Here's my very first FOTD! I took the photos on my MacBook and it's dark in my apartment no matter where I go, but I may try our tiny bathroom next time! :D
Anyway, I've been watching this community for a little while now and I love all of your looks! I just figured I'd start posting some of my own and hopefully next semester I'll have a camera so these won't look so bad. But I was just experimenting with some things and came up with this...

So last night I ran into the owners from the beauty school I attended. They didn't seem to approve that I was pursuing a career (although I'm sure they didn't see it as a career) in makeup, rather than working in some lame salon somewhere.

I feel supported.

This is my 3^rd day of my 25 days of the season. The inspiration for this one was Christmas trees I stuck mostly with greens, but I probably could jazz it up with more colors. I actually really like this one.

So, today I'm going to visit my sick cousin, and since we are going after school, I'm almost certain some of her other friends will be there. Her friends don't exactly like me, and I don't exactly like them, so I wanted to do makeup that was simple, elegant, poised and most of all, polite.

This is my first 25 days of the season look.
I need a new brown liquid liner… this one is sooo shiny that it looks like crap.
Anyways this is inspired by traditional Christmas colors. Nothing too complicated. I’m super excited for this project!

I actually wanted to recreat a past FOTD but it turned out differently. Oh well.

Eyes: Bare Study PP, HIP Teal cream eyeliner, Gorgeous Gold, Electric Eel, Plummage, Blanc Type, Fabuliner in black, Black eyekohl by MAC, Rimell Sexy Curves mascara.

Eyebrows now in Ground Brown and Carbon, look better??

Face: Igh, I ran out of my foundation. It's Jane tinted moisturizer in medium, which is actually too dark so I mix it with lotion when i put on my face. Rimmell Transluscent Powder, Love Joy blush.

Hello ladies,

If this isn't allowed, feel free to take this down.

I'm really trying to challenge myself, and found if i pick a theme, it works well. With the holidays coming up, there's a lot of inspiration to draw from, so I want to do a 25 days of Christmas/winter kinda theme. However some of my ideas don't seem..."Wearable" in like everyday life.

How do you all go about translating something into more of a working make up? Or do you just say F it and go for it?

Also was wondering if anyone has a berry looking color they recomend? And lastly, has anyone used Eve Pearls HD Dual foundation?

I had seen a picture in the inspiration memories section of a girl's face covered in dotted lines like plastic surgery markings. And there was some sort of caption about "perfection". Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Or have this picture to share? I didn't save it and I'm kicking myself because it seems I lost it forever. I have scoured all the inspiration posts and came up empty (a few of the posts are all expired photos tho!)... If you know what I am talking about, please share! :) I am looking for any and all kinds of inspiration pics related to plastic surgery.

I have to do a studio photoshoot sometime in the next few weeks. I’m a belly dancer, and I need some pics for possible agency/gigs so I really need to look my best. I’d quite like to go for the whole “arabic eyes” look which I would normally use for a performance, but I’m wondering what will work best on camera? The photo has to be waist or hip length, so it won’t be a close up of my face.

I’ve been looking up links for photography makeup, and the general rule is “slap it on” but most of them are recommending natural makeup as opposed to something a bit more full on. Although I will be contouring my face and so on...and I think I would rather look natural if heavy makeup would drown out my features...any opinions?

Any advice would be gratefully received, esp if you’ve worked with studio photography or anything. Thanks!

So i started school on Wednesday. We did absolutely nothing... but i got my kit. So much stuff, but the most important thing was the makeup kit. Ofra? i've never heard of it but then again i buy the cheap shit cause i'm poor. Haha. i'm so excited to start i guess next week i can start taking appointments for facials and wraps? i also applied for a counter job at Younkers, so we'll see.

Well, OK, it's really only 4 days worth, but still :)

I've been doing productive stuff, at least. Still just doing smokey eyes or natural stuff, so no FOTDs from meeeee. BUT this past weekend I did some makeup for a short film. Vampires and zombies. The zombie was such a funny guy. Loves it.

haha it's only been almost a month since Halloween *cough*
I'll never be up to date on things I swear.
The joy of being a senior in college, so much to do, so little time.

So, it's been a while since I've done makeup good enough to take pictures and post it online.
Being a total nerd, I recently re-read and re-watched the 2001: A Space Odyessy series, and was inspired to do some makeup based of it.

I'm sure this has happened to every single one of you at some point, at least I like to think that I can't be the only one who is so clumsy!

I was putting on some pressed shadow and the container slips from my hand and lands on the floor. Pretty pressed shadow -> a million flakes. It's still usable, of course, but it comes on uneven and small pieces of dust always fall from the edges and smudge your fingers which in turn smudge your face. Not very nice.

Now, is there something I can do in order to redeem it? Any suggestions in order to make it more manageable welcome. Is it possible to turn it into a cream shadow for example?

Help a makeup noob out... :/

What is a good blush for an interview, when you have NW20 skin? The only real blush I have (besides a crapload of MSFs) is Nuance m/b. I was told to look for something kind of neutral, but I dont really know what that would be for my shade. I have an interview for a very prominent advertising agency in town and need whatever make-up advice I can get.

this past weekend, there was a bunch of exciting hello kitty related events i got to be a part of, so here are some pictures of how my make-up ended up looking! i was also fortunate enough to be hired as a make up artist for the fashion show on saturday, so there's pictures of the models as well. :]

most of the make-up used is from the Sugarpill line that the talented Miss Shrinkle created. Her online store is set to be open this month!! BE EXCITED, THIS STUFF IS AWESOME. i got to try it thanks to this wonderful opportunity. :D
