What texts would you recommend as sort of "Feminism for Dummies"? I'm really unclear about the different waves of feminisms, certain politics and readings.

Much obliged

I thought Manifesta was a pretty good primer. I've heard good things about Jessica Valenti's book Full Frontal Feminism.

(Also, could you fix the html error? The first "<" in the cross-posted line is causing the issue.

I agree with Full Frontal Feminism. Although it doesn't touch as many topics as you might want, it will give you a good amount of background to form your own opinions and branch out.

Feminism is for Everybody by bell hooks. This book is the BEST feminist primer.

Definitely a second for Feminism is for Everybody, and Manifesta is a good third-wave primer with a bit of history as well.

There is also the "Very Short Introduction" series, which has a book on feminism.

Also, just hang around online for a while on feminist blogs, or communities, and you'll pick up a lot of stuff.
