It's tiiiiiime once again for our sort of regularly schedule state of the characters post! I think most of you know what this means but, in case you don't: basically, what this post is for is to give the game at large an update or a summary of what's going on with each of your characters. Here's our last one!

Come on, we all love to talk about our characters so here's your chance! Talk them up, talk about their development, things that are going on, reactions to the latest strangeness, things that you're hoping for in the future, holiday plans, next semester plans, plots that are upcoming, difficulties they're having, anything and everything!

For example: Umbridge: Sometimes, it's hard for me to play her because she's so intensive and tiring. But, she's having fun hexing students and pissing off teachers. I'm enjoying her games of give and take with Anakin and Wade, particularly. I'd love to see her thread more with Roy. She'll be leaving soon but not before a big explosive ending.

It doesn't have to be exactly like that but that's basically the gist. Feel free to reply to each other if you have thread or even plot ideas. So, go forth and share!

Hey, guys! Here's your friendly neighbourhood admins with the random event advent forecast of the week!

Tuesday: Ting-ding-ding-ding! Ting-ding-ding-ding! Ting-- it's Carol of the Bells! Now blasting from every stereo, alarm clock, radio, and MP3 player across the island. Sick of the season yet?
Wednesday: COOKIES! There's never too much of a good thing, is there? Fandom's putting that to the test, because opening any door will get you an avalanche of sugary baked treats.
Thursday: Swordsmen (and women. We don't discriminate) beware, all edged blades mysteriously turn into candy canes today. Try not to eat your swords and daggers, kids.
Friday: It's Rudolph the... Blue-Nosed Reindeer. Watch for a sudden and inexplicable invasion of the Teal Reindeer in town today as they come in to check on their relatives for the holidays.
Saturday: If you're not feeling the winter spirit yet, fake snow has mysteriously appeared on all windows, shaped like stars, christmas trees, and possibly the odd dirty shape or two.
Sunday: Whoops, what's that on your head? It's a Santa hat. And you can't get rid of it.
Monday: Shifting our holiday fever just a step, there will suddenly be random pieces of fruit waiting for you on every corner.

So, ever noticed how we have this great population of alumni and ex-pats who so rarely get hand-engraved invitations back to visit their beloved Fandom Island? Meanwhile, a bunch of people are trapped all by their lonesome in their own dimension, living out fanfiction lives. Well, times, they are a'changing!

Effective immediately, no more do alumni/expats need to be invited or submit a proposal to stop by Fandom for lunch or even for a few days visit!

It's been a while since this was done so I thought I'd throw this out and see how people responded. Plus it's raining so therefore I need additional entertainment.

Sometimes when you're playing in a cross-fandom setting, you start to realize that certain characters have taken on the role someone else has in canon. The point of this meme is to take a look at the canon cast list and see who in FH could be cast as the character.

For example:
- Katchoo would be Worf's Tasha Yar at FH. She has the same fiery attitude and Worf respects that type of thing.
- Cable would be Worf's Picard, especially with Nate's way of convincing him to look at matters from a different perspective. Or at least make him watch The View.

So in other words: Recast your canon using FH characters and feel free to explain us why!

Hello! With holiday times approaching, the island is once again going to decide to get into the spirit for the month of December. Every day up until the 25th, there will be a random wintery/holiday event for you to play with. And, yes, the non-weather related events can be spread to alumni and ex-pats as well.

For sake of your OCD and planning, we are going to give you the schedule a week ahead of time. Starting with December 1st, which is tomorrow!

Tuesday, Dec. 1st: Egg Nog day! Egg Nog flows instead of water. Mod it pouring out of sinks and appearing in mugs all over Fandom. Ew

Wednesday, Dec. 2nd: Tiny Christmas trees appear everywhere!

Thursday, Dec. 3rd: Random elf costumes appear on people! Go ahead, dress your character like a massive dork. Don't forget bells on their pointy shoes.

Friday, Dec. 4th: Christmas ornaments start appearing in random places!

Saturday, Dec. 5th: Marzipan rain!

Sunday, Dec. 6th: It'll start snowing powdered sugar! Mmm...

Monday, Dec. 7th: Weetiny hangover elves! They'll wander around bringing you water and other bad hangover remedies (greasy cheeseburger is the best cure btw) while humming Christmas tunes.

Continuing the trend, woo! So, we haven't done this meme in a year, wherein you just list 7 random facts about your character. Simple enough, right? We've gotten plenty of new characters since then, and if you couldn't come up with something a year ago, now you might have to cheat and add more details because 7 just isn't enough.

...Not that anyone does that. Especially not me.

There are certain characteristics about the people we play that *we* know, but we get tired of repeating in every introductory ping. There's also stuff that players wouldn't really be able to figure out just looking at an icon--how tall someone is, if they have an accent, what kind of clothes they are wearing...and in some cases, if their eyes/hair/whatever are different than the PB we've picked.

Basically this is an excuse to babble about your people some more. Give us their stats!

I'm sitting around here, doing nothing, and my family is already driving me crazy and it's not even Thanksgiving yet. So we'll do a meme to distract me.

I’m late. My first ‘Spotlight’ and I’m late! So sorry!

Okay, uhm, so the Powerpuff Girls Z (Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z) is a Japanese anime remake/homage to the American show, The Powerpuff Girls.

The Powerpuff Girls was an original Cartoon Network series that began airing in 1998. It was about three 5-year-old girls created by a scientist who was trying to create the 'perfect little girl' out of "sugar, spice, and everything nice." Unfortunately (for the bad guys) he accidentally spilled some Chemical X into the mixture and the three sisters were "born" with superpowers. They live in the City of Townsville, which happens to be next to Monster Island, where the giant invading monsters come from. There are also a few resident monsters in town, like Mojo Jojo – a former lab monkey turned criminal super genius thanks to a Chemical X accident of his own, and Fuzzy Lumpkins, a pink crazy banjo-playing hermit, as well as non-monsters that just commit crimes and make it hard for the idiot Mayor to keep being re-elected.

The show was really cool, don’t let anyone tell you different. This is probably why they decided to re-make it into an anime.

The Powerpuff Girls Z is an alternate reality from the original Powerpuff Girls. Literally. There is an episode where the Z-girls' time machine (Yes, a time machine. There's plot for it, don't worry!) goes wonky and they end up in an alternate dimension and we watch as the original Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup fly past and fight an invading monster. They even comment on it. :)

It's that VERY SPECIAL TIME OF YEAR AGAIN!!! Every year, we do an OOC Secret Santa gift exchange. The way this works is pretty easy. You sign up in this post by midnight on Saturday, November 28th. By doing so, you will be assigned a Secret Santa to make you a gift, and you'll also be responsible for a gift for someone. Emails will go out on Sunday (Optimistically, anyway. I work retail, you guys.), telling you who your RNG-assigned Secret Santa is.

You will have until December 23rd to make them gifts, and here's the catch -- you can't buy anything for them, with the exception of paid LJ time, or extra userpics, that sort of thing.

You can make as many or as few things for your Secret Santa as is convenient for you, and the notes are, naturally, just guidelines -- you don't have to follow their wishlist to the letter! (ie, I could totes hit up youcantfollow for a True Blood assist, since I know she watches, but lickyourmind would have to agree too!) In case you missed it, applications for the spring semester are officially open, and on a specific note, the librarian position is open again. If you'd like to apply for a character for this position, they should be classified as a "teacher" on the application form, but instead of a course description, tell us how your character is specifically suited for the position, and any ideas you have for better serving the school and town. Current adult characters may also apply for this position -- if that's the case, this is the only section of the application you need to fill out, besides name, rank, and serial number.
