I have no fax machine right now because despite the new taking the same BLACK ink as the old one, it does not take the same COLOR ink and will not function without both cartridges. New cartridge coming Monday. My cell phone has something wrong with it's charger connection so I cannot charge it. I need to get a new phone. Hopefully it is covered under my plan. However, I won't know until Monday when the Sprint store is open. ARGH!

Gators looked good in the second half. Miami looked very good in the first half. I can't wait to see what Randy Shannon can do with this very young team that he has in the future. Most of the starters on both sides are freshmen and sophomores. The defense is big, too! Next stop: Miami playing the Aggies in College Station (and yes, you've heard me say it before I do have a ticket to that game. I have decided I need to get an iPod. I want to be able to carry all my Nick Cave tunes with me everwhere I go. And yeah even some other tunes, too (esp. Damien Rice, who is teh awesome). I'm on a crazy slow wireless connection, so I'll probably just shut it down soon and read. What a concept! I think I'm having brunch with My life is really kind of dull and boring.

You should ask West Virginia how they feel about that, considering that East Carolina not only beat the crap out of them, but literally owned them the entire game. This should get ECU into the top 25 since they beat Virginia Tech last week, 2 ranked opponents in 2 weeks (and WVU was a top 10 team at that). Miami is the underdog, and may very well lose, but don't discount the Canes. They are filthy with talent, albeit young and somewhat inexperienced talent. But I think it'll be a much better and closer game than many think it will be.

I currently have my choice of 4 football games. Plus some US Open action. That's alright by me. ETA1: Tennis cancelled for the rest of the day because of rain. But that's okay, there's another football game to add to the mix now (for a total of 5). ETA2: The Huskies were so fucking robbed! I'm disgusted because they got a penalty that really was a bad penalty for excessive celebration after they scored a TD with 2 seconds left in the game. All because the QB (who ran the ball in) let the ball go over his back. And that added 15 yards to the point after attempt, the equivalent of a 35 yard FG and it was blocked. REFS should NOT determine the outcome of a game! ECU is currently owning West Virginia middle of the 3rd quarter. ETA3: Wake Forest represented for the ACC. ECU is still all over WV.

I made my travel arrangements for Chicago/Dallas yesterday. I'll be flying to Chicago on Sunday the 28th arriving a little after noon. I haven't yet bought a ticket for that evening's Nick Cave show, but I'm going to, probably on Monday. I'll be leaving Chicago at 3 on Friday and flying to Dallas for FenCon, driving back to Austin with Had a meeting this morning with the ArmadilloCon hotel committee, making plans for next year and beyond. Currently watching Ohio school Ohio State (not a fan of the Buckeyes, so this game pleases me). Ohio State is down by 8 since they just fumbled in the end zone and Ohio jumped on it. This evening is the game watch for Miami/Florida. My heart still hurts, but I'm having a good hair day, so that's something. ETA: Looks like the Buckeyes showed up for the 4th quarter. How nice for them.

| There's really nothing quite like the neighborhood skunk to send the noisy neighbors inside. I just realized it got suddenly quiet, and on the breeze there's the faintest tinge of skunk... I really am beginning to like that skunk. This is the second time it has caused a rapid silence to descend upon the street. | |||
