I have received a bunch of requests and I am hoping to receive a lot more. People can continue to send me requests until the end of this weekend, but I would like to get the claim process started now. Anyone interested, and even anyone who is not currently interested, please take a look at the September Wish List posted on either of my livejournals. As I get more requests they will be added, so even if there isn't anything there for you now, you can look again later in the week. Please let me know about your claim as soon as possible. How am I handling claims? Anyone interested in writing for any of the requests may either email me directly or post a comment expressing their interest. Requests can be claimed by as many writers who want them, and I am hopeful that some of them will be claimed by more than one person. Writers can claim as many requests as they want, or even write more than one story per request. However, I would like to have all stories finished by the end of the month, so don't claim a request you know you are not going to write. If you do claim a request and something unexpected happens, please let me know and I will hold your claim until you finish your story. The requesters chose how much information to give. If you have any questions about the request, let me know and I will forward your question to the requester. Finished stories should be longer than a drabble, but don't have to be huge. I am not asking you to rewrite Lord of the Rings (though there are some great versions on Twisting the Hellmouth), but they should be a good length and fulfill the request. All completed stories are to be posted by September 30 at the absolute latest (if you are really running late, stories can be put up the first week October if necessary). Completed stories must be betaed by at least one person. I am willing to beta any story, however the story must then be sent to me at least a week before deadline. That way I can return it with comments in time for any corrections that might be needed. If you want me to beta for you, either send the story to me or post the request on my personal livejournal. Stories will be posted by the author on the community as soon as they come in, and I ask that every author state whether they mind if somebody else posts or archives their story elsewhere. Having set out a nice clear list of rules, I am now going to screw them all up. Looking over the current list of requests got me thinking. The point of the community is to have a new list of requests every month, which are filled by the end of that month. While that is definitely my primary goal, looking at the requests I realized that some of them might take a lot more writing. I don't want requesters to miss out on a great story, because a claimer has now gotten an idea for a whole series or something. If when looking at the requests you think of a plot that you know will take longer than a month to write, don't be discouraged. Let me know and I will make a note saying that that claim will take longer to complete. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. LeiaDianaMinerva |
