Found at ka_verse, this new drabble community gives you a table of 50 or 100 prompts. In response to each of those prompts, you write a drabble ranging from 100 to 1000 words. You have the option to write about characters or pairings from any one of K.A. Applegate's book series, i.e., Animorphs, Remnants, Everworld. Though similar in concept with other fanfic comms, this new drabble community will present to you a huge range of interesting prompts at once to get you writing again on your own terms. I'm curious...since Everworld is long gone what have you all been reading to fill the gap? Does anyone have any recs for books/series that are similar to Everworld (doesn't have to be YA)? I've been reading James Patterson's YA stuff, myself. Also, I've been thinking about checking out the GONE series by Michael Grant (according to wikipedia he was cocreater and coauthor of Animorphs and Everworld and is Applegate's husband, so it might be interesting). Basically what I'm looking for are good books with a lot of action/friendship and very little romance. Any ideas?

[24 Jul 2007|02:01pm] hari_kari [ mood | curious ] [ music | blurry - puddle of mudd ] Hello all, I know that Animorphs and Everworld and Remnants are long over, and was wondering if anyone knew what K.A. Applegate is up to now?  Is she working on a new series?  Has anyone heard anything?  I really enjoy her work, but it seems that she's disappeared - I'm worried that she's given up on writing!  Does anyone know anything? Also I have to ask, even if you haven't heard anything, what would you like to see from her next (assuming she'll write again)?  More Everworld?  Something like Everworld?  A new scifi series?  Something completely different?  I'd love to hear all of your opinions on what was her best (Everworld, in my opinion) and her worst series and what you would like to see from her in the future.

But I was going through Realm of the Reaper yesterday (for fanfic purposes) & remembered all that speculation in it about the passage to Hel leading to the Old World.  I quote: "The Old World? Are you saying that you can reach the Old World through that tunnel?" And then there's the spiel about - oh yes, but only if you live, etc. etc. And then they get somewhat distracted by Hel wandering around calling for them.  But my point is - what happened to it? Is it just me, or did this plot thread just -- die? Did it get tied up (and if so, why didn't I notice it, despite having read the books several times, and rather thoroughly? ><)?  Or was it just killed on the grounds of, "I'd rather live in Everworld my whole life than venture through Hel's tunnel ever again" type thing?  Very confused.  Oh! And by the by. Name's Ever. Oddly enough. Pleased to meet you all. <3
