Images in header menu

Posted at 03:10 pm
Name of journal: [info]abottleofyou
Layout Style: Smooth Sailing
Basic, Paid or Plus: Basic
Problem you are having: It is not so much a problem, as a query. I love the images in the header menu used in layouts like this and this - but I have only ever found them in Flexi Squares or Minimalism layouts. Is it possible to translate the code for these so that it works in Smooth Sailing, as well? If so, would you be able to give me the basic descriptors?

Moodtheme icon before mood text.

Problem you are having: I would like to have my mootheme icon appear before the mood text and I looked around for tutorials on it and whatnot but so far only found something for theme layers which I don't have as I am in s2 basic? I think there must be a way to alter this but I seem to be lacking the exact code for it! Any help please?

Thank you in advance!

Problem you are having: Before I upgraded to Firefox 3.5, my tag section looked like this. Then, after installing Firefox 3.5, my tag section now looks like this. I did not change anything in the code I was using before (which was just a tweaked version of the original code provided by LJ). My tag section looks the same when viewed in Flock. Could it be that the new Firefox requires a different code?

Problem you are having: I was wondering how to make the links in the navigation bold when they are on the certain page? For instance if I'm on my friends page, 'friends' would be bold in the nav bar.

Thanks!

archive page

Posted at 01:01 pm
I have this one nitpicky problem with my journal layout that I'd REALLY like to be able to fix. I've asked about it before either here or on [info]s2flexisquares, but nobody answered. That was several months ago. So.. I'm asking it again, in the desperate hope that someone might be able to help me..

Name of journal: [info]roxiesblues
Layout Style: Flexible Squares
Basic, Paid or Plus: Paid
Style IDs: user layer, theme layer
Problem you are having: the view subjects page of the archive has this navigation tool where you can go from month to month. only problem is, i can't seem to provide a background for it (so you can see the back/forward arrows clearly) without affecting the entire #maincontent. also, I'd like to be able to change the text of the back/forward links, like, instead of [<<<] I'd like it to be just < or <<. I can't figure out where in my theme layer I can change that, though, or how.

I'd much appreciate the help; thank you!

smooth sailing help

Username of journal: [info]18040, my test journal
Layout Style: S2 Smooth Sailing
Basic, Paid or Plus: Plus on the test account but I will be using it on this journal which is paid
Problem you are having: I have 2 problems actually. My first problem is that I can't seem to get the space between entries to be smaller without my top entry somehow being overlapped by my top bar. My second problem is in my post with the LJ cut. When I click on the LJ cut to view the entry, the title of that entry disappears but the title is there if I click on reply or whatever to view the post.

CSS Override?

Posted at 05:47 pm
Name of journal: [info]das_porno_uke

Does anyone know where I can find a basic CSS for the Navigationstrip?

Can't paste CSS code into customization box.

Posted at 11:17 pm
Username of journal: [info]fencer_x
Layout Style: S2, Minimalism
Basic, Paid or Plus: Paid
Problem you are having: Not so much a problem as a huge annoyance. I've got my CSS overrides hosted on my personal server, and have my S2 customization set to call the URL of that .css file when it applies styling to my LJ. However, my server's kinda testy, and about half the time it times out when the file is being accessed, resulting in a nasty, unstyled LJ.

I thought I'd get around this by just pasting the CSS code into the provided text-box in the CSS customization area, but every single time I do this, LJ times out and redirects me to a white page after a few minutes. It's not my connection, as I've tried this on 3 different computers now (a personal one at home and 2 work ones), and it's really annoying that I can't get it to just use the code in a CSS box. Pasting it in the box for other communities I mod works fine, so is there, like, some character limit or something that LJ times out over?

Like I said, this is more an annoyance than anything, as the layout has no problem calling the code from my server (usually...). I just want something that's not going to NOT show up half the time :/

question about profiles and tables

Posted at 09:52 am
Your form won't help at all for the question I have, but since you state that I MUST use it, I will.

Username of journal: several actually & doesn't matter
Layout Style: n/a since this is about the PROFILE
Basic, Paid or Plus: also n/a since this is about the PROFILE
Problem you are having:

To make it simple, I've looked all over LJ for this. Everything I read these days says not to use tables for layout. However, I can't seem to find anywhere with advice on how to do PROFILES with some sort of layout that doesn't use tables. Is that because LJ makes the whole page in CSS?

I'm just trying to set up a simple two column layout without using tables. Something like this but without tables. I've looked on LJ and on sites that just talk about CSS, but those sites assume I have access to parts of the code that LJ keeps for itself in displaying PROFILES.

Can someone please advise me here?
