About:

Elysian Fields is a realistic fantasy play-by-post roleplaying game set in the present time, largely in another dimension called Elysia though deeply connected to Earth. Rated PG-13 with allowances for mature threads, EF provides a fun and friendly roleplaying atmosphere for people of all ages.

There are six different species to roleplay at Elysian Fields including vampires, Nymphs and Dragons with a wide spectrum of abilities and Elysian creatures to interact with. In addition to roleplay, there's always some form of out-of-character activity running and we have a lovely, friendly staff to welcome you. ^-^

This community will hopefully serve three purposes:

An emergency news blog whenever the forums are down, which doesn't happen often at all but when they do go down it's always good to know what's happening. ;)
A way to spread the word about EF to a broader audience.
A means for EF's members to get to know one another and mingle outside the forums.

If you're a member of Elysian Fields, you're welcome to join our community here on Livejournal. Membership is by admin-approval so in addition to clicking "join" you'll also need to post your characters' names in a comment on this entry so we know who you are. :)

If you aren't a member of EF or aren't interested in posting to the community, you can just watch us instead for updates. If you don't have a livejournal account, you can bookmark this community so that, in the event of forum downtime, you have someplace to check for news. ^^;

R O L E P L A Y I N G + ♥ +

On those occasions when EF is down for maintenance, it can be hard waiting for the forums to come back up just so you can roleplay. For that reason, we allow the roleplaying of Elysian-based characters here in this community. They don't have to be your regular characters if you fancy something different but please bear in mind that any roleplay here has no bearing whatsoever on in-game plots and characters.

There are no levels here and no real rules as long as you behave reasonably and keep the PG-13 rating of this journal in mind when posting. ;)

Twelve thousand years ago, Xanth fled an arranged marriage and found herself on Earth where she was mistaken for a goddess.

Over the next few thousand years, she played with the genetics of her followers to create super-powered beings. Each one wanting more and more territory, the goddess was forced to create extra dimensions in which to house them all - and so Elysia was born.

Today, Elysia and Earth are shared among the goddess's 'children' but most humans are ignorant of the beings who walk among them. Meanwhile Elysia has become a self-contained world with complex cultures and a rich history, inhabited by Xanth's creations be they humanoid, sentient, or beast.
