You take the good. You take the bad. You take them all, and then you'll have the facts of life.
The facts of life.
It's nigh on Noon here in Beantown and I'm just about to jump in the shower. I have an afternoon of Trig waiting for me that I really wasn't looking forward to doing, until I found some rather fantastic news.
See, I was paying bills and balancing off my check book when I stumbled upon my most up-to-date credit score.
Oh yeah, there's some horn tooting here because my credit score? Phenomenal. Seriously, if there's one thing I do right, it's paying off debt like a mofo.
SO while I may be busting my ass while trying to get my pickled and aging brain to absorb the specifics of Identity Functions, I can relax with the idea that I am ahead of the game known as Being a Grown up.
I'm kind of digging this whole "perspective" thing.
Off to the Math Mines with me!

The Ideal 2 Day Movie Marathon Extravaganza
Day 1
Casino Royale (2006)
The Bourne Supremacy
Die Hard
Batman Begins
Mad Max 2
Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade
The Terminator
and if there's time: The Matrix
Day 2
Léon (The Professional)
True Lies
Airforce One
Conspiracy Theory
Blade
Lara Croft Tomb Raiser: The Cradle of Life (or maybe Tomb Raider, I can't make up my mind 100%)
Bad Boys
As you can see my favourite genre would fall under the "Action/Adventure" category. xD Although I could probably muster up a decent comdey movie marathon list as well.

There's an article in this week's Entertainment Weekly about Doctor Horrible's Sing-a-Long Blog. Definitely worth checking out. One of the things they mention in the article is the extras that'll be going on the DVD whenever it comes out.
Here's what Joss has to say about it: "We want to have languages: French, Spanish, Japanese translated back very badly into English, classical Latin, and panther noises. We'll definitely be doing an original musical commentary. It will run the length of the thing as an actual commentary, but it is an all-original musical. It's "Commentary!"
"And, yes, there very well may be a 'Horrible' sequel." (emphasis EW's)
A musical commentary called 'Commentary!' This DVD needs to be out yesterday.

Now back to your regularly scheduled Doctor Who obsession. And/or homework.

Dropping $40 on comics is the same as doing Trig homework, right?
When I get over a knitting drought, it's usually because I have a design idea that involves some sort of shaping or construction fiddling that appeals to my sense of clever or elegant design. This one isn't terribly elegant, but it's extremely functional, so I'm happy. It's also twice as big as I'd intended, but that's OK too. XD

You won't see this, as you're at Comic Con, possible working at a sketch booth. And that is just so fitting, so you. Because you're always interested in being with people, interacting, having good conversation, having spastic fanboy/girl/person conversation, giving and taking advice, making people feel sososo good about themselves and about their place in fandom.
You are always willing to help out and you genuinely want to make things better for others. I am certainly not alone in being hopelessly in love with your art, your ability to capture and project an entire canon/fanon in one picture, to essentially, make all our fandom dreams come true. Because of that, you will never be forgotten, and I will never forget your art, but I think more than your art I will always remember how absolutely GOOD you are. You are goodness personified.
And that got a little longer than I had planned. So happy effing birthday, I hope you have a great time! :D <333333333333333

birggitt. Prompt: Dresden Files, Harry/Bob, "I'm a grown up man, now!"
( HARRY: You know, I'm a grown-up man now, Bob. I don't need you to pick my clothes for me. )

_unhurt_, who requested "joe and billy. roadkill (of the fuzzy animal kind rather than the film)." She did NOT request cracky dS x-overs, but, um, too bad. ALSO this is totally now my personal canon for why Fraser didn't last in Moose Jaw. Nasty little incident with HCL. Not sure what it was, exactly, but I'm sure it was both surreal and awesome.
( BILLY: Fuck! You said you were okay to fucking drive! )
for
snoopypez, who wanted "the boys watching Psych."
( VECCHIO: I don't get it. Why doesn't he just become a cop? )
In other news,
mrs_laugh_track said something last night about Fraser tackling Vecchio, and I suddenly realized that once he was confident in the relationship, Fraser would be all about the horseplay. My brain then went offline for several minutes. WHY HAVE I NOT ALREADY READ THIS???
In other other news,
blackcurrant wrote a fucking amazing backstory fic for the Joker: A Penny For a Spool of Thread/ A Penny For a Needle: Five Ways the Joker Probably Did Not Learn to Sew. It is awesomely awesome and features the Joker back when he was working on being the Joker but wasn't quite there yet (totally one of my kinks! cf. Young Paul Gross's acting in "Chasing Rainbows").
Firefox lost eight thousand billion of my tabs yesterday. I apologize if I didn't comment on something I really ought to have commented on. :( Plus there was totally more stuff I meant to link to. Grrr.

So I asked my friend once, "You know what my favorite Kinks song is?" Now in my mind I was thinking of Come Dancing. You know, 'cause I like the melody so much.
But, knowing me so well, the answer I got (very quickly) back was Lola.
I had to laugh, of course. How could I have even missed that? I have to admit that my interests can border on obsession sometimes. It's the reason why I love a particular comic so much. But was I really so influenced by certain 70's and 80's cartoons and certain 60's sitcoms? Has my brain really been irreparably warped from my mispent youth, watching badly written TV shows? Did they ever stop to think that the drivel they were churning out would touch such impressionable young minds and forever corrupt the next generation? Maybe.
Maybe it's not their fault and I would have found this all on my own anyway, 'cause I'm just like that! If that's the case then I have to thank them for putting that stuff up on the tube when they did. Right time, right place.
If I wasn't so lazy I think this pent up desire and frustration would have turned me into a mad scientist villain twenty years ago. And you would have had to fear me. Thank the gods you never had to incur my wrath, mu-ha-ha.

Words can't do justice to how fantastic I feel thanks to last night's 8 hours of sleep. For serious, sleeping late is truly the cure for what ails you, if what ails you is a massive amount of stress.
I've a totally new lease on tasks today, and it's kind of awesome.
Today I will:
- Complete work-related tasks that have finally come together
- Finish drabble
- Learn Trig identities from another text book, because I'm clearly not learning them from the one I'm using for class.
Tonight I will:
- Stop by the comic store and pick up the new Turtle book, along with Cable & Deadpool Trade #2
- Do Laundry
- Balance my check book/pay bills
- Continue to learn trig identities so as to be able to complete my homework, and my quiz, come Monday
Tomorrow I will:
- Sleep late
- Straighten room
- If you guess continue learning Trig identities....you just won yourself a small bite-sized portion of the internets.
Also this makes me smile.
