After establishing that the domain name has expired and that they can't retrieve my account details, IPB has asked me to set up a new domain account so they can 'push the domain onto it' so I can renew it. I'll admit to being a little fuzzy on technical specifics but the new account is created and we're just waiting on them getting it set up (I'm not sure what time it is in the USA but they're usually quite quick to respond).

In the meantime, I did try installing our cbox here (I know javascript isn't enabled but I thought an iframe would be fine). Doesn't work, sadly.

So instead, I put it up on my own website here. Now, unfortunately, the members who don't already know about this blog or my personal LJ won't know about the backup cbox either. So, I'd like to ask, if you're in contact with any of them via IM or whathaveyou, please pass on the details to this community. Anyone can post here (non-members are screened, though, so don't worry if your message doesn't appear straight away). :)

I can't say sorry enough. If it's any consolation, I've added "renew domain" to my googlecalendar as well now so hopefully this won't happen next year. <<;

It seems were were hacked yet again. From experience, I'm guessing it's only a minor hack (as in, replaced the index page rather than doing any real damage) but it means the site will be offline until the host's tech team can fix things.

Apparently, it's my bad. I was under the impression that the domain name would renew when I paid the $240+ bill for the new year's hosting and license. It didn't. We weren't hacked after all!

Which is good news, yay! :D But we have to wait until until IPB can sort this out because I can't remember the login details for their domain service (why the heck they can't just have both in the same place is beyond me).

Again, I'm really very sorry about this. Hopefully, the nice people at IPB will be quick about sorting us out. :)

And didn't I do the same thing last year? =/

It seems the forums are down with an IPS Driver Error. I'm checking into it but usually these solve themselves within an hour so hopefully that will be the case this time too. :)

I've tried logging into the cPanel to figure out why the site is down but unfortunately was given an error message. I've submitted a ticket to the host technician team so hopefully they'll back to us quickly. :)

Note: The website and chatbox are still available, you just can't access the forums. Feel free to post here even if you don't have an LJ account (entries and comments from anonymous users are screened but will be approved by myself or Dora as quickly as possible).

OK so unfortunately I had to delete EF's old emergency news blog and I know a couple of EFers are also on LJ so I figured why not create an EF community. :) This way, you guys can join the community or just watch it and if there's any news about EF during those infrequent periods when the site's down, you'll actually know what's going on.

We also figured this would be a cool way to develop our community more and get to know each other personally a bit better, as well as hopefully getting the word out about EF a bit more. ;)

It is a moderated community because we'd prefer only actual members of EF join though we're happy for anyone to watch. xD Only members of the community can post to the community, and you'll need an admin's approval to join but I'm on LJ at least once a week, usually more, so it shouldn't take too long. :D
