Recommendations for synthetic dread installers in the NY/CT area would be swell too. |

A couple of questions:
1. How do you store your synth dreads/hair/tools when not using them? Pictures would be ace! I'm looking to expand my storage from a large plastic bag to something with a semblance of order (mmm Ikea boxes) and am looking for ideas.
2. Does anyone have any tried and tested methods of attaching DE synths into natural dreadlocks. I made the leap to natural dreads just less than a year ago, and whilst I love them, I miss my synths and their prettiful colourfulness so often like to put them in. I have yet to find a method that works for me without hurting my head, possibility of damaging my natural dreads or causing weak spots. Anyone have any ideas?
3. I have a kanekelon wig that I braided about ten million dreads into last year for fun, and took them out again recently because I needed some of them to loan to a friend for an install. Anyway, as you can imagine the wig is vair vair curly in places. I need to be able to straighten it out but I don't want to damage the wig or melt the hair or whatever. Again, any ideas on how to solve this little problem? I'm planning on making more dread wigs in future but this particular one I would just like as a plain one.
Thanks in advance :) |

| Back in blue! |
[Jul. 5th, 2009|04:19 pm] |
Finally after about a two year wait I decided to go back to my traditional turquoise blue! And I've never felt better about it! I'm super excited and have curly at the back and straight at the front. I've officially decided that this is my new favorite way to wear my hair! Here are some pictures of myself hoola hooping and hanging out with my lovely friend Laura who is also sporting some of my dreads, I got to dress her up for the day and it was super fun!
( Look at the pretty pictures! )

Ok so this is the second and 3rd attept at transitional swirls/candycanes. I think it turned out rather well. I have a ton of hair that needs used up and these colors I have a few packs of so I plan on making a premade set with them. I'm not sure if I should 1) make a whole set in the de's with full swirls, 2) a set with only a few whole swirls, or 3) a set with just a few harliqins. I could also sell these a just accents for someone to add to a set of falls or whatever. I dunno what would be best. I just want to stay busy and make some money back out of the 60+ packs of hair I have laying around here ya know! ...lol! Any feedback much appreciated!

| Fake hair advice vlog. |
[Jun. 24th, 2009|06:54 pm] |
I'm starting up a vlog series where people send in questions about fake hair and I answer them in a video either by explaining it, or demonstrating it. These questions can be about any of the following: Synthetic dreads Cyberlox Foam falls Plastic falls Human hair extensions Clip in hair extensions ANYTHING FAKE HAIR!
Questions about how to make (and install) synth dreads or where to get materials won't be taken into account, because I have already covered a tonne of tutorials and info for that.
Questions submitted should be about less frequent queries such as "installing cyberlox into your hair" or "changing SE's to DE's".
If I can't answer a question, I will ask somebody in the community to help out and give the answer on their behalf.
To submit a question, please fill out the form below and email it to me either via myspace.com/rivetlickercyberhair or directly to rivetlicker[@]yahoo.com.au (no brackets around the @).
Disclaimer: By submitting your question, you give me permission to mention your name and location in a video. Under no circumstances will any of your contact details be mentioned anywhere in my video or on my channel.
SEND THEM IN!!!

| Clip in Bangs! |
[Jun. 16th, 2009|06:58 pm] |
Hey everybody!
I want some clip-in bangs because I'm too chicken to cut mine blunt. My hair's a pretty weird color right now, it's kind of between pink and strawberry blonde, so I'd really prefer to dye the bangs myself. My problem is that the only clip-in fringes I can find are either synthetic hair or just trimmed wefts (where the weft would just be totally obvious on my head.)
Does anybody either
1. Have advice or a good tutorial on making my own clip-in bangs out of a weft? Or
2. Know where I can get a human hair clip-in fringe?

[Jun. 7th, 2009|08:31 pm] |
Anyone know how to get cigarette smell out of a synthetic wig? Im not sure what its made out of, but its quite good quality, it passes for real hair. I washed it with shampoo and it smells a bit better, but I can still smell the cigarette smell. TIA <3
EDIT: Thanks guys! Ill try the febreeze since thats what ive got on hand :) I thought about using it, but wasnt sure if it would hurt the hair or not :) Thanks again!! |

| silvery curls |
[Jun. 7th, 2009|10:03 pm] |
New partially curly dread falls for returning customer:

In these falls we used 10 de's from her older falls. Those dreads were attached into a removable mini fall, and both of the falls can still be used as complete. |
