I can not have coherent, well thought out, well written posts every half an hour. Because I don't have a half hour to write them in, I have something closer to ten minutes, after answering the comments to the previous posts, and attempting to do anything else. I really suspect most of my interesting posts are going to happen after 8 p.m EST (when my kid goes to sleep). Meanwhile, um. Ask me questions? I can use those for topics for the next little bit. Personal, fandom related, whatever. (And I can not thank you people enough for helping me with this thing). This post is part of Day Of Blogs, 2008. I am blogging for RAINN, and you can donate here. Edited for clarity: The filter I am talking about here is for me to read other people's posts. I made it public. These blogathon posts will all be public, according to the rules of Day of Blogs. Thu, Jan. 1st, 2037, 08:10 am

"Broken Ties" offered so many lovely moments--from self-sacrifice to bubble baths. Nice to see Teyla finally making a decision about being a stay-at-home mom vs. fighting for literal universal freedom. Sat, Jul. 26th, 2008, 10:47 am
It's still something I want to do, though. Meanwhile, I wonder at the amount of personal information I wind up sharing about my life over here. I remember a time when I was at all cautious on-line. That time seems to have passed. I'm not sure why, but it may be something I visit today, too. God knows I'm going to have lots and lots of time to write and babble about all sorts of things. I'm keeping the fic-bits in reserve, for when my brain is giving me *nothing*, including babble. I would also really love to not be typing faster than my browser can keep up with. Sat, Jul. 26th, 2008, 10:54 am

...[I]f intellect and will pertain to [God's] eternall essense, these attributes cannot be understood in the sense in which men generally use them, for the intellect and will which could cinstitute His essence would have to differ entirely from our intellect and will, and could resemble ours in nothing except in name. There could be no further likeness than that between the celestial constellation of the Dog and the animal which barks. --Spinoza's Ethics In other words, even if there is a Divine Plan or Cosmic Consciousness or other smug anthropocentric supposition, the very nature of God means that it would be so far beyond us as to kick anthropocentrism in the nuggets, and we would be as irrelevant to said plan as an amoeba is to a thunderstorm. We'll spent a few days in Tokyo - I'm wondering if I want to risk the Johnny's store - and a few at the end in Sendai to see a Festival and for me to go to my concert. There's a big gap in the middle where it will just be Yaita. Day trip to Nikko, definitely, and to Utsunomiya. But I need to find fun things to do with her *worriedworried.* Okay, so Rookies - I would watch the occasional episode here and there - sports shows really aren't my thing. But the publicity really caught my attention, all the different interviews and talk shows the entire team and various members thereof have been on. I love the chemistry the entire cast has, how friendly and real they are, and I love seeing Shirota as part of a Team again when I thought after he graduated from Tenimyu I never would. So I torrented it and am giving it another chance. Wow, can I just say - Ichihara Hayato has grown up nicely. I remember that serious, dorky, slightly boring kid from Waterboys 2 and now. He has the loveliest husky voice, I could listen to it all day. I even like when he grows "Baga!" at people, which is fortunate since it happens about thirty times in every episode. And that little silent laugh that sort of bubbles out of him like he can't quite control it. (And I know Aniya is a last name but it just makes me think "girly!" every time.) Also, I love Sato Ryuta's smile so much! It never gets old, it's so big and real and happy. And I really like everyone's hair <3 (I probably said all of that the first time I watched it but my memory sucks.) SPEAKING OF MEMORY FAIL: I made a relationship chart for Iljimae because I was sooo confused. SPOILERS, maybe up to episode twelve. ( BE IN AWE OF MY L33T ART SKILLZ ) Sat, Jul. 26th, 2008, 10:38 am

It was a good shopping expedition, although all I have to show for it is a measly pillow. Sat, Jul. 26th, 2008, 09:58 am
I should really get some sleep. I got to bed around 3:00 last night and woke up around 5:50 this morning, then had to feed dogs and do other assorted unpleasant chores. Oh, and as I for whatever reason had the brilliant idea of standing around in my kitchen frying onion rings at one o'clock in the morning to cope with the fact that my fiancee can be an overwhelmingly heartless idiot sometimes, I also woke up with a nasty stomachache. Fabfab. Unfortunately, no rest for the weary--naps are pretty much forbidden whenever Butch and I are home alone together. ._. Ah well. Maybe after he leaves for the races. Until then, I'm spending quality time with my good friend StumbleUpon. I love this thing so much--I've found so many awesome wedding blogs that I never would've looked at before, and gotten so many good ideas for the ceremony. Granted, it's probably a bit too early to do anything more than the basic planning (ARGH SEPTEMBER 2010 HURRY THE FUCK UP), but it's fun to plan things. I found a nice 16-month planner that I'm planning on using, once I trim it down to make sure it only has the stuff we really need. I've even started looking at dresses~! Uwah, I'm so excited. I really, really, really need to sit down with the waifu and start talking about the budget. We're already putting money away for moving to Illinois, but we haven't really talked much about the money for the wedding beforehand. D: I hope we can work it all out in the end. Whoo, babbling. But yeah, I think that's it for now. Bye bye, darlings~~~ Sat, Jul. 26th, 2008, 09:59 am
Friday: Watched the documentry Dangerous Days, about the making of the movie Blade Runner, was very interesting. Also watched the first half of the season finale of Doctor Who's 4th season, awesome. |
