First play from scrimmage for Cal: Jahvid Best, 80 yard rush untouched for a TD.
Second play from scrimmage for Washington State: Syd'Quan Thompson, INT.
Third play from scrimmage for Cal (fifth play of the game, not counting two kickoffs and an extra point): Kevin Riley to Sean Young, 14 yd TD pass.
Six minutes into the game: Cal 21, Washington State 0. Halftime: Cal 42, Washington State 3.
So far this year, we have three TD rushes of more than 80 yards (81 last week by Shane Vereen, 80 and 86 today by Jahvid Best, who also has a five yard TD run. Vereen has his own 39 yard TD run today.).
The only problems have been our special teams coverage and our passing, because this 3-4 defense is AWESOME. Awesome, I tell you. WE ROCK.
ETA: "Coaching etiquette" dictates that when you're up 52-3, running the ball on 4th down at the opponent's 6 yard line (rather than kicking the field goal) is the polite things to do. Except when you score on that 4th down run. Oops; it's now 59-3. Of those 8 touchdowns, 6 have been on the ground and one was by the special teams.
ETA again: so it's 66-3. Washington State's last worst loss was 62-3 against UCLA in 1976. New record: yay?
I have to say I'm really impressed by the number of Washington State fans who are still there, because ouch. Don't they have a mercy rule in football?
Jahvid Best: 14 carries, 200 yards, 3 TDs.
Team rushing: 40 carries, 391 yards, 7 TDs. (Of course the passing was 14/24 for 112 yards and a TD, which is not good.)

Other people: Go Blue! (McGuffie is fun to watch.) Go Dawgs! (Moreno for Heisman.) Not so go Terps. And next week, really not so go, Terps (I hope).
