Heyya everybody! I have a question I am hoping someone can help me with. I have a pair of patent shoes that I loaned to a friend for a special night with her fella. She has a size smaller of feet, but they are wide, and when I got them back they were stretched out around the ball of the foot, which makes them difficult to dance in (they slip around alot now). Does anyone have advice on how to get them to shrink down again?

I don't know if there's any way to get them to shrink back down, but have you seen those little pads that you can stick in your shoes (under where the ball of your foot goes) that keep your feet from sliding around in the shoe? I use those in all of my work shoes because my feet get all sweaty and slide around like crazy if I don't use them. They're also for if your shoes are a little too big, so I bet they would work out well for you. I get mine at the local dancer gear store but I bet you can find them online if you don't have a store in your area. I think they're called something like "Walk On Clouds", something to do with clouds. And they're like three bucks for a pair.

I'm not sure what you mean by patent, but if the shoes are real leather and they are otherwise shot for wearing, try wetting the leather from inside of the shoe not soaking through all the way to the outside, then stick a hair drier to the shoe to shrink the leather. If you soak all the way through to the outside, you may discolor the shoe.

I was going to say the same thing. This should work if your shoes are not fabric. works great on plastic and leather.
