Hey, my peepies. I have Veronica Mars icons for you again. I'm at home with the lurgy today so I decided to use my sick time productively. It's probably not especially normal to be off work with a stinking cold and spend the whole time making 50+ icons, but I'm not especially normal.

I warn you, though, I'm probably not at my wittiest. I am gross and spluttery.

Anyway. Veronica Mars! The best show on television at the moment. I love it so. I've been gradually making icons since I started watching it, but for ages they sucked and then suddenly I got the hang of it (the caps have slightly unusual lighting and so need special treatment. It's... well, annoying. But solved now!) and I made a zillion. And I've been meaning to post them for ages but every time I think of it, I go 'Oooh, I should update the text on that one' or 'Oooh, that sucks'. Etc.

Still, they're here now.

Yay! I've finally seen Goblet of Fire (twice) and it rawks. It so does.

So, I present you lots of icons ripping the piss out of it.

*g* I nitpick because I love. And I mock because I love. And I make lewd jokes because I love. And I routinely accuse all the Potter boys of being gay because I love.

And I'm sure about half the people on my flist will be saying 'She's back!' because many years ago, when I started this icon journal, I was known for my funny icons. Then I got all serious and arty. Anyway, I'm back with the sick icons and there's a whole new bunch of you I can warp with my sense of humour.

So, here's the thing. That's how I begin all my posts, ever.

And, also, this is the thing I meant. There's this whole thing going on in the icon world, because in the Goblet of Fire book, Hermione has a blue robe (not a dress! Why does no one moan about that, huh?) and in the film, she has a pink dress. And there are all these icons, much like the one I'm using now (unless you're viewing this far in the future when I've deleted that icon, in which case you're looking at my default), which have the ball shots of Hermione wearing a blue dress, via Photoshop trickery. So, I have decided to iconise the wank. Cos, it is wank. Fairly peaceful wank, but wank nonetheless.

Ok, I made some more Serenity icons, seeing as my last lot were so popular. :) Seriously, you guys, I wasn't expecting that. And these probably aren't as good. But, y'know, I try.

Please, please, please don't go away and make an exact copy of this icon. That completely defeats the purpose of a tutorial. Use these techniques to come up with something new. Use a new texture! Use a new image! Change it all around! That's what tutorials are for. By all means recreate this icon for learning purposes, but don't then post it and claim it as your own - it's not your own, is it? It's mine. Sorry, but I've had tutorials recreated to the letter before, and it's really annoying. Don't do it.

Ok, I finally sat down and made a bundle of GoF icons, because I have like a zillion images saved on my computer, and really, they need to be iconed. I am very, very excited about this movie. Cuaron really set such a new precedent with PoA, they can't avoid the darkness anymore. So, yay! Deaths and all sorts, hurrah, hurrah! And, look! Eeeebil dark greeen layout! Mweee!

I hate having to post things through Photobucket. Because I have my own, very pretty domain name, all about me, and not being able to use that pisses me off. It’s because – and I know you’re wondering – we just moved house, and don’t have the internet at home yet. When we do, I can hook up CoreFTP again. I was going to install it here, at work, but I worry about getting caught.

Anyway, I bring you icons from the woooorld of the Miiighty Boosh. Which most of you probably won’t have heard of, but hey. It’s a very funny British comedy show, but it’s exceedingly weird, and you have to be either high or exceedingly weird to appreciate it. I am the latter, and I love it.

Ok, here we have my first - but definitely not only - lot of Serenity/Firefly icons (there are, like, two from the series, but there's so no point splitting them up).

Yes, I've seen it, a full two weeks before it's due to open in the UK. And it's freaking amazing. I got free tickets to a 'mystery preview screening' by Empire magazine on Monday - all we knew was that it was a film by Universal that wasn't out yet, that would excite the geeky readers of a movie magazine. Oh, and the tickets were referred to as 'shiny'. Yeah, we had our suspicions, and we were right! Seriously, you guys, it's so good. Even if you don't think you're a fan, you should go, I bet you'd like it. It makes Revenge of the Sith look like the complete and utter shit that it was.

You're not allowed to disagree with that statement, by the way. My journal. Mine. *glare* Well, ok, you can disagree, but if you try and post defending the abysmal writing skills of a man who refers to dialogue as 'sound effects' I will just ignore you. And mock you, probably.

I’ve removed everyone who was listed as a member of this journal. From now on, you just have to friend this journal, you can’t join the community. Basically there was no point having an option to join. No one else was ever going to be allowed to post except for me, and it made the userinfo page look very cluttered, and I like things neater. Also now I can keep a record of everyone who has friended me. And, 200+? Awww, you guys.

Expect the final batch of Harry Potter icons for 100of__ by the end of this week. I’m also starting a set of Sin City icons, and a few Spaced ones for abc_icons (which aren’t finished yet, but again, by the end of the week).

Also, I’m currently writing a tutorial which should be finished by the weekend. There’s a new tutorial on how to do effective tiny text here, for you beginners.

I’m currently closed for icon and layout requests, as I’ve been inundated by requests from my fabulous friendslist, but once I’ve got through all of them I might open up requests on here again.

You may have noticed that I have a new layout. Because I have a permanent account on my personal lj now, I’ve transferred my paid time over to this journal, and I think I’ll be keeping up a paid account here. So, I’ve added tags to all the entries – you can see them listed in the side bar, just click on the subject that interests you and those posts will come up. So if you’re just here for Harry Potter, click those tags.

I’m aware that probably half the people who have friended this journal – if not more – did so for the funny icons I used to post. I’m also aware that I haven’t posted funny icons for a while (ok, the odd one, but nothing particularly great). I promise I will start making funny icons again. I think my icons have become far too serious, and while pretty icons are nice, there are many of them, and there can never be enough funny icons. So, more, soon, I promise.

I leave you with this tantalising piece of information. If you search the photos of the Waterstones (London, UK) launch of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince on mugglenet, you will see a photo of yours truly. See if you can guess which I am.
