Ok, so once upon a time, this little 'tard asked me to read and one of her fics (if you could call it that). I did so. I told her her fic should have been totally reworked because it was OoC and she needed to space it properly because the current fic was three big chunks of squooshed words. She said "ok" and she'd "do just that".

So, I wander on over to FF.Net and see said fic posted. In all of its shitty glory.

WTF, child? If you want my input and advice, why don't you USE it instead?

but it was real life instead of the internet, and the girl had two and a half people in one mary sue. it was a Dr Who/Star Trek/Sherlock Homes crossover.

she made great after-dinner conversation, though.

Actually, "what the slag?" is an acceptable term in any Transformers universe. :P So that's probably the only thing that actually makes sense in the whole thing. Haha.

And I've done some gushing when I beta-ed, but it was because the fic was seriously that good and I had no idea why they were asking me to beta (but points to them). I mean, no one was OOC, grammar was great, plot perfect, etc. I fixed one or two things in a fifty chapter story for them.

But it is usually the shit writers (in my experience) that think they are the best and the best writers who think they are shit.

To be fair, when you give concrit, the author is under no obligations whatsoever to follow it. The story may suck, but that's just what happens--you have no right to a world free of badfic. (I mean, she was polite and didn't go all fanbrat. What more can you ask for?) I often don't follow through with every agreement by betas give me.

On the other hand, the fic is pretty bad, though definitely not as bad as it can get, and it's always annoying when that happens. My sympathies.

Technically they can. Blushing is just a rush of blood to the face, and their mech fluid can do the same. :P

Good Lord. She pulled that stunt on me three times. Once I was immature for taking an interest in Discordianism. Then I was immature for telling her she writes out of character. And the last time I was immature because I mentioned my muses.
