Hello lovlies!

So today, I was perusing LOULOU magazine's (a Canadian shopping magazine, for all you non-Canucks out there) 14+ plus section becaue I ran out of stuff to do at work. I visit here occassionally, mostly when prompted by the links on Pennington's and Addition Elle's websites. The magazines and the stores have a relationship, so the 14+ section mostly features Penningtons/Addition Elle merchandise. Usually, it's not too exciting.

However, today I discovered that they have started a 14+ blog, which actually has some non-Addition Elle content! There's some stuff about Project Runway Canada winner Sunny Fong's line (he used models over a size 12 and over age 40 in a recent show!), and some other Canadian-based plus size fashion information. Pretty flippin' good resource, if you ask me. There just isn't as much of this information up here!

And bestill my beating heart, I discovered the best thing ever while reading LOULOU's blog - Addition Elle has plus-sized ski pants! I know there have been lots of posts in the past asking about winter gear, and people often comment suggesting Junonia, but Addition Elle's pants are lined! And on sale for $99! And (theoretically - there are none in stock right now) come up to a size 4X! And I'm so happy, I want to cry!

I am a skier. I define so much of myself through my sport, and it is super important to me to look good while I do it. For many years, I wore guys ski pants, which worked, but once I managed to find a pair that were big enough in the waist (or had an elastic waist), the damn things were so long and baggy, and I had to pull them up so high so they wouldn't pull over my hips! Blech!
Two years ago, I finally found a pair of XL Columbia women's ski pants that fit like a dream - everywhere but the waist. But a belt controlled the busting snaps, and I dealt with it, just happy to have my ass visible in my ski pants.

Then I gained weight this summer. The damn pants still fit really well everywhere but my waist. I've sucked in as much as I can, and there is still about two inches to go before they'll button up. So I head to the ski shops, and I can't even find a pair of guy's pants - let along women's - that will fit - and aren't over $300.

I was beginning to think I was just going to have to buy Spanx and not pee when I'm skiing (not something I was looking forward to...)

So I am going to order these ski pants. And I am (hopefully) going to be a very happy girl. And I will post a review when I get them.

A few questions:

First, do any of you have suggestions on where to buy leather or PVC corsets and clothing in plus size that will fit up to a 50" bust? I've found a few places but the bust seems to be the catch - They have great stuff but the bust only goes up to a 42", for instance, for a 3X. Preferably, this should be a US store with decent shipping costs and one that maintains your privacy by not listing the name of the store on your credit card bill.

Second, I've been asking other places on the web, but any of you into kink, do you have suggestions for things to buy for a first-timer? And what has been your experience as a plus-sized person in the world of kink?

I'm going to an "Old School/New School" party this weekend where we've been invited to dress up Old School. I'm possibly the least 'hip' person out there, so I had to research what exactly that is. What I found was it's a little Hipster, a little Glam, a little 80s Hip Hop. Which means next to nothing to me because I'm unclear what this translates to in clothing.

So. Do y'all have any ideas for a cute outfit (I can shop this weekend as it's Black Friday and a payday to boot) that meets the bill of Old School and would look good on a size 24/26 girl? I have practically no chest to speak of, but am bigger in the hips and thighs region (I guess I'm a pear shape?).

the hubbs took me out to cheesecake factory last night. man do they have a ton of food! it took us like 10 min just to go through the menu. i was trying to get something white... b/c i tend to drop things on the shelf boobs. :D i ended up w/pasta in alfredo sauce. but i was apparently in the mood for green food as i ate a few noodles and picked all the peas out to eat. heh.

I'm a DP Whore and I'm not ashamed to say it. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE their stuff and I'm a pretty regular customer (I like New look too but I don't think their quality compares to DP). I just received my order that I've been impatiently waiting for and I have to say I fell in love with DP all over again.

A Different Kind of Test

One college takes "sound mind, sound body" to a new level, requiring students to lose weight or take a fitness class to graduate.

The most messed up thing about all of this is that from what I gauge from the article, the only people who are required to take this "fitness" and "nutrition" class are folks who have BMIs of 30 and above. That is complete and blatant bullshit discrimination. If this university really cared about their students being "healthy" they would require every student in their school to take a nutrition and fitness class. The way they are going about this is incredibly fatphobic, stigmatizing, and ignorant. I'm all about empowering people to feel good and strong in their own bodies but not this way.

So i kind of fell in love with this Torrid Black Poplin Dress in a size 22, but i kept putting it off to purchase and it's sold out yet again! this is like the 5th time it's happened already, and silly me didn't take advantage of their recent restock quick enough :[



Any suggestions for something closely similar would be greatly appreciated or if anyone happens to have one in a size 22 i'd be glad to take it off your hands :]

Hey Fatshionistas! I am in the market for a pair of boots. I'm short (5'3") with short legs. I cannot decide what height of boots to get: knee-high or mid-calf? I fear that knee-high boots will make my legs look shorter, especially as I plan on wearing these boots with skirts most of the time. I figure that the taller the boot, the shorter the skirt needs to be for proportion... and since I am short, there's just not a lot of room to go up. I will be layering the boots with legwarmers, tall socks, and tights.

Although I do want to look cute and show off my legs, I also have relatively heavy thighs, which I don't want to emphasize.

The second boot is actually discontinued, so getting it in my size will be expensive, but on the other hand I think it is super-cute.

So, I already had a mild obsession with glasses. I wear rx lenses, and contacts are a no because I have an eye watering disorder (srsly!). On top of that, my prescription hasn't changed in a few years, so I just keep getting new glasses to add to the pile. The first time I bought the regular plus size tights and they didn't fit and they had a hole in them. I returned these and since others have admitted that this is a regular problem I am a little confused of why they have not change the sizing. Good customer service would start with having the right sizes on the site. It is the SECOND WEEK of the items being confirmed returned and they have YET to give me a refund. They said it takes a couple weeks, this is a first for me. I buy from a bunch of Internet venues and never had to wait over two weeks to have money refunded to my account.

The second time I bought the nylon plus size tights. I selected teal & gray, both colors seem to be off. Teal looks more green then actually blues mixed with green and gray looks jean blue. The tights do fit! They are very comfortable and I can imagine wearing them to bed and not noticing. But they do lack support so if you are looking for anything to hold 'things' in place these are not for you. Overall the colors were a HUGE let down and it would make me maybe think twice before purchasing again.
