lately ive found myself spending my time on deviantart then elfwood and that kinda makes me sad. i really like elfwood and the fact that there are real artist there and not hack jobs and art thieves everywhere. But yet i still dont seem to be visiting elfwood as much as i used to. The reason, i beleave, is that its hard to follow when your favorite artist update. The only way really to find out if there is anything new with some of your favorite artist is to manually go and check each and every gallery. I have a dialup connection, so it takes a bit to load up all the thumbnails and everything. Its like, why bother. Its such a hassle to go through so many gallerys and find only one or two updated for that week. I just wish there was something like on deviant where you could have a watchlist and get informed when new art was put up on your favorite artist page.

god, i know it would prolly be a pain in the butt to code and get working and everything. But it would make elfwood a lot more friendlyer. I mean, elfwood is sappose to be a community of artist, yet i feel so disjointed from everyone.

I totally agree. I was just wondering why I spent so much more of my time on devART rather than Elfwood, and I think it's mainly because I can see new art from artists I like much more easily.

devART has some perks over Elfwood, but Elfwood has some perks, too. Guess I'll just have to stick with both for now. :3

I second that suggestion. I am not on dialup but my memory is poor, so I cannot remember whether I have seen a particular thumbnail or not when I do go back to a gallery and it takes me just as long to work out whether there is anything new, so I don't often bother.

I agree this would be a very nice thing, and it would be up to Thomas and Mirar to code in... it would be a lot of work. But. Since the merge, this has been up:

Soon, we will also offer a service where you can put a watch-tag on your favourite aritsts and writers, and get a notification when they publish something new!(link)

...so rest assured they at least know about it, and it's in... some sort of... coming-up.

*fifty years later*

"whatever happened to that watch-tag thing?"

You know that Thomas and Mirar have real jobs, and oh, lives, and run elfwood in their freetime?

I am a fellow dial-up user who would be very pleased if this came about.
