And we're OFF! And we're starting.

The nominees for the fandoms have all been added to the lists. Now it's time to start sending in those prompts and thinking about what you'd like to write.

The sign ups will last until the end of this month. We will try to get the assignments out post-haste, because I'll be out of the country for part of May.

Dates
Sign-Ups End: May 1st (Midnight, Hawaii Time. Actually, any time before I get up Saturday, May 2.)
Assignments: given by May 9th (We haven't done this before, I'm not sure how long it will take us.)
Stories Due: between July 1 and July 31.

Hello.

I'm one of the new moderators for Family Haven. I also moderate [info]numb3rs_gen_het, [info]numb3rs_xovers and [info]numb3rs_scene

As you can see, I'm mostly into Numb3rs (at the moment).

My co-mod, JLM110108, is new to the modding gig. However, she has participated in several writing challenges for Numb3rs.

I'd have another round of Family Haven stories. Shall we get started?

Apologies and Announcement [Sep. 6th, 2008|06:50 am]

I'm sure everyone noticed round two didn't go as smoothly as round one, and that owed a great deal to the fact that [info]thekatebeyond and I both sort of dropped the ball here at the end. We didn't intend to, but between life and other commitments, [info]family_haven suffered. For this, I extend sincere apologies on behalf of the both of us. We wouldn't co-mod this thing if we didn't want it to succeed, and we should have kept on top of it all the way through.

With that in mind, I have an announcement for all of you who don't already know. [info]thekatebeyond is taking a hiatus from online life to deal with real life issues. This is something I don't begrugde her at all, because I know it's important, something she really needs to do for herself and her family.

As for me, I have entirely too many projects as it is, so I've decided to wrap up round two by adding fics to the master list that aren't already there, and then allow [info]family_haven to hiatus along with its moderators. This was [info]thekatebeyond's brainchild and baby, so for me to continue without her just doesn't seem right.

Though, I doubt she'd want it to die, even if only for a little while. So, I'm going to offer this option: anyone interested in filling in as temporary mods until [info]thekatebeyond and I return, please feel free to comment to this entry to begin a discussion. I'd feel best about it if there could be at least two temporary mods, as I don't think one mod could do it alone.

If no one comes forward, then [info]family_haven will be on hiatus until further notice.

Again, apologies to everyone for the not-so-smooth round two.

Summary: Shawn deals with the aftermath of his mom's revelation about his dad, or not.

Author’s Notes: This story was written for the 2008 Family Haven Ficathon. This is not a death-fic. It has a sequel that will be posted on my LJ this weekend. All that has been written is a result of careful observation of the characters and coming to a few conclusions. This takes place after the season 3 premier so it contains spoilers for it. I want to thank SciFi Lemon for the hand holding, Grey for helping me come up and develop this idea and cracking with whip, the guys over at little_details for the medical info and some of the crazy ideas for this fic, and last but not least, Val for the fast/last minute beta and support.
