Does anyone know
where I can find wedges similar to this: )
But in black instead of brown?

Preferably stores where I can go and try them on, because I have tiny feet its hard to buy shoes online...and also not extremely expensive. I'd say $40 max.

I am Sooooooo Frickin' Pissed!*

*White Chicks reference btw...

So, about how I have returned home from school for the summer. My school is in Atlanta, where as my home is in a medium sized town in Illinois. While I frequented Target in Atlata all through the school year, and often went there once or twice a week, upon returning....my hopes were terribly dashed.

At Target in Atlanta, there are many, many pieces to choose from in the Plus size department. Even on a college student budget, I could afford to look cute often. And shop almost whenever I wanted, as long as I faithfully stuck to the clearance. Thus my love of Target. BUT, today, I bought a black jumper miniskirt from DEB. Size large, fit like a dream, on extreme clearance for $1!!!!!! I fell in love.
But, since my bodacious buttocks make it imperative for me to wear something underneath the skirt, I headed to Target to pick up some footless tights in random colors. I KNEW they HAD to have them, I had seen dozens of them in the Atlanta store.
However, in my neck of the woods, there were absolutely, positively, not a single plus size footless or regular pair of tights in the gorgeous colors I sought. Not that they ran out, because I checked the rack all over, and not ONCE did it mention the sale of plus size tights.
You can imagine my outrage....in fact I ALMOST purchased some in Med/Tall, just to see if they'd fit. However, I refuse to give this particular Target my money for something I knew in my right mind wouldn't fit. I will definitely order them off the website and give Target a piece of my mind, as I can assur you that my city has fat chicks just like Atlanta, and we appreciate cute tights just like them!

On a spring outfit picture-taking tear!
Y'all, ever since I got a Gorillapod tripod for my birthday, I have been going crazy with the outfit of the day pictures!

Other people have said this before, but I really like taking OOTD pictures because knowing that my outfit is going to be photographed encourages me to dress my best and figure out new ways to reinvent old clothes.

Right now, I'm in the process of building up my summer wardrobe, and I've recently gone bikini crazy. After someone's post on here about gold bikinis, I was inspired to get one of my own from Big Gals Lingerie! I'm getting this bikini in that color, only with this style halter top to hold up the girls. (For reference, that site is not so work-safe if your work can't appreciate a fat girl in a bikini like I can.)

Aaaaaaaanyway, onto the outfits! )

For reference, I am 5'4 and a size 18/20.

Please Don't Be Sorry
Note: I posted this at The Rotund but I am just so saddened and aggravated every time I see this today that I had to post it here, too.

Dear people who post in the sewing forums at Craftster (and anywhere else, really),

OMG stop with the apologizing. For reals, your stomach pudge does not offend me. This being your first project does not offend me. The spots on your mirror don’t offend me.

Trust me, first-time-sewers, if you are anything like me, there will be something you hate about every single thing that you make ever. But very few other people will notice it. Stop drawing attention to it and you’ll be much better off.

But, seriously, stop apologizing for your body. You are already posting in the Curvascious part of the forum and you are posting pictures. If I am surprised that you are fat or that you have even a tiny little bit of extra flesh on your body, the problem is mine and so totally not yours.

Apologizing for your body takes the attention off of the garment you have created and puts it squarely on whatever you have perceived as a horrible enough flaw that you have to apologize to random strangers on the internet for it.

And, really, if your bathroom mirror bothers you that much, take a paper towel or cloth and clean it off before taking your picture and putting that picture on the internet.

But mostly, just stop apologizing for your arms and your fat legs and the size of your breasts (always too small or too large) and the way you are making a silly face and that your hair isn’t totally perfect and that your smile is crooked and that you aren’t wearing makeup. Stop apologizing for making projects that you love but that are not “flattering” because they don’t make you look skinny.

You don’t owe anyone any apologies for your body. That goes for everyone.

Love,
Marianne

P.S. The proper response to a compliment is to say thank you. Not to say thanks and then *insert self-denigration here*. It’s not modesty!

Giant Fatshion Dump!
It's been a long damn time since I've posted here! I'm working a labour job currently, so when I actually get to wear non-work clothes I'm so thrilled that I girl it up as much as I can stand. At any rate, here they are.......

And in response to this post, I am not sorry for the awesome poses I am striking. Nor am I sorry for having excellent hair or for being all around great.

I wore this to a friend's art opening. I thought it was appropriate.

Skinny jeans - Old Navy "Diva" jeans via ebay
Chocolate boots - thrifted and remixed

For reference, you are looking at a person who is 5'11-ish and 250 pounds-ish. As always, constructive criticism is welcome, but please keep the body remarks to yourself.
