Applicant rules:

1. You must be a size 10 or larger. This is such a difficult and touchy subject. Our rule used to be size 14 and up, but through my own personal weight loss and taking notice of my smaller size (but still double digit size friends), I am realizing that sometimes, a size as low as 10 can be quite chubby. It depends on your height/body frame and how you carry your weight. If you're a double digit size, you're welcome to apply. For the lower size women, it will just have to be a case by case, picture proof basis.

2. You must be 18 years or older to join this community. We used to accept younger members. You can thank the wonderful new LJ terms of service nazis for the change. :)

3. Do not apply if you don’t know how to use basic HTML and LJ codes for posting pictures and using cut tags. We do not want to click on text linked pictures! Also, please resize all pictures to 600 pixels or less and make sure to rotate them, if they are sideways or upside down. You need to post at least 3 head shots and 2 body shots.

4. You must post your application and pictures within 72 hours or your application will be removed. Please do not join, if you have no intention to apply for membership. We don't mean this to seem harsh, but there are plenty of bbw communities that are open for anyone to join. After 48 hours, we give application reminders, because we understand being forgetful or busy. There will be no exceptions after 72 hours. You can reapply. However, if you join a second time and don't post within the allowed time frame, you will be banned!

5. The subject line should say, "Do I stand a chance?" Nothing more, nothing less.

6. Your application and pictures need to be behind a cut tag! This is to take up less room on the friends pages of people who have our community saved as a friend. Posting 1 teaser picture, befoer the cut is ok.

7. Your application must be filled out completely. Please be careful not to skip any questions. We all miss things, at some point, so we'll bring it to your attention when a question isn't filled out, however, refusing to answer questions could get you rejected. There are some optional questions. Rather than leaving those blank, please put N/A instead. Don’t be lame and say you don’t have favorites on the favorites section. Just pick any things at random that you like and there’s your answer!

8. Do not comment in any application except your own, until you have been accepted and stamped. You may comment in other user posts though and that is encourage, because it helps to give us a better feel on your personality. Voting will be open for 72 hours to give plenty of members enough time view your application and pictures.

9. You must have 70% yes votes to be accepted. If you have over 69% yes votes, but not quite 70% yes votes, we will look at the moderator votes. If you have 2 of 3 or more yes votes, you're in. If you have 1 of 3 or no yes votes, you're out, obviously.

10. If you are rejected, you will receive one of two different kinds of stamps. One type of stamp will say you can apply a second time, after two weeks. When reapplying, pictures must be different from those in your first application. The other type of stamps are for people we would prefer not come back. If you receive a stamp that doesn’t mention reapplying, you have offended us in some way. You have 3 tries to get in to Fat Chance.

11. Causing drama with our members will get you automatically banned.

Member rules:

1. Vote yes or no. Being honest and blunt is accepted and encouraged in this community. Any comments, suggestions and criticisms (constructive or otherwise) can be made. You do not have to give reasons for your vote, one way or the other.

2. Although being blunt and honest is acceptable, being hurtful and spiteful is not. Does this make sense? On one hand, I am tired of sugar coating my comments in rating communities. On the other hand, I do not want this community to be a dwelling of insecure jerks with superiority complexes. It is acceptable to let someone know their makeup sucks or their hair style looks horrible. It is unacceptable to imply someone is naturally ugly or to insult anything about them for the sake of your own amusement or to boost your confidence. That’s just mean and immature. “That blue eye shadow makes you look like Mimi from the Drew Carey show” is acceptable. “Why r u so ugly” is not acceptable. I was asked that exact question in a rating community, once. Although it didn’t hurt my confidence, it was still immature and rude, none the less. You have one warning. If you are out of line a second time, you will be banned.

3. Make sure you mention that you’re stamped in the subject line of every post you make.

4. Stay on topic! Promoting communities and posting Ebay auctions is allowed, but please make sure they are plus positive/curve celebrating communities and auctions for plus size/plus positive items. Please limit these things to twice a week.

5. All posts containing pictures need to be behind a cut tag for the same reason stated in the applicant rules. Make sure you mention if something you post contains nudity or mature subjects. We want to respect our members who are viewing your posts from school or work. One teaser image before the cut tag is ok, but it certainly better be appropriate for any person who might see it! Please limit cam whore posts to twice a week.

6. We will have weekly themes. Participation is not required, but is encouraged. Please mention that your post is a theme entry in the subject line of each theme post you make. Also, please put all theme entries behind a cut tag.

7. Please make sure that our community is promoted somewhere on your user information page. If your communities are visible, that is enough. However, if your communities are hidden, please link an accepted stamp to our community. If you want to link an accepted stamp even though your communities are visible, by all means, go ahead!

This week's theme chosen by [info]katykab00m is Halloween/Samhain. What kind of festivities do you enjoy taking part in to celebrate this holiday? Tell us about your most memorable Halloween and your favorite costume that you've worn. What are your favorite treats to receive while trick-or-treating and what kind of tricks do you play on others? Tell us about your plans for Halloween, this year.
