story: born to a wealthy businessman and his wife, akito lived a sheltered life from young, but never seemed to take much interest in anything at all. when akito was 12, his parents were captured and executed by the local church for heresy. beaten up and left on the streets to die, akito was then taken in by the Don of a powerful mafia family, who was fascinated by the cold defiance in the child's eyes. soon impressed by the efficient and unrepentantly callous way in which akito worked his criminal 'assignments', as well as the boy's calm intelligence, the Don allowed akito to rise through the ranks of the family despite his young age and non-italian heritage, eventually putting him in the position of Family consigliere.

now a feared assassin throughout the underworld and second-in-command only to the mafia Don, the boy known to his victims and clients as the 'Devil's Child' enjoys a wary respect even from those older than him, who have long heard of his ruthless precision and seemingly remorseless ways. the only person he is closer to in the mafia is darius, whom he works with when executing assignments. however, he remains exceedingly loyal to the current Don, antonio, whose father he owes gratitude to for saving his life.

as consigliere, he assists the Don in coordinating and running the affairs of the family, even taking the Don's place at meetings when the latter is indisposed.

story: the proprietor of a quaint antiques shop located behind a large multinational company, seira is well-known among the local community for his ability to procure rare antiques and his reclusive nature. however, the shop is but a front for the more sinister dealings of its equally strange owner.

once the only child of one of the highest-ranking generals in the Imperial Army and his geisha mistress, seira is now a blood sorcerer who has walked this earth for decades past, unable and unwilling to die. having been under the tutelage of the most powerful blood sorcerer, iijima seiki, seira possesses the power to grant people anything they desire - be it material or emotional - at the mere price of their soul.

is: melancholic and pensive, often retreating into his own thoughts and emotions. although more gentle than deliberately aloof, he rarely speaks to others except those he knows well, and is unwaveringly, even childishly devoted to the ones he loves.

story: yuuya is akito's elder half-brother, the illegitimate son of a funeral director and the business tycoon's wife. he was left to fend for himself in an orphanage after his mother returned to her affluent husband and his shattered father drank himself to death.

studious by nature, yuuya easily got a place in the medical school at Tokyo University (東京大學). he was later awarded a scholarship to study emergency medicine and trauma surgery at the Imperial College School of Medicine, and held internship at a local hospital. the sudden loss of his beloved in london, however, made yuuya return a broken man.

disillusioned and hoping that religion would lead him to some sort of personal salvation, he left the medical profession and entered the seminary, where he discovered that he was in fact gifted with strange and terrifying powers of exorcism. he is studying for a doctorate in Theology and Canon Law from the Pontificia Università Gregoriana, and is currently on dispatch from the Vatican, where his work is largely based. there is speculation, however, that he is responsible for the abrupt disappearance of his beloved, and some say that a disturbed and twisted soul lie behind that gentle, melancholic facade.

story: the youngest child in a family of 6, haruka had been doted on since young. she is the only girl amongst 3 elder brothers, and as a result is decidedly tomboyish in behaviour (though not really in dressing style). influenced by the numerous texts she has read, she has some slightly liberal philosophies and ideals, which both worry and amuse her parents.

against her parents' wishes, haruka enrolled in the Royal Holloway University of London to study drama and theatre. while taking a weekend tour around london, she met yuuya at the lounge of the hotel she was staying in, where he was working part-time as a pianist. his gentle nature and languid sophistication at playing the piano intrigued her, and she fell in love with him.

while in london with yuuya, however, haruka suddenly disappeared, presumably dead. 2 years after she vanished, she now appears to yuuya again, but whether she is a spectre, a figment of his imagination or something else remains to be seen...

story: the son of a prominent japanese politician, satomi has had a strict upbringing. even as a child, he was not allowed to play with other children or engage in "frivolous" activities. instead, he was forced to study hard as well as to learn the workings of the political arena. he was also trained in ancient japanese traditions and etiquette, and is rather formal in his mannerisms and language.

instead of entering politics like his father had hoped he would, satomi decided to study neurosurgery at Tokyo University. his fierce ambition and pride fuelled his desire to succeed, and satomi became one of the most outstanding students in the medical faculty, if somewhat infamous and alienated because of his standoffish nature.

although satomi has never taken interest in having a lasting relationship before, he is obsessively attracted to haruka, the daughter of his father's ex-classmate. his deep rivalry with yuuya stems from this and other reasons known only to the both of them.

story: of half-spanish, half-italian descent, antonio is the only son of the mafia Don. from young, he had made up his mind to break away from his father's bloodstained legacy, not understanding and despising what he saw as the underhanded ways of the cosa nostra. instead, he harboured ambitions of working in the criminal justice system, the very antithesis of what his father was. although disapproving, the Don eventually gave in to antonio and allowed him to eventually pursue and obtain a degree in criminology and criminal justice at the Florida State University College of Criminology and Criminal Justice.

on the way to antonio's convocation ceremony, the Don and his men were ambushed in a shootout by the rival adalfieri Family, who had long mocked and detested the garcia heir and the consigliere for not being 'true' italians. antonio, who was in the Don's car, was viciously disfigured while his father was brutally murdered. watching as his father was gunned down trying to protect him changed something in antonio, and from that day on he decided to take over as the new Don. as Don, he now aims to both ensure the prosperity of the garcia Family and gather the allegiances of the other three most influential Families - the mariottas, the grazianos, and the di salvos - to wage war against the adalfieris.

the garcia crime Family operates under the front of licensed gambling outlets, numerous construction firms, and a chain of nightclubs. in secret, however, they are involved in money laundering, extortion, bookmaking, fraud, insider trading, political corruption and black marketeering, all of which is expertly controlled by antonio.
if not the Mafia Don, he would be: a research criminologist.

story: the son of a renowned german race-car driver, darius spent the majority of his childhood days going for exhilarating midnight spins with his father, whom he looked up to. with a deep interest in racing and the growing desire to become an equally successful race-car driver, darius managed to persuade his father into teaching him the ins and outs of race-car driving.

after a serious accident on the racetrack, his father was left in a coma. watching his father hover on the brink of death and his mother perpetually sick with worry, darius began to fret obsessively about the health of his family members, plagued with obtrusive thoughts about destroying himself and his entire family. unable to concentrate on schoolwork, he left school – which he never had much interest in anyway – and joined the mafia as the getaway driver. he became a made man with the help of the consigliere akito, who enlisted his assistance to get rid of a local politician.

one of the youngest in the mafia, he is close friends with akito, although he never tells anybody, not even akito, about his recurring obsessive thoughts, preferring instead to try and forget them in the thrill of hurtling down the highways at breakneck speeds. darius' current secret ambition is to form his own alternative-emo rock band and become a famous rockstar. he has an elder fraternal twin sister, enid.
if not a getaway driver, he would be: frontman of an alternative-emo rock band.
