I'm currently working on bleaching my hair to blonde - I want to stay lighter than my natural color right now 'cause I'm sick of my natural color (super dark brown - and it's not a pretty brown when short... it just looks mussy, blah) so... here's my dilemma. I have black eyebrows. I don't want to look like a hobag with dark eyebrows & light hair. So I actually am thinking of bleaching them, then using the light brown I used previously on my hair, so they still look somewhat natural when I go blonde... I've seen on tv, they just cover their eye, then cover the eyebrow. Is this how I would go about it?

hiii...so i would definitely say that i'm obsessed with eyebrows. i love them--looking at nice ones, pressuring my friends into letting me do theirs...all that. and since you guys love them, too, i was hoping you could look at mine and give me some feedback.

please ignore my facial expression )
thanks!

Is there a tutorial somewhere that shows how to pluck or pencil in your eyebrows to look like Marilyn's? I'm growing out my brows to match my new haircut/style. Thanks!

Hey there, I'm new! I love eyebrows.

I have a question; In my early teenage years I was a bit overzealous with my tweezers, and now I'm really regretting it. In some areas, my eyebrows no longer grow, and need to be penciled in. I've had years of practice, many of my friends don't even notice or realize it, but *I* always notice. I am a bit self concious that they look fake and too dark. I'm fair skin, but have naturally REALLY dark hair, so it's tough finding a balance.

Is there anyway, ANY WAY at ALL to stimilate growth in these areas again? I might resort transplant or something one day, but only as a LAST resort. I'm willing to try anything, I don't want to pencil in my brows for the rest of my life, and I certainly don't want to have permanent make up done. If you have any suggestions, or now of any products, please let me know.

Old Photo of my mother and her drawn brows (mm...can't see them great but my favorite photo of her♥) Circa 1981 - eight years before I was born. She's the one with the flattop(ish) do.

I totally have the most kick ass mother in the world.

i got really lazy with my brows for a while and they grew out to their original state.
i missed them being all shapely and girly.
using a brow pencil i drew in how i wanted them to be and tweezed everything outside the line.
i drew in really dark, but discerning between line and hairs would have been much easier if i used a lip liner or eyeliner in some crazy shade.
this really helped when it came to defining the arch.

pictures later.

I just went through and weeded out deleted journals from the members list and gave the layout a fall makeover. It's definitely viewable with Firefox, but if anyone using another browser (IE, Netscape, etc.) has any trouble viewing things, let me know.

And if anyone has any ideas for this place, for any aspect of it, don't hesitate to let me know that as well.

Thanks,

Permanent Makeup? [ Tuesday
September 26th, 2006 at 9:15pm ]

Hiya. I know this was just asked a few posts ago but..I'm looking for a place to get my eyebrows permanently done, in the Los Angeles area.

mine grow in just a little past the arch and are light in color - i'd like them extended, shaped and filled in a bit. Has anyone here had this done and could recommend a place? or - anywhere i should stay away from, perhaps?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a photo of them at the present - filled in with an angled wet eyeshadow brush. That's the shape i'd like.

annoying eyebrows [ Tuesday
September 26th, 2006 at 2:00am ]

freebishchick
so i've been messing up my eyebrows more and more over the last couple of months. I figured livejournal has every thing else, so I looked for an eyebrow community...and voila! Anyway, I used to have nice full eyebrows, and I decided one day that I wanted them arched...well I got plucking and plucking, and you know how that goes..I got a little carried away. Now they are super thin, one is sort of arched and one isn't. Basically I want to grow my eyebrows back to what they used to be. Is my only option letting them grow in and dealing with them looking like crap? My problem is once I start to see the hair growing in I feel the need to pluck it so they don't look even worse! Any advice would be appreciated!

I have an eyebrow scar and when I first got it I took out the hairs in it out, thinking that was okay (what was I thinking!?) Now the hair DOES not grow back in that area, so I have a chunk out of it. Is there any way to get it to grow back or is it gone forever?

2nd, I kinda have a unibrow trying to start. Of course I tweeze it to death to prevent it from starting, but it grows back so fast it's like I have to do that everyday. HELP!

Covering up eyebrows? [ Monday
March 6th, 2006 at 10:29pm ]

monkey_kong
I'm going to a GLBT youth drag show in a couple of weeks and I am having difficulty finding a good way to cover up my eyebrows. I read that using a gluestick to get them to stay down and then using makeup to cover them up works really well, but I tried it and although I COULD get them flat, you could still see them after I finished putting on makeup, and the eyeshadow looked bad put over the part with glue. I tried spirit gum in the same way, but I had the same problem, even though my eyebrows are blonde.

My eyebrows: I pluck them to shape them. The hairs themselves are fairly long (as far as eyebrows go), but don't grow extremely close together so when I pluck them I have to be careful of which ones I pluck otherwise there will be a bald spot there... and on the rare occasion that I wear makeup I have to color them in, otherwise they look SO light compared to my eyes.

Does anyone have any recommendations for products that will cover them up (as well as where I can find them), or any tutorials? I would rather not have to shave/pluck all of my eyebrows off for one night because I don't usually wear makeup, but I can't figure out why it's not working.

in need of help [ Monday

girls..i need your help desperately...i just moved to San Diego from Los Angeles and I am looking for a good facialist who can do eyebrows really good. My lady in Los Angeles was amazing and only charged me $7. So was so good. But here, I have paid $25 for a mediocre job and today i went to another shop. Paid $7 and the lady fucked up my eyebrow. i am middle eastern so we tend to have long and thick eyebrows. And i told her please no thin. And she totally messed up the right. The shape is completely ruined. Does anyone know a good facialist here in the San Diego area???
