Dear [info]spnfic_podcast listeners and contributors:

My sincere apologies for letting this project slide. Other committments that have taken over my time, so it's about time I bucked up and made this post!

I would love to see this podcast continue in some way, and don't feel all that much possessive about it.

Therefore I'd like to open the floor to other editors - not so much for another single person to take over the project, but for anyone who feels like putting together a single edition (or few). If you have an idea for an edition of the podcast and think you can pull it off, stick your hand up!

I'm totally open as to how it could be organised - maybe they could be produced monthly, and we can schedule in editors for the next however-many months. I feel this model might have more chance of success than placing editorial duties upon a single person again, though of course I'm still happy to host files and help organise who will edit when.

Editors would be welcome to produce their edition(s) however they wanted, as long as it was still in the loose structure of a "supernatural fic podcast" - so, around an hour long, with fanfiction. Whether you had a theme, discussions, interviews or music would be all up to you.

While I was still planning on keeping this going myself, I talked to the [info]spnroundtable folks about somehow tying the podcast in with their work - piggybacking on themes and recording recced stories. They were open to that idea, if anyone wants to run with it.

So, hopefully we can get into a discussion in the comments about what could work, if you guys want to see this project keep going in some form.

Thanks again for your attention and support thus far :)

5th-Jul-2007 07:40 pm - Call for submissions - Futurefic
Okay, let's see if I can get this rolling again...

The next theme on the schedule is futurefic, i.e. stories set beyond where the canon has currently left off. Generally, it's set in a timeframe at least more than a year in the future. You all know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I'm accepting submissions of both slash and gen futurefic stories. If there isn't enough of either, I'll make one podcast. If there's enough of each, I'll make two. It's up to you, folks ;)

Recorded stories should:
- Be no longer than 15 minutes. An excerpt of a longer story is fine.
- Have the permission of the author.
- At least reasonably good audio quality. Try to minimise extra noise (static, white noise, etc). Make sure the volume isn't too low. Audacity is a free audio recording program that allows you to tweak these settings very easily. PLEASE MAKE A TEST RECORDING to get your settings right before you record the whole story and submit it.
- Begin with an introduction - Title of the story, story's author, reader's name.

Submit files to evp.podcast@gmail.com. Please include:

- Name of story
- Link to story
- Name of author (lj name, if applicable)
- Name of reader (lj name, if applicable)
- Slash or gen?
- What theme/edition is this for?
- Length of recording
- URL for download (http://sendspace.com, http://megaupload.com, http://yousendit.com, or your own server are fine)

The subject line should have the edition number the submission is for - eg. "Submission for EVP 15/Futurefic".

If you're planning on submitting something for this edition, please leave a comment here so I know if I need to kick more butts to get more submissions.

Loose deadline is the 15th of July. If you can't make that date but still want to submit something, let me know and we'll figure something out.
I'm now accepting submissions for the next 2 editions of EVP - Crackfic gen and slash.

Please use the planning posts (linked below) to discuss potential recordings or indicate your intention to submit a file. I'll keep the posts edited to reflect up-to-date plans for the editions as frequently as possible, but make sure to browse the comments too.

EVP 13: Crackfic (gen) planning post
(subs due Thursday 11th January)

EVP 14: Crackfic (slash) planning post
(subs due Thursday 18th January)

Submit files to evp.podcast@gmail.com. Please include:

- Name of story
- Link to story
- Name of author (lj name, if applicable)
- Name of reader (lj name, if applicable)
- What edition is this for?
- Length of recording
- URL for download (http://sendspace.com, http://megaupload.com, http://yousendit.com, or your own server are fine)

The subject line should have the edition number the submission is for - eg. "Submission for EVP 14".

Please do not send me any submissions for any other future editions. I'm accepting submissions for 13 & 14 only at this stage.

Thanks!
Hullo readers!

Over the holiday hiatus I'll release some fic-only, hour-long podcasts (divided into slash and gen).

They'll contain:

- all the recordings that you submitted that never ended being used
- any story you want to record that hasn't fit into a theme
- longer stories
- stories & their sequels
- etc

pretty much anything you feel like recording.

Please drop a comment here if you've got anything in mind for this. I'll need submissions within 2 weeks (so, before Xmas!).

Thanks guys!
