Cows Don't Need No Stinkin' Maps

Good thing--have you ever seen a cow fold a map?

European science guys have discovered what cows knew all along--our bovine brethren have an internal compass. They always know which way is north. The researchers think that the earth's magnetic field may be the reason, but Wisconsin dairy farmer Tina Hinchley has another theory.

"They don't like to get hot. Their body temperature is 102, and they are wearing black leather jackets, literally! If turning north-south would keep them cooler, they would stand that way."

Coddled Cows Like Oprah

"you get a cow! and you get a cow!

Dude in Des Moines got all his cows waterbeds and a flatscreen TV. He says it makes them happy, and they like to watch Oprah and Dr. Phil. Famous cowologist Temple Grandin oversaw a study done by the University of Colorado that discovered that cows like waterbeds, but also think sand is just fine. Cows with waterbeds produce 6% more milk. Cows with mirrors over their waterbeds produce 10% more.

mad cow!

A small cow roaming the bucolic streets of Jamaica Queens in search of a friendly face was captured at gun point by the NYPD. No one knows where the cow came from, and if she is not claimed she will be sent upstate to live on a farm. Allegedly.

Holy Cow! That's A Passport!

If only Phil Rizzuto were still alive

Indian officials have come up with a plan to stop people smuggling cows over their border to Bangladesh--they are issuing cow passports to all cattle. Neighboring Bangladesh has chronic food shortages, and no ban on eating cows. Slaughtering cows is illegal in most of India.

The IDs will have a photo along with the cow's gender, height and weight, the owner's name and address, and whether or not it likes long walks on the beach or romantic nights snuggling in front of the fireplace.
