Because I'm an introvert and so terribly shy, you probably aren't aware that my urban fantasy DEAD TO ME came out yesterday. I decided to let my cohort over at the League of Reluctant Adults,
mdhenry, go crazy with promo for his HAPPY HOUR OF THE DAMNED over here yesterday, but today is MINE! I'm generous like that.
You can read an excerpt of the book over at Penguin here:

Yesterday was a whirlwind with it being my first on sale date. There was a reading at B&N in Greenwich Village, followed by questions and signing (I don't always look that suave) and then a launch party (with this fabulous cake).

Greatest lesson learned? It's hard to write witty things while signing and say witty things at the same time.
Anyway, please go out to your favorite bookseller and support me during these very important first few weeks of my undead baby's life. Writing it was half the journey; sharing it is the other. I hope you enjoy it!

--Jeri, with major cake envy
hope it was a great event and you celebrated in style.
Congrats, great cake!
I stared into the darkness, but in the pitch black of the alley there might as well have been an entire army of zombies riding in giant zombie tanks. Still, if it was zombies, I had at least read a pamphlet on them.
SO GOOD. I can't wait to read the rest. Congratulations again.
Something else you'll learn from signings--yes it's possible to misspell your own name when writing your autograph.
Cake has the power to move the world!
What's that...ah, you're a lefty. Makes sense - most creative people seem to be lefties. As a righty, I just can't win ;-)
I so want to eat that cake. How long did it last after photographic evidence of its existence? ;-)
Thanks for sharing, and have a lovely day! :-)
Hugs, Danette
