Hello Fellow Faeries!
I havent posted here in a while, but trust me I still look every day(I am, after all, one of the mods!) :)
I wanted to annouce two things:
First, who else is going to FaerieWorlds this year?? I am! Im very excited because it is my first time going! I'll be vending my Faerie Art Work and my Faerie/Nature Jewelry at the Fairy Court booth there.
I would love to meet some fellow lj members/artists!

My first Fairy wings

This is my fist pair of panty-hose Fairy wings. I made them for my niece, Lilly, and I think she likes them:)
(I have permission from my sister to post photos of her daughter).

I had a little bit of tearing in the fabric of the wings, but otherwise, turned out really nicely!:) Now I want to make another pair at some point, but for an adult.:D

What do you think?

-By the way, she was amusing herself by making noises from her lips with her fingers...that's why she has her fingers up to her mouth:D So cute!!

Perhaps this might be a rather dumb question, but to those who have sold wings on eBay or etsy, how on earth did you ship them?! I have made wings plenty and sold to some people locally, but now that Halloween is coming up (since it’s probably too late to sell to those going to Faerieworlds) I was considering opening shop and selling a bunch but I’m trying to figure out a way to ship them properly.

And I looked up vendor fees for Faerieworlds because I was considering opening some there but considering people buy wings to GO there I would imagine people would NOT buy wings there or am I completely wrong? I'm also hoping to go there next year to get some good photographs and set up some photoshoots I've already done with some people. My main concern is with shipping wings properly though (cheapest way).

Oh yes, and 'Ello to everyone since I've never posted on here before!

Hello All!

I am fairly new to this community, and I think all this faery talk is QUITE fabulous!

I make things! Most of it would not necessarily qualify as being for the fae folk, but some imagination might make one think otherwise...

Dark faeries, faeries who frolic in Victorian gardens, faeries who wait backstage at Caberet shows to "borrow" little items from the talent, and faeries fond of esoterica might want to get their hands on some of the things I have to offer.

I made these a long time ago, but forgot to post them! I just found a picture of them while cleaning out my photobucket account. lol So I made these for a two year old adorable little girl that I babysit. She likes them, and when she's not wearing them, they hang on the wall of her bedroom. She's such a sweetie. They're about a foot and a half across. I dont' have a pic of her wearing them. *note to self to get one*

I posted some designs up here ages ago, But to trigger everyones memory, for my big uni project for the year i designed and made costumes, body paint, wings etc for a funky take on Shakespeare's Titania and Oberon.

I was very happy with the finished products which were modelled by two of my close (and very sexy!) friends, and the photos were taken by a photographer friend of mine.

Crystal Tara is now selling New Brian Froud Faerie wear! I just got my dress and Tank top in today. The dress has "Kissed by pixies" and the tank is "Topsy Turvey" from the good/bad faeries book! They said that they would start selling it only at faerieworlds www.crystaltara.com. There is some other really neat stuff and faerie inspired art too. I just love Brian Froud and just wanted to share the world of faerie to my beloved fae folk.

I need horns! And fast!
Faerieworlds is coming up and my lame attempts at horn making will simply Not Do for the costume I'm working on. So I need to buy some really awesome horns. I was going to get a set from the amazing cromgellstwen who makes some really amazing horns, but the time crunch won't suffer overseas shipping... I need to find someone in the US.
Who do you guys love the most? And who has super fast shipping?
I nkow horns have been talked about alot, but I always thought I'd be able to do them well myself when I needed them... So I only bookmarked one or two horn sites.

For those of you interested I saw Hellboy 2 and it has some pretty amazing, I thought, representations of the darker side of the fae. The troll market was incredible and very Labyrinth like with many differently faceted fae characters. Anyway, I thought the Hellboy story was ok, but the costumes and creatures were really well done.

Does anyone have faerie ear tips that they just LOVE and a corresponding website? I know some people get them at faires and such, but I need to order mine pronto if I am going to have them to wear with the scale mail costume at D*con. I have not worn them before. I have a small head and am looking for as realistic as I can get for a reasonable price (in other words not huge anime ones). My natural hair is very short and will not cover the ear attachment area at all. I have a wig I may wear with the costume, but would like to be able to just wear them with my natural hair also and have them look good. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Last minute costume

For a con last weekend I was in need of a new costume. Since I had about no time to sew a new one, I scrambled together something out of the remains from my wardrobe. I made the corset and the horns. Whatever creature this is that I invented here ;) I like to believe it's some sort of companion like in the Firefly series due to the oriental style mix. I know, that probably no self respecting companion would be wearing horns, but it's a nicer costume title than just some weird sort of oriental changeling ;)

Looking for fairy pendants

A while back I came across a website of sterling silver charm/pendants. It wasn't the typical fairy charms you see, as these were the artist's own collection and work.

The only thing that would make these stand out in anyone's memory is that the artist has a general catalogue and a monthly "set". August might be a small tiara, oak leaf, acorn, fairy slipper and a squirrel, May might be a fairy ring, a ladybug, a daffodil and another type of fairy shoe. She only has last two months and the current month on her website. I'm really interested finding this place on the web again.

Has anyone any idea?

Brace Yourself.....

On a FREAKIN' UNICORN!

So the first photo is in a tiny Adirondack Chair given to Evie by our Boss' Marc and Sue here at camp in Long Lake, NY. You can see the beautiful lake in the background. The unicorn is a horse here at camp named Sky. She is awesome! Nothing bothers her, not unicorn horns, fairy wings or squealing babies. She's a grey and white paint with one blue eye...how perfect is that! I took one look and made a horn and talked the horse riding staff into helping me (it was easy)! I mean, how often do you get to have a picture taken with a unicorn! It's so awesome I COULD DIE!!! And don't worry, I was holding her, I just photoshopped out my butt and hand (excuse my ineptness with photoshop). I don't know how I could ever top this photo for sheer cuteness. But the camp does have a giant outdoor chess set.....

Goblin Horn Necklaces!

Goblins shed their horns, just like deer. These horns were found and had holes drilled through them. Some are from baby goblins, so they are tiny. Others are from older goblins, so they are larger with jewels in them.

No goblins were harmed in the making of these necklaces.
