levi's shrink to fit?
has anyone every purchased levi's 501 shrink to fit jeans? I'm debating on what size or order. Most places say to add 2 inches (to waist size) for shrinkage, and then an additional 2 inches for having hips (these are men's jeans)...

I own men's pants in sizes ranging from a 40 to a 48...and am generally a 44 or 46...I think.

bah.

Coordination Help
I jumped on the band wagon and bought a high waisted pencil skirt today. When I got home I realized A) I have NO idea how to wear it, and B)I don't know if I can wear it with my body shape. Heres some pics of some coordinations I was playing around with. Tell me what you think.

Hello Fatshonistas! I need a sheer body suit - preferably long sleeve, preferably black - that also has a snap crotch. Any one know where to get something like this? Thanks!!

should they stay or go & ootd

i am still going thru the multitude of things in my closet that i never wear & would like your opinions heres a couple things that i have been keeping sayin i will wear them i will, lol but i think that i have so many issues with being uncomfy in strapless bras (i just got two brand new from LB but they still feel weird) that i want to get rid of all my things that need strapless, that would be the first 2 and im jsut not sure if they look right anyway, then the pink its not speaking to me, i love the last 2 but im not sure if black on black is good & im not sure about the animal print, and what shoes would i wear with it or with the pink? any comments would be most welcome! please excuse my awful face today i have a yucky fever blister :(

help me! )

Fat Characters
I just wrote up a rambling blog post about fat characters in literature, and it occurred to me right after that it would be cool to have an LJ community for reviews and discussion of fat characters in books and other media. Does anyone know if one exists, or if not would people be interested in one if I made it?

EDIT: [info]fatfiction =)

balancing out a huge rack
Hi ladies,

I am the sort-of-proud owner of a 42DD chest. I'm 5'4, and my jeans size hovers around a big 14/small 16. So...the boobs are kind of a major component.

Anyway. I don't have a particular occasion in mind, but from time to time I need to buy a cocktail or sun dress and I just have no idea what kind of style does not emphasize my boobs or make me look like a tart (not that there's anything wrong with that).

So, for the bustier fatshionistas out there, what style of dress do you feel makes you look proportional? It's difficult for me not to look like I'm all boobs, but it's nice when it happens. Feel free to post some pictures with your comments!

Thank you!

blouses for the big-boobied?
I've just come back from yet another disappointing search for a button-down shirt that actually fits, and I was hoping that someone here might have a recent find they can share.

Help, please? )

Roman Greek Goddess Dress
I have been cast in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" as one of the courtesans IE Panacea. When I was looking for costumes ideas for another part as a fairy queen, I stumbled across a really pretty, flowy grecian looking dress. I cant remember if it was an actual costume or simply a dress that I was considering for the role.

Any suggestion on where to look or seen some outfits floating around that might work.

If Im going to be the only plus size woman strutting herself onstage and bumping and grinding myself through a small dance solo...I want the outfit to look amazing.

How much is too much?
Hi Fatshionistas,

I have a question. How many times in a row is it acceptable to wear the same pair of shoes?

My friends and I had a clothing swap, and I wound up with a FABULOUS pair of red cowgirl boots. I am deeply in love with these boots. They are my sole mates. They complete me. Also, I didn't realize this at first, but they look good with EVERYTHING. (According to me, anyway.) There is no outfit that is not improved by the addition of red cowgirl boots.

But the thing is, I've been wearing them a lot. Specifically, I've been performing in them a lot (I'm a slam poet). I have a show tonight, and if I wear the red boots it will be the third time in a row. On the one hand, I feel like I should give them a rest and wear something different, because it's not like I have a shoe shortage. On the other hand, THEY ARE RED COWGIRL BOOTS. How can I resist them?

What would you do?

Old Navy jeans questions...
Hey fellow Fabulous Ones,

I've got a question for you all. Have any of you ordered jeans in the Women's Plus sizes from Old Navy (specifically the 28-30's)? Normally, I buy 32's from Avenue, because they fit my booty-shakin' hips pretty well. But I'm looking at the size charts for ON and noticing that their 28 and 30 are larger than Avenue's 30 and 32. I'm considering buying a 28 and a 30 and just exchanging what doesn't fit right.

Also, what's the real difference between their "Flirt" and "Diva" cuts? I know one has a low rise, but I'm not a big fan of the low-rise trend...I have too much booty for my pants to sit that low! Besides, I need to be able to wear them on spirit days at school.

So, what say you fatshionistas? If you've had experience with their pants, let me know.

ps. I just got a bunch of stuff from them, and it's way cute, but I wish they'd cut their blouses a little bigger in the shoulders! :(

pps. I'm still waiting to hear back from American Airlines. As soon as I do, I'll post again.

experience with miraclesuit?
my g/f and i are getting legally married in a couple weeks (we are having our big ceremony in 2010.. but want to make it legal before voting in November when same-sex marriage might be illegal again), and I bought a halter dress to wear to the legal ceremony, because really, I couldn't pass up a good reason to go by a new dress (or 3.)
I have some spanx, but I don't really like them and I don't usually wear body shaping gear, but I want to look extra nice for my (first) big day.

I just ordered this body shaper, and I'm just wondering if any of you have experience with this brand or suggestions if it doesn't work out?
I was looking for something just like this, because I don't mind my thighs at all and I wanted under-wire support for my boobs.

Thanks!
