Firefox hates ALT tages.

Problem you are having: I looked for this in the memories and in other searches Google, but I have been unable to find what I am looking for. I created an image map as my journal layout with x's as the links and in AOL/IE, the alt tags pop up clearly for it. However, since Firefox does not and so far you can only download an add-on for it, is there any other workaround to get alt tags or alternate text in the status bar to work so when people hover over the links they know which entry they are going to?

Not a problem with layout... SOLVED!

Posted at 11:04 am
Name of journal: [info]tru_faith_lost

Type: Permanent Account

This isn't about my layout. I like my layout just fine. But I've scoured the support section and the FAQs and can't find an answer. This is my last resort before I contact LJ support directly.

Basically, people keep telling me that they're trying to track my journal but that mine is the only one they never get notifications for. Several people have told me this. I was sure it had something to do with my settings, but I can't find anything that allows me to turn these notifications on or off. And I don't know why I would ever have turned them off if I did.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Sorry if this isn't allowed, but the name of the comm is [info]everything_lj, so I thought I'd give it a try. Seems like a lot of very LJ savvy people here.

ETA: Yay! Solved with help from [info]babyelefant. *gives cookies and hugs* Whew! That was making me crazy.

ATTN: LLS AUDITIONS

Posted at 09:13 pm
This is the the last reminder to turn in your submissions for [info]lls_auditions. If we get at least one submission by Friday we will extend the submission intake a week or two. If not we will cancel the contest and the people who donated will receive a refund.

This contest is really fun. I swear. You learn so much and you don't even have to have years of experience. The judges help you learn new things and we even help you with coding issues. Don't be afraid to try out! You will seriously surprise yourself with how far you get. I know I always did. It doesn't matter if it's your first attempt at layouts or you have experience, you will learn something. Just join [info]lls_auditions and submit a layout. You won't regret it.

So again this is the last chance to revive this awesome contest and get a chance to win a free year's paid account on LJ.

Problem you are having: Some entries are stretching across my entire journal. I use IE and I know that if I switch to Mozilla that this won't happen, but I'm hoping that there's someway I can edit the overrides (it's alright if it slightly changes the look of the layout) so that I don't have to switch browsers.

Layout changes if top navigation bar is hidden

Posted at 09:55 am

Problem you are having: My layout header/navigation links get scrambled up and out of place when I choose to hide the top LJ navigation strip (which you can choose to show or hide under Customize Journal). Is there a way I can fix this so that people who choose to hide and to keep the strip will all see my layout as it should look? Thanks in advance!

If you look at my comment page I have been trying desperately to get it to align directly underneath my entries. Can anyone point me in the right tutorial on a breakdown of different comment codes and what they affect? I am not using styles or layers, & am using S2 custom css. I just need it moved over a liiiitle bit to the right.

The overrides in question:

where or where has my little [info]overridehelp gone? Or where or where could they be?

Letter spacing?

Posted at 12:12 am
This post is not regarding any layout problems, I'm just wondering if someone can give me the code to adjust letter spacing in my profile. If you go to my journal (friends only, but you can still see), the headers are all "smooshed" together. I've tried to copy what seems to deal with letter spacing from the layout, but it doesn't work in my profile.

Thank you!
