Teh Notes

1. Background: The art of MST (Mystery Science Theatre 3000) originated from the television show, in which a human and a couple of robots were forced to watch awful 50's style sci-fi movies. To stay sane, they performed a commentary of humour and wit to the movies.

The idea behind this community is to subject fandom fanfiction to the same treatment afforded to bad movies on the show, to dissect it, to make fun of it, using the characters from the show as the audience of their own stories. Some call MSTing a form of flaming -- people with an actual sense of humour call it comedic art.

2. The Fandoms

Currently accepting fanfiction submissions from the following list (subject to change, often):

Veronica Mars
Dawsons Creek
Degrassi: The Next Generation
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
House M.D.
Supernatural
That 70s Show
Greys Anatomy

3. Harrassment: It won't be tolerated. At all. MST's are for fun. Don't write fanfiction if you can't use a spellcheck (it's real handy in Word, you just click a button and the computer does it for you!), don't know the characters at all or you can't think of anything more imaginative than, well, you know my pet peeves, hmm?

4. Submissions: Please send your MST submissions to fandom_mst@yahoo.com with a link to the posted fanfiction, the title of the fanfiction, the name of the author, the site(s) it was posted at and a brief overview of the first chapter/story. All submissions are anonymous and we'll only MST stories that are recommended to us.

5. Ships: I'm entitled to write my MSTs from whatever ship or character perspective I choose. I might not always have the same ships or insult the same characters, but if I insult your favourites, then there's nothing I can do about it. Flame me and you get thrown out of the comm.
