plastic_wookie. This is the place for posting about feminist victories, activism, and other stuff that deserves celebration, mention, or gives you hope for the world.
Credit for the name and general concept goes to mizuuta and everyone else that wanted a community like this but felt they didn't have the time to run it. This is for all of you.
Some examples of stuff to post: stories about enlightening/telling off/standing up to people about their sexist/bigoted behavior, news about bad legislation being repealed or good legislation being enacted or other legal victories, inspiring speeches/propaganda that are feminist or anti sexism/bigotry, activism events or ideas for stuff to do, etc. Ideas are not limited to those, if you think something would be appropriate here, it probably is.
If you're pissed off about sexism/bigotry and everything wrong happening in the world that's related (you know you are) and want to rant in a safe space,feminist_rage or queer_rage might be the place for you.

Membership is moderated to prevent trolling. Only members are allowed to post and comment. To join, click the "join community" link at the top of this page and a moderator will receive your request. Assessment is usually prompt, within a day or two. If you try to join and are rejected, we are willing to reconsider the decision if you send a mod an email. Please include "feminist yay" in the subject line and be nice, if you want us to read it.
This is a safe space for female identified people and feminists. This is not a debate community. If you are not female identified or a feminist, you may not feel safe here. That's alright, join another community.
This community is pro-choice, and no pro-life/anti-choice arguments are allowed here. Please go toabortiondebate if this is problem for you. Also not allowed are homophobia, transphobia, and racism. Nothing insulting to parents or childfree is allowed. Rape survivors are to be believed, and victim blaming is not allowed.
If your post or a link contains material potentially triggering to assault or abuse survivors (descriptions of abuse/assault/other possibly upsetting stuff) please put behind a cut with a content warning.
If a post bothers you or is problematic, please alert a mod.
You may not copy anything from this community (aside from public news links) even to your personal journal unless you ask for and recieve permission from the poster and/or commenters to repost their writing.

Trolling, flaming, spamming, etc. are not allowed. If you want help with your homework, this is not the place to ask. Tryfeminist_101. Community promos and other linking for the sake of linking are allowed if the community or link being advertised is feminist geared/of interest to feminists and you include a "yay" in your post. Be respectful to other community members. You can disagree with someone and still be polite. Don't be a jerk.
Please do not delete your posts, delete comments you've made, delete other people's comments, screen comments, freeze threads, or disallow comments.
