it on my f'list.

Workshops with Storm Faerywolf in Austin, Texas

Journey into F(a)eri(e) (Open workshop)

Faery is a particular place within the underworld, that realm which mirrors our own. In some forms of the Faery-Faith, it is said that part of our own soul exists there, connecting us to that place where the stars shine within the earth and the ancestors dwell.

We will discuss the various ways in which Feri and Faery intersect. Using story, symbol, and ritual we will journey into this twilight realm, and work with some of the faery beings connected to the land as we deepen our connection to the earth, to the shining lands, and to our fey nature. Trance techniques, movement, and core Feri concepts such as the Three Souls and the Iron Pentacle will be engaged to facilitate the process.

All are invited to attend this Saturday workshop from 10am-9pm.



The Peacock Angel and the Divine Twins (Advanced workshop)

This class will include advanced techniques. To participate, you must A) be a Feri student actively studying with a teacher OR b) have studied with a Feri teacher for two or more years in the past. For additional details, inquire with the organizer.

The Divine Twins are central to the mysteries and myths of the Feri tradition. They manifest in a myriad of different ways, and it is said that when they merge in holy lust, they become the Peacock Angel. Together we will invoke and embody these mysterious presences and facilitate their divine transformation into one of the most beautiful and strange beings the Feri tradition has ever known.

Class Description...
Feri's walk a crooked, star-lit path along a razor's edge, between Will and Surrender, the Iron and the Pearl, Divine as eminent and immanent. In this weekend intensive, we will examine and enter fully into the paradox that is Feri Magic. Working with the Creation Story, the Divine Twins, Soul Alignment, the Iron and the Pearl Pentacles, we will explore both esoteric and mundane topics such as suffering, sexuality, desire, passion and compassion, healing and hexing.

An adept magician must know when to exert will and when to surrender. We gain this wisdom through knowledge of Self in all our parts—even those parts we might consider weak or selfish.

In a carefully constructed container for this work, we will more clearly define the work of our Personal God through ritual, discussion, song, journaling, trance-journeying and divination. Healing the fear, shame and guilt which keep us from our Truth is powerful. Defining our Will is powerful. Walking the star-lit path takes courage, dedication and sometimes, blind faith.

We are often expected to learn good ritual skills by osmosis. This only rarely works, on those precious few who learn well without structure.

This workshop will draw upon the skills and questions of all participants in order to deepen our ritual process. Experienced priests can learn how to revitalize their ritual practice, becoming more effective leaders. Those newer to the Craft can learn which questions to ask, and what energies to notice.

What is the Craft Elder Project?
It is an idea borne out of how the Feri community pulled together to care for Cora Anderson. Our elders are owed a debt of more than gratitude, and we need to care for many physically, materially, and emotionally as they transition into Elder and eventually pass on.
The project hopes to offer:

• visitations for company,
• physical caregiving,
• healing (and hopefully "alternative" healing modalities such as TCM, reiki, and others),
• material assistance (food, rent money, pet supplies, etc),
• help with bureaucratic entities like public assistance, medi-cal/care, and food stamps,
• we hope to offer liaison and power of attorney services to make sure pagan wishes are respected by blood families,
• and we want to incorporate an oral history project to make sure their contributions to their Craft and important history does not go undocumented.

How can I help?
If you have time to volunteer, we know that you can be plugged in! Come to the meeting to learn how.
If you have skills in non-profit administration, volunteer coordination, fundraising, web and/or graphic design- we need you!
If you are a healer, a lawyer, a therapist, know "the system" and its in-and-outs, we can use your expertise.
If you have audio/ video equipment, and would let us use it (or have you use it and give us the recording) to document our Elders' stories, we can use your help!
If you have money that you can contribute (either one time or on a regular basis), we can always use that. Money will be funneled through an umbrella non-profit organization (we have been talking to Solar Cross), and will therefore be tax deductable.

How do I get plugged in?
Come to a meeting! This meeting is the first of many- but we wanted to get the basics out of the way, before a major push for involvement at PantheaCon. Next meeting will be after PantheaCon and will hopefully have many vounteers across many traditions.

What's this meeting going to cover?
At the first meeting, we are:

• mapping out all goals,
• prioritizing them into a 3 year plan,
• determining what constitutes a "Craft Elder" and who benefits from the project's resources,
• assigning key volunteer positions for the first year,
• seeing where we have roles left unfilled,
• setting up the next meeting time and place (hopefully a regular monthly),
• and designing an appeal for help to distribute at this year's PantheaCon.

This meeting is important to attend if you want to be involved in an organizing capacity or have a desire to shape how we design the program for the next three years. Lillitu Shahar, a Feri student with years of non-profit admin, board, and strategic planning experience will be facilitating the brainstorming and strategic planning sessions at this first meeting. No other roles beyond that finite role at this first meeting have been decided.

I wanna be involved, but I cannot attend on that date!
No worries- contact Lilli and she will add you to the communication loop. She will be creating an email group to host meeting minutes and conduct business in-between monthly meetings. Tell her specifically if you have a skill that we need, money or materials to donate to the project, or how much time per week you can spare on average when you email her!

When I decided to create a rosary for use with the Iron Pentacle, I had also decided it would be fitting to create one for the Pearl Pentacle as well. There were certain difficulties involved (the freshwater pearls wouldn't fit on the wire, couldn't get the pentacle I wanted for it, etc.), but overall I think it turned out really well. The pearls are actually made of crystal, and the clear beads on it are Soirovsky crystal. I know that many (neo)pagans see their involvement in BDSM as part of their spirituality and liberation. Others see BDSM as the opposite to both. Especially in a tradition that focuses that much on Sex, Power and Liberty as we do - what are your feelings, visions, experiences and thoughts about bdsm-practices as part and vehicle for spiritual evolution and growth? Is their a connection at all that makes sense to you?

I ask this for personal reasons and as part of my research for a presentation at university. The subject will be "BDSM-practices as part of pagan and neopagan spirituality". Thus all experiences and references to other websites, books, etc. are highly appreciated. Thanx! :)
