OOTD Zombie
Six outfits under the cut.

Insert title here.

This one is actually from a month ago, but I'm pretty sure I haven't posted it here yet.

Oh, and I still haven't gotten a haircut. I know, I know.

Wrap dress by Mlle Gabrielle,
green argyle sweater by Lane Bryant,
brown tights by Avenue,
brown t-straps by Born,
nothing new.

I turn to stone, when you are gone, I turn to stone.

I have no idea where these tights came from - I mean, I know they're Avenue from the tag, but I cannot fathom buying cream-colored tights even in a drunken stupor. It seems like sometimes things just autopopulate in my tights drawer.

Blue dress from Chadwicks,
(altered) green cardigan from Jessica London,
cream tights from Avenue,
mustard flats from Target,
nothing new here.

And what I assume you shall assume.

The lighting makes the dress and cardigan here look brownish, when they're actually black. I'll be pleased in the spring, when I can stop relying on lamps and use natural light for these pictures again.

Black & white applique dress is from eShakti.com,
black & white pindot cardigan originally from Lane Bryant, procured from a sales post,
belt from Steel Toe Studios, buckle from Etsy,
blue tights from We Love Colors,
clogs are Dansko.

Oh, well.

I call this the Stevie Nicks dress, and I've posted it here before. Unfortunately, the day I wore this outfit, out of the habit of long skirts, I shut the back of said dress in my car door, and then drove like that for several miles, until a nice gentleman in another car beeped at me and let me know my dress was not only shut in the door, but was dragging on the filthy sleet-encrusted ground. Go me! I've successfully salvaged the dress though, as the damage was mostly superficial.

Maroon cardigan from Lane Bryant,
brutalized dress from Holy Clothing,
belt and buckle from Steel Toe Studios,
puzzle-piece pin from some pre-Etsy crafter boutique,
shearling boots are by Maxine of Canada.

Time

A rare big win for that eBay seller in China. I really love this dress and it fits perfectly; I'd sort of like to order another in a different color, but I feel like I shouldn't push my luck.

Brown taffeta dress is Lily0808168,
purple cardigan is from Target,
grey tie belt is borrowed from another sweater,
grey tights are Avenue,
cream wedgey flats are Tsubo.

Bad

I like to think of being rumpled as part of my personal style.

Grey sweater from Target,
purple dress from eShakti.com,
maroon tights from We Love Colors,
cordovan clogs by Dansko.

Reference points are 5'9"ish, >300ish, small-busted, butternut-squash-shaped, US Women's 24-26-28. Comments are awesome.

Thanks! That cardigan is so old I've had to mend it like three times now.

Those cream tights look great with the colored layers on top and the mustard shoes. Cute! Do you mind if I bite your style? I'm thinking I need to invest in some new hosiery... :D

Haha, thank you - this comment is cracking me up because the dress in question is just a belt around a straight-up muumuu... and it makes sense that it would work with my muumuu-like shape. :)

, the day I wore this outfit, out of the habit of long skirts, I shut the back of said dress in my car door, and then drove like that for several miles. . .

This cracked me up, because I have a special gift for shutting my clothing in car doors. I think I inherited it from my mother, who was possibly even *more* gifted than I am. One of my favorite photographs of her is one where she's posing in her very first car, all proud of herself. . .and the belt of her coat is hanging out the bottom of the car door.

Love the blue dress from Chadwicks, too. Is that a recent find?

Ha! I got the Chadwicks dress months ago on crazy clearance, but they tend to keep clearance stuff around forever so you might still be able to find it on the website.

Ok, generally I really love your clothes. But, something about the Stevie Nicks dress rubs me wrong -- it may be a personal issue that has nothing to do with how things actually look, but, I feel like the color is sort of bleh/boring on you, especially because you usually wear such nice brights. And, then, on the last one, I like all the pieces individually, but I think the cut of the cardigan sort of competes with the cut of the dress a bit. Like the rest, and especially love outfits one and 2, but of which look fabulous, and display some excellent color action.

The color is a little weird and hard to describe, but I also blame the lighting in that picture for that too, it's washing it out a lot. And I totally agree about the cardigan with the last dress - once I looked at the pictures I immediately thought, hmm, that doesn't really work.

And thanks!

I'm totally jealous of your dress collection. I love them all. I also wish I could wear more dresses right now, however I live in Canada and I have to walk a lot outside around school. I'd definitely freeze my butt off.

I particularly like the faux-brown outfit and the Steve Nicks look -- it's outside of your usual sort of shortish-full-skirt-cardigan look, and I really like the way you accessorized.

All my pants were dirty yesterday so I threw on some stockings and a skirt (which is something I never ever do). Man, I don't feel comfortable in the way that I present in a skirt or dress but not wearing pants was so goddamn comfortable! Anyway, all day I was thinking, "This is what Lesley feels like Every Day!"

The blue and green is my fave. I'm left wondering what other color tights with which you've paired the last outfit.

Your style is the kind of style I'd like to have if I had the money to get a new wardrobe. Your overall color palette in every single one is just so rich and yummy, I love it! Also, kudos on all your shoe selections. <3

Saturday, at Goodwill, I found a pale pink, handmade lightweight dress with the prettiest pleats all around the skirt, but it was for someone taller than me and I left it behind (although the Coldwater Creek basic good-for-kneesocks-to-run-errands dress came home with me).

I did take some time in the mirror with the pink dress, wondering what you would do with it, what layering-magic you might whip up.

I've passed by that first sweater so many times at Target, not knowing what I'd pair it with. Now, I'm ashamed of myself.

And I love how the eShakti+pindot sweater outfit looks on you. The neckline and length are great.

I wish I owned as many beautiful cardigans, tights, and dresses as you. I'm getting there though. THanks for posting such cutie clothes. My favorite is the all black outfit that looks brown.

Wow, that eShakti dress is AMAZING! If you ever decide to sell it, hit me up! Also, I am butternut squash shaped, so I love that description. Do you mind if I use it from now on? :)

I talk about my eShakti efforts a little bit here. The reviews are totally mixed, though it seems to me that people tend to have more trouble with custom sizing than the standardized sizes. I've ordered everything I've gotten from them in their standard 3X and everything has fit just as I expected it to, but that's just my experience - I may have been lucky. Also, I've heard of folks having problems with returns, but I've never returned anything so I can't speak to that. I will also say that their quality for the money is really outstanding; their stuff is cheaper than Blue Plate, for example, but far better made, in my opinion.

because I am such a fan of yours and haven't confessed...

There is really nothing I can say that hasn't been said about your fabulous fashion. It's practically impeccable. I'm not a huge fan of the first outfit, though. Something about the way the cardi hits, but otherwise: FANTABULOUS!

I am so jealous of your dress collection! You've inspired a lot of my wardrobe >.< YOU my lady, are responsible for me not fearing colored tights or dresses any more. :oD

Oh and I was totally diggin the black and white dress/cardi even when i thought it was brown.

Of course I think you look wonderful, as always. But there's something about that "Stevie Nicks" dress...

In direct opposition to [info]vintagehandbag, I LOVE it. I can't quite put my finger on what it is that makes me like it so much more than the others, but I keep looking at that and thinking "wow."

Wow is good, right? :)

Absolutely love the first outfit, and love the eShakti outfit.... I'd love to see it with other tights colors, like maroon or purple.

I like the cardigan/taffeta combo, but I think I'd like it better with no belt. I also think a different color tights would set off the brown better - maybe the blue from the eShakti outfit with the brown shoes from the first one?

PS - I like your hair longer!
