Hey everyone. I'm new in the community, and I'm sure this question has been asked before, but have any of you tried brazilian waxing?? Does it prevent the bumpy irritation? I don't really get it that badly when I shave with a nice razor and gel, but I'd like to eliminate it completely. I've heard of putting deodorant on after shaving, but that didn't really do much. Any suggestions will help. Thanks!

Brazilians are great but you can't do them a lot because you need two weeks' growth at least! I get them if I have been on vacation for a while, because over time they thin things out. When you get a Brazilian, go AFTER your period is over. The week before is the worst. Expect to get a zillion tiny pimple like dots, but they pass quickly and then you are bare for three weeks.

I've actually been planning to ask in here about laser hair removal, when I get around to it.

Yes, I am addicted to Brazilian waxes. For me there was just a little skin discoloration and a little bumpiness the first day or two but after that the skin looks like there was never any hair there to begin with. I feel a lot more comfortable and confident working in a tiny thong when everything is waxed. I like them not only for work, but there are some places where I wouldn't want my boyfriend to feel stubble. I don't get them all that regularly because there does have to be enough hair to wax and sometimes letting it grow just isn't an option, but I agree with the last comment they do thin things out over time.

And for me.. the key to a good shave is exfoliation pryor, a new sharp Mach3 blade, and something like bikini zone or neosporin afterwards. I never have a problem with razor burn anymore.

Why can't women just be hairless from the neck down?

Thanks so much for the advice. I wish I could afford lazer hair removal...but sadly, that just isn't an option. :(

Brazilian waxes are the best. Yeah...it's hard to get them regularly cos there does have to be enough hair to wax. I usually use NAIR, hair grows back baby soft.

This is probably very odd, but the thing that I have found that has worked so awesome are those facial moisturizing creams. Because the face is very sensitive and the vitamins and such that they put in the creams are especially made to tend to moisturizing sensitive skin, I've used it lightly around the bikini area after shaving or waxing and it works really great since it is also considered a sensitive area.

Well that sounds perfectly logical. I shall definately try that.

Well, what I've found works really well is to wait to shave until right aftter your shower in the morning. Turn the tap on the sink up really hot, and use a light amount of shaving cream, a sharp razor and LOTS of hot water. And, whatever you do, take your time! Rushing it only increases the chances of bumps.
