Nobody requested anything in the last post. ;~; I feel like nobody at all downloads from my rotations. -shot-
Well, instead of doing an actual rotation this week, I just sort of.. picked a random album to upload.Actually, I uploaded it for someone and figured the link shouldn't go to waste.

DOWNLOAD!
BUY!
Tracks:
1. Evolution
2. Greatful Days
3. Independent
4. Humming 7/4
5. UNITE!
6. Real me
7. my name's WOMEN
8. Ourselves
9. Inspire
10. STEP you
11. July 1st
12. Fairyland
13. Voyage
14. Moments
15. A Song is Born
A compilation album of Ayu's greatest hits-- the brighter, more cheerful side of them, at least (A BEST 2 -black- focuses more on deeper lyrics and ballads). I would say this is an excellent place to start if you haven't heard Ayu yet, or much of her.
My personal favorites on this album are Voyage, Ourselves, and Fairyland. :D
Anyways, please comment if you download. ♥ Enjoy!

... um, yeah. I'm really, really late, huh? I have no excuse. I'm just very, very lazy.
Now, you'd expect me to upload 20 songs, or at least 10 songs and two albums or something. Well, to be honest, I don't know WHAT songs to upload. @__@; Right now the only songs I'm really listening to are Death Note, Final Fantasy, Nightmare and Gackt. I try not to upload the same artist twice in one week, too. Most of my other true favorites I've uploaded already, and even though I have over 1,000 songs, I don't really KNOW a lot of them. I'm a picky chooser. This is why I only upload 5 a week, usually.
However, to ATTEMPT make it up to you guys...
IF THERE HAS EVER BEEN *ANY* SONG THAT I'VE UPLOADED ON HERE THAT YOU'VE LIKED, AND YOU'D LIKE MORE FROM THE ARTIST OR THE ALBUM IT'S FROM, I WILL UPLOAD IT FOR YOU. A MAXIMUM OF TWO ALBUMS PER PERSON, PLEASE.
Why?This is easiest. I don't know, but take advantage of it or else I'll feel horribly guilty.
Alright, onto the music. :x
Title: lulu
Artist: Nightmare
Album: The World Ruler
Genre: J-rock
Comments: For those of you unfamiliar with Nightmare, they sing the first opening and ending themes to Death Note (the WORLD and Alumina). I've been obsessed with those two songs lately, and have had them on repeat for a week, so naturally I tried downloading some more music by Nightmare. Absolutely LOVE. Something about them, I really like-- more than other J-rock bands. And I'm not usually a big J-rock fan, aside from Miyavi. Anyways, this song is slow... not heavy metal or loud or anything like that. It's actually moved me to tears once, I like it so much. It's really just absolutely stunning, and the lead singer's voice is so pretty. Highly, highly recommended, even if you dislike J-rock.

Title: Dooms Day
Artist: Gackt
Album: Moon
Genre: J-rock
Comments: I said 'lulu' moved me to tears? Well, THIS one is the most I've ever cried while hearing a song, and I've cried from a grand total of about four or five songs in my lifetime. :D;; Funny how Gackt isn't my favorite artist, or one of them, but his music seems to affect me and touch me the most. This song is so, so powerful and emotional-- and then when I read the lyrics, that just set me off. The mood of the song switches from light and soft, to very dark. I still get teary eyed every time I hear this-- during the chorus, really. I could not recommend this song more, really. Everyone should hear it, even if you don't get why I like it so much or what's so amazing about it... everyone has different point of views.
DOWNLOAD!
Title: Monster
Artist: Bonnie Pink
Album: Golden Tears
Genre: J-pop
Comments: Sorry for the lack of variety... I seem to upload this woman every week. o_o; She's amazing. It took awhile for me to actually recognize this song apart from the others on the album (which is an amazing album, by the way-- I love it. xD Very summery, and puts me in a good mood.), but now I'm surprised it took so long. It has a pretty unique sound. It's all in English, too-- and her English is actually pretty good. Some parts are hard to understand, but most of it is good. I like the lyrics, too. Anyways, yeah. :D; I like it. It's catchy.

Title: Death Note
Artist: Yoshihisa Hirano & Hideki Taniuchi
Album: Death Note OST I
Genre: Instrumental
Comments: The first song on the first OST, which I've finally downloaded. Something about this song... I don't know, but I LIKE it. A LOT. It's highly recommended. I think it's somehow... bredrfeds, I DON'T KNOW HOW TO EXPLAIN IT. :'D Not quite emotional, but... emotional. o_o; I feel so stupid. But it's a really good instrumental. Just download it for yourself, I guess!

Title: Sing
Artist: The Dresden Dolls
Album: Yes, Virginia...
Genre: Punk
Comments: I don't like the Dresden Dolls too much... my friend Ryan is utterly OBSESSED with them, so I've heard a lot of their music, but nothing has really impressed me other than Coin Operated Boy. Well, this song is really, really pretty. *__* I normally dislike Amanda Palmer's voice, but it's amazing here. The lyrics are what really makes me love this song though-- they're so inspirational, seriously. Highly recommended, and if you don't download it, at least look up the lyrics. *__*

Title: Bara no Shigemi
Artist: Akino Arai
Album: RBG
Genre: JPop/Anime Soundtrack
Time/Size: 5:24/10.48MB
Comments: people who've been here for a while should at least VAGUELY remember my love of this woman's voice. light and breathy, she's got one of my favorite voices EVER, let alone in Japan. I remember, though, that the first thing which struck me about this song was how utterly BEAUTIFUL it was. the feel of the song is strange, dark and dreamy but in a way that's very nostalgic, like memories of porcelain and jasmine tea and lace parasols. it sparkles at the same time it feels like a quite summer rain. I don't really know how to explain it, but...grah, JUST DOWNLOAD IT. DX (for the record, this is from the Record of Lodoss War OST; the title translates into "Rosebush")

Title: Let Armies Loose
Artist: Bertine Zetlitz
Album: Sweet Injections
Genre: Trip-Hop?
Time/Size: 4:34/4.19MB
Comments: Bertine's got an interesting voice; very pretty, but unique at the same time. this is dark and oddly chilling, and I just LOVE the melody. the lyrics to the verses are mildly repetetive, but I think it's actually a really nice effect and not boring. the lyrics themselves are interesting, and swing between confrontational and creepy to strangely loving and, ah, creepy. XD; it starts off with a simple, dark guitar riff, quickly joined by synth and Bertine's voice. again, her voice is a little odd, but I'd totally recommend giving it a minute to adjust to, because it's beautiful in its own way. fits her particular style wonderfully, and I love the way she enunciates things.

Title: Veteran of the Psychic Wars
Artist: Blue Oyster Cult
Album: Fire of Unknown Origin
Genre: Classic Metal
Time/Size: 4:49/4.42MB
Comments: DO NOT look at the genre and go "ew", because this song (this group in general) is fucking AWESOME. there's no screaming, there's no incomprehensible lyrics, there's no ear-piercing guitar. instead, we have a dark, solemn song, with a wonderful, driving beat and awesome keyboard and guitar. Eric Bloom's vocals are awesome; I've NEVER disliked them. they're nice, not high and screechy like those of AC/DC's Bon Scott. ANYWAY. I got into these guys through the TV show Supernatural (surprisingly, not through their song "(Don't Fear) the Reaper", which is freaking awesome, but through "Fire of Unknown Origin", also freaking awesome), and I've been in love with them ever since. I love the keyboards in this song; utterly gorgeous, and the guitar compliments it perfectly. seriously, GIVE THIS A TRY.

Title: Private Laughter
Artist: BONNIE PINK
Album: Private Laughter
Genre: JPop
Time/Size: 3:02/3.51MB
Comments: I don't have much by BONNIE PINK, but what I have? I REALLY, REALLY like. this song has a very nice summery feel to it, with a nice, driving beat, especially during the choruses. it starts off a little strange, with some odd, synthesized voices, but BONNIE's voice is wonderful (and the slight nasal quality to it just makes it better, in my opinion). I love how clearly she pronounces things. XD (so shoot me, I'm an English major) I'm not sure how to explain the feel of this song besides the already mentioned "summery" feeling, but it really makes me want to pop the CD (or MP3 player or whatever) into my car and just go out and drive. nice, nice feeling to the song. I also love the little bits of English and the TOTALLY RANDOM bit of Spanish thrown in. XD

Title: Title and Registration
Artist: Death Cab for Cutie
Album: Transatlanticism
Genre: ...uhm.
Time/Size: 3:39/5.03MB
Comments: again with not knowing how to classify a song. XD; heh. so I tend to hear these people classified as EMO, which really, really makes me angry because they are totally NOT emo. their lyrics are melancholy, often dealing with loss and regret, yes, but they are not EMO. .../rant, sorry. XD; ANYHOO. Ben's vocals are wonderful, light and just PLEASANT, and if anything this song feels even more summery than the last. it's got this kinda lazy warmth that REALLY reminds me of summer vacation, just flopping across the (nice, cool XD) kitchen floor with the dogs, not really having anything to do so just BEING. I utterly adore the guitar here.

Title: Kyrie II
Artist: Yoshihisa Hirano and Hideki Taniuchi
Album: Death Note OST II
Genre: Anime Soundtrack
Time/Size: 2:20/5.38MB
Comments: so being a HUGE, HUGE fan of Gregorian chanting and anything even vaguely similar, this song utterly blew me away when I watched the first episode of Death Note. the opening sequence (not the opening SONG, btw) was just...omgamazing. seriously. GO WATCH IT (just a youtube, video, btw. XD; I'd recommend waiting for it to load and then jumping ahead (1:24), because I'm REALLY not a fan of the opening theme. pretty good quality, especially for a youtube video, although it's in Japanese with Chinese subtitles). anyhoo. XD; the song is entirely chanting, consisting of little more than "kyrie," "christe," and "eleison" (for those curious about the lyrics), but it's chillingly, hauntingly beautiful, and I just...GUH. lakjsdflasjd. ♥~ DOWNLOAD IT.

Title: Gypsy Woman
Artist: Hilary Duff
Album: Dignity
Genre: Electropop
Time/Size: 3:14/5.06MB
Comments: now I'll admit to having always liked Hilary Duff at least a LITTLE, but her latest album took me by surprise. I listened to it in a Barnes & Noble, sheerly out of curiosity, and went "WOW." and immediately went home and downloaded it 'cause it's freaking AWESOME. DO NOT look at the artist and go "EW," because I'll be forced to shoot you. this song totally blew me away. it starts off a little odd (because really, "'the battle of France is over.' *pause* 'congratulations. you've joined the ranks of all the rest.'" ...WUT.), but almost instantly bursts into dark, driving, raw synth that I utterly adore. Hilary's voice hasn't really gotten any better, but she's ALWAYS had a really good voice, and it fits this new style very well; light and airy, it's a nice contrast with the dark, raw synth in this song. I ADORE the lyrics, as well, and the way she says "gypsy woman" in the choruses. DOWNLOAD. OR DIE. ♥♥~

Title: So Crazy
Artist: Namie Amuro
Album: Style
Genre: JPop/Hip-Hop
Time/Size: 4:34/4.19MB
Comments: I LOVE the beginning of this song; I'm not entirely sure how to describe it, but it's dark and shimmery at the same time. Namie's voice is freaking awesome, as usual, and I love the way she sings the opening line. the verses and choruses are really catchy, and though Namie's voice is a little more laid-back than usual (no insanely high notes, unfortunately XD those are fun to try and sing along with), it fits the song really well. I love the rhythm of this song. ♥~ the rap towards the end amuses me, as do some of the English background lyrics ("uh me so horny," for example XDDD). XD

Title: All Good Things (Come to an End)
Artist: Nelly Furtado
Album: Loose
Genre: Hip-Hop
Time/Size: 5:12/7.15MB
Comments: so Nelly Furtado kinda disappeared for a little while, but she's certainly returned with a bang. FOUR chart-toppers (including a Timbaland song she features in with Justin Timberlake, much to my enjoyment XD), all in a very, very hip-hop style, as opposed to her older style of slightly eccentric pop. anyway, this song starts with a nice, steady guitar riff and really pretty background synth, joined very quickly by a nice beat and then Nelly herself. I'm not entirely sure just HOW much her voice has changed in the past three years, but it's certainly unique and definitely VERY pretty. she has an interesting way of composing her songs that really, really sticks out, noticeable mainly in the second verse (I love the brief stop after "traveling I"). I'm not entirely sure WHY I like the lyrics in this song so much, because there's nothing very profound about them, but there's definitely SOMETHING that really hits me that I love.

Title: We Can Hear Your Pulse
Artist: Origa
Album: Best of Origa
Genre: uhm.
Time/Size: 4:28/10.26MB
Comments: ...I'm not entirely sure what to classify this song as, BUT. most people know of Origa through the music she did for Ghost in the Shell ("Inner Universe" and "Rise), but this song has a tremendously different feeling to it. I'm not quite sure what drew my attention to this song, but there's something about the title that really drew me in, and listening to the song I was blown away by how hauntingly beautiful it is. "haunting" is really the only way to accurately describe Origa's voice, for those unfamiliar with her work. it's high and breathy and almost angelic in its beauty, and this song is a brilliant demonstration of it. it's dark and dreamy and just WOW. the song is entirely in Russian, but unfortunately I can't seem to find the lyrics for it. definitely a recommended download, though. XD

Title: Birth of Light
Artist: Chihiro Yonekura
Album: Colours
Genre: JPop
Time/Size: 5:01/4.83MB
Comments: never actually heard anything else by this woman, and I really don't even remember where I FOUND this song. some random website, several years ago. Chihiro's voice is absolutely beautiful, light and airy, and it fits the synth in the song wonderfully. the song itself is rather light-hearted, but it's not really happy and bouncy, more like a little upbeat. her voice ALMOST reminds me of Sakamoto Maaya's but not quite; she does, however, have a very, very lovely way of hitting her high notes. the song ends with absolutely GORGEOUS piano, floating away to a fade. this song really makes me wish I had more music by her.

Title: Fairwell to Bitterroot Valley
Artist: Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer
Album: Tanglewood Tree
Genre: Folk
Time/Size: 2:36/2.39MB
Comments: PLEASE, again with this whole "don't look at the genre and skip over it" thing. (hell knows "The Mountain" got enough downloads, so many posts back) this song is utterly, utterly beautiful. it starts with a quiet, deceptively simple guitar melody that floats as the main actual instrument participation throughout the whole song, and Tracy's voice is just as deceptively simple. Dave's lyrics are, as usual, gorgeous, though not quite as wordy or haunting as they often are. there's a deep sense of longing to this song that I just LOVE.

Title: Let Go
Artist: Frou Frou
Album: Details
Genre: Trip-Hop
Time/Size: 4:11/5.54MB
Comments:IMOGEN HEAP. there. download. so most people who at least recognize this song will likely know it from the Garden State soundtrack, which, in all fairness, is actually where I first heard it. HERE WE GO PEOPLE, MY FIRST EVER IMMI SONG. 8D~ but yes, Frou Frou features the almost sinfully luscious vocals of Imogen Heap, who most common visitors of this rotation will recognize as being FREAKING AMAZING. (wow, lots of caps in this comment. hm.) unfortunately, this is one of the few Frou Frou songs that I REALLY like (I generally find they don't utilize Immi's vocals the way they should), but hot DAMN this song is gorgeous. if you don't have it? you really, really should. the synth alone is worth it.

Title: Try This Shoot
Artist: Globe
Album: Lights
Genre: JPop/Techno
Time/Size: 6:01/5.56MB
Comments: so these guys used to be pretty popular among JPop (are they still? oO;), but I never really liked their stuff. this song, however, is the first song I ever heard by them and the first techno song I ever listened to that was labeled as such. Keiko's voice is high and a little frail, but it really works in this song. the techno is just freaking AWESOME ('course, I suppose I could be biased. XD; heh) anyhoo, this is a REALLY OLD favorite of mine. I've had it for AT LEAST seven years, likely more, because I downloaded it back when I still had AOL and was in a bunch of music "mailing lists," where they would upload a single song every week for everyone on the list. heh, that was a LONG time ago. XD; anyway. this song was on the third CD I EVER burned (yes, I remember lame stuff like this XD;), and it took me FOREVER to find the lyrics for it. years. haha, I JUST found out what CD this song was on while REhunting down the lyrics, which I seem to have lost..? never mind, took me forever but I found them. Title: SURREAL
Artist: Hamasaki Ayumi
Album: Duty
Genre: JPop
Time/Size: 4:45/4.39MB
Comments: FIRST EVER AYU SONG I heard. XD seriously. and again, I found it through an old AOL mailing list, so I've had this song for at least seven years. dude, I am a hardcore Ayu fan~ anyhoo. XD; also my first real look into the world of JPop, because until I hit this song I'd mainly listened to Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon music (yeah, laugh it up, bitches. >:[). ah, well. for those who haven't heard this song, it starts off with simple piano and synth that reminds me oddly of a whale's call. oO; must be some old childhood song about whales that had the sound in it. XD; ANYHOO. Ayu sounds freaking awesome in this song, and it turns into the very rocky, fast-paced kind of song she's so good at. INSANE electric guitar after the bridge, but the song is seriously freaking awesome. XD

Title: The Mystic's Dream
Artist: Loreena McKennitt
Album: The Mask and Mirror
Genre: World/New Age
Time/Size: 7:42/7.11MB
Comments: aah~, Loreena, at what she does best. XD this is probably my FAVORITE song of hers (partially because I associate it with an old favorite novel of mine that I was planning out, but SHHH~). she's AWESOME at achieving a really Arabic feel to her music, and this song just proves it brilliantly. it starts with a simple drone, joined by Loreena singing a hauntingly beautiful wordless melody in definite Arabic style, with all sorts of Arabic instruments and even a TRIANGLE in the background. after she finishes, it's a male choir, chanting slow and drowsy, and eventually joined by her again and then some sort of string instrument (I THINK an 'ud, but I can't be sure). you don't even get actual lyrics until about three minutes into the song, but the imagery the lyrics provoke is dark and haunting. absolutely wonderful song, especially if you're into Arabic-sounding music.

Title: gravity
Artist: LUNA SEA
Album: PERIOD
Genre: JRock
Time/Size: 5:33/5.09MB
Comments: and again with these INSANELY old favorites. XD I haven't had this one for QUITE as long, because it was after I got rid of AOL, but I'd guess about five years. XD; anyway. this song is freaking AMAZING, and the only song by LUNA SEA I've heard that I actually really liked. I've listened to this song so often that I can honestly say there isn't a fandom I've been a part of since I downloaded it that I have NOT read fanfiction for while listening to this. mainly, though, it reminds me of Angel Sanctuary, because Kaori Yuki (an insanely awesome mangaka, for those of you unfamiliar with her works) admitted to listening to this song while needing inspiration for Angel Sanctuary. anyway, this song is dark and lonely, but the vocalist is freaking amazing and the guitars? guh. Title: Gessekai
Artist: BUCK-TICK
Album: Nightwalker OST
Genre: JRock/Anime
Time/Size: 5:04/4.67MB
Comments: old, old song. XD again. THE BEGINNING OF THIS IS VERY WEIRD, BUT DON'T LET IT TURN YOU AWAY. the rest of the song is freaking AWESOME, and I've been in love with it for years. hell, even the beginning grows on you! now, I love BUCK-TICK, I really, really do. but I have NEVER liked them as much as I love them in this song. I honestly don't think Atsushi's vocals have ever been better than in this song; he sings lower than he usually does (haha, it hurts to sing as low as he does, but I can't seem to resist XD;;), and it lends it an odd, gravely sound that fits the mood of the song perfectly. the song itself is dark and lonely and, dare I say it, SEXY (but that may just be because Nightwalker is an anime about really hot VAMPIRES XD;). anyway, DOWNLOADDOWNLOADDOWNLOAD. ♥~

Title: Reckless Fire
Artist: Ide Yasuaki
Album: s-CRY-ed OST
Genre: JRock/Anime
Time/Size: 4:30/5.15MB
Comments: haha~, this song is FUN. opening song of a very fun, very SHOUNEN, anime called s-CRY-ed (the anime of which is SO MUCH better than the manga, oddly enough; the manga had way too many "HEEEY~, IM UR LONG LOST BROTHER LAWLZ"). anyhoo. starts off with a strangely Spanish feel that quickly disappears (rather nifty, though XD), and Ide's vocals are really, really cool. kinda rough and gravely, they lend a really nice feeling to an otherwise FUNFUN JRock song. the entire song is fast-paced and upbeat. haha, I love the way he says "reckless fire"~ ♥ random fact: I once spent almost all of a 4-hour drive down to New Jersey listening to this song and thinking. it somehow managed to fade into the background to the point where I'd forgotten I was even listening to it.

Title: Strangers
Artist: Yoko Kanno, Raj Ramayya
Album: Wolf's Rain OST
Genre: Anime Soundtrack
Time/Size: 5:03/4.63MB
Comments: oh god, this song is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I found it totally by accident while trying to find Wolf's Rain music, and BOY have I never regretted that. Raj Ramayya has an absolutely beautiful voice, although I'll admit I had to look him up to be sure he wasn't some strange-voiced female. XD; anyhoo. this song isn't exactly slow (the rhythm is fairly fast), but it's rather mellow. kinda like the trip-hop songs I've put up, except it's got more of a natural feel to it, I guess. lots of mournful trumpet peals in this, and an absolutely breathtaking orchestra in the background. this song has such a WOLF'S RAIN feel to it that half the time I want to cry. stunning in its beauty.

XD; anyway. this song was on the third CD I EVER burned (yes, I remember lame stuff like this XD;), and it took me FOREVER to find the lyrics for it. years. haha, I JUST found out what CD this song was on while REhunting down the lyrics,

I've listened to this song so often that I can honestly say there isn't a fandom I've been a part of since I downloaded it that I have NOT read fanfiction for while listening to this. mainly, though, it reminds me of Angel Sanctuary, because Kaori Yuki (an insanely awesome mangaka, for those of you unfamiliar with her works) admitted to listening to this song while needing inspiration for Angel Sanctuary. anyway, this song is dark and lonely, but the vocalist is freaking amazing and the guitars? guh.

Album: Girls on Top
Genre: J-pop

Comments: Lol, I don't really have a comment for this. :x I'm running out of songs to upload! Well, not really, but I'm running out of songs I really LOVE enough to upload. @_@; Ah, well, anyways. I don't know much about BoA at all. Every Heart was one of the songs that got me into j-pop (Inuyasha ending themes in general did, haha... but Every Heart used to be my favorite, till I listened to it so much I couldn't stand listening to it ever again, haha), but ANYWAYS, this isn't Every Heart. xD I just downloaded a couple of random BoA songs the other day, and this is my favorite out of them. It's a... nice song. ._.; Nice to listen to. Yup.. just, nice. Download it. xDDD No, really, it might not sound like I have a high opinion of it, but I do. It's a pretty song, really. ♥

Title: Violet Sauce
Artist: Namie Amuro
Album: White Light
Genre: JPop/Hip-Hop
Time/Size: 4:05/9.37MB
Comments: so I'm sure a lot of JPop fans have at least HEARD OF this song before. >.>; I'm kind of a late comer to Namie, but her stuff's just blown me away lately. XD; I never really liked her 'cause she was, well, so HIP-HOP-y, which is a genre of music I used to love but stopped, and I've only recently gotten back into it. for the record, Japanese hip-hop is SOOO much better~ ANYHOO. rambling. XD; this song is rather dark in sound, but it's WONDERFUL. nice and techno-y and Namie's voice is, as usual, heavenly. it's kind of hidden behind synthesizers and all the synth in the song, but I think it fits the feel beautifully. her harmony in some of the verses and the background lyrics of the...choruses? I guess? I don't know, whatever. ANYWAY, her harmony is awesome. during the part of the song where you hear lots of "dip it in the suace," there are lines in the background that are more...not really RAPPED, but they're not really said, and in the background you can faintly hear Namie singing them much higher, and it gives it this really cool effect that I just love.

Title: BUT
Artist: Koda Kumi
Album: BUT/Aisho
Genre: JPop/Hip-Hop
Time/Size: 3:44/6.89MB
Comments: aaah~, this is her newest (I THINK) song, and it's just SO MUCH FUN. starts off with a heavy drum line and then it kind of bursts into the raw, gritty synth that's featured throughout the whole song. the lyrics are fun and the verses are kinda melody-less, but in a GOOD way, and then you get to the bridge and then the CHORUS and it's just FUNFUNFUN. I love the chorus, [you know you love yourself] BUT!, written as my sister has it in her MSN display name. XD I love the little bits after the chorus, lots of fun lyrics, and the way Kumi says "kite kanjite hoshii BUT" just makes me flail everytime because it's just FUN. lots of nice electric guitar in the background in places. the whole song feels kind of raw, but it's just...well, FUN. Album: FutureSex/LoveSounds
Genre: Hip-Hop/R&B
Time/Size: 4:36/4.23MB
Comments: yeah, you're all thinking "Justin Timberlake the FUCK?" but uhm...I've recently found this guy is fucking ADDICTING, YO. the MP3 I've got starts in an odd spot, but it almost immediately flows into the techno rift that drew me into the song and just...WOW. the techno/synth in this makes me flail and it's just awesome, and uhm...yeah. XD his voice during the verses is a LITTLE too high for itself, but it's not that bad and he actually does it pretty well. don't let it, or the weird wanna-be-laughing during the choruses, throw you off. this song is AWESOME, and I love the melody in the chorus and justjustjustGUH. XD;~ and despite my belief that Americans just CANNOT RAP, the rap in this isn't THAT bad >.>; IT MENTIONS JAPAN, OKAY. DD8 and, uhm, the lyrics in this song? are oddly sweet and romantic. o_o;

Title: Glamorous
Artist: Fergie feat. Ludacris
Album: The Dutchess
Genre: Hip-Hop/R&B
Time/Size: 4:06/6.2
Comments: annnd~ more American hip-hop. XD; I almost put up "Fergalicious," but, ah...that would have required I put up "Sexy Back" for my Justin Timberlake song and I didn't want to. XD; this song is surprisingly pretty, really, and Fergie has a wonderful voice. the song starts off with some rapping in the background, behind synthesizers, that I actually don't really mind. the lyrics in this actually have a pretty good message, although it's probably total crap to her and she likely doesn't mean any of it XD; WOW, that was cynical. her accent amuses me. XD; unfortunately, there's other rapping in here, and once again I honestly don't think Americans can rap for CRAP, even if they're black. *shrug* my favorite part of this song is the last verse; I LOVELOVELOVE the melody of it. Artist: Lee Hyori and Lee Jun Ki
Album: ???
Genre: KPop/Hip-Hop
Time/Size: 3:46/5.24MB
Comments: so ah, my knowledge of KPop? is extremely limited. the only person whose name I really recognize is Lee Jung Hyun's, but I've been a fan of hers for several years. but I found this song through
protectra, and was spazzing over it (especially the rapping, which I'm ASSUMING was done by Lee Jun Ki), and since she liked it so much and offered a download link I snatched it up and listened. and uhm...WOW. LOADS OF FUN. XDD let it be said I feel the need to look up more stuff by Lee Hyori, because she has a really nice voice and this song is ten kinds of fun. very upbeat and hip-hop-y and techno-y, and it's just what I could ask for. XD THIS song is further proof that Americans SUCK at rapping, even if blacks are the people who started it. the Asians? have totally pwned them. XD possibly because there's an actual hint of melody in it, but...*shrug* dunno. DOWNLOAD RAWR DX haha, looking at Korean lyrics feels so weird. XD I'm TOTALLY not used to them, they look like jibberish XD;

Title: On Fire
Artist: Switchfoot
Album: The Beautiful Letdown
Genre: Rock
Time: 4:39
Comments: HOMG, it's something non-Asian! xD; I normally don't put English music up, but this song is an exception. I've always loved it, but this week particularly I've been obsessed with it, so I thought I would share. Switchfoot is such an amazing band-- actually, including the many Asian bands I like, they're my favorite. Well, like I've said, I've always loved this song but this week I realized the lyrics freakishly fit in with the Axel/Roxas pairing I'm obsessed with (from Kingdom Hearts).. so that's why I like it more now. ._.; It's a really, really pretty song, I think, and the lyrics are just great (and no, not just because it fits in with a pairing I like, honestly. xD). I guess I don't know what to say besides that, and sorry I'm ranting again.. @__@;

Title: Lust for Blood
Artist: Gackt
Album: Crescent
Genre: j-rock
Time: 5:11
Comments: So my very good friend
arwenchan was the person who introduced me to Gackt. And like I said when I uploaded Secret Garden a few weeks ago, I like him but I don't LOVE him. xD; Well, I thought Secret Garden was really the only song by him I adored, but I guess I was wrong! I was writing something somewhat dark, and I asked her if she recommended a good song to listen to while writing. This is her favorite song ever, so she recommended this one, obviously. @_@; Before, it had 9 plays on my iTunes.. over the course of two weeks it's reached over 200. THIS. SONG. IS. AMAZING. xD Everything about is AMAZING. The lyrics, the instruments, his voice, dfgsrtdffd. I could listen to this on repeat for the rest of my life, hahaha. Even if you don't like dark songs (well not DARK, just not.. bubbly pop), like me, you should try thiiiis. ;~;

Don't underrate them just because they're on Cartoon Network or something silly like that. Their voices honestly aren't the best, from what I've heard at least (I need a different album before I can really judge them :3), but this song is really good. It's very.. mellow. 8D And catchy, to me at least. I often get it stuck in my head for some reason.

It's just so.. calming, and really beautiful ;~;♥. Under the Sun is also a really good song too, btw, but I haven't heard it since I got a new computer-- never managed to find it again. xD Anyways, I'm not sure what to say aside from this song is amazingly pretty and I love it. ♥

Title: NANA OST
Genre: Instrumental
Comments: This is one of the CDs that got me loving instrumentals. I downloaded this after seeing the movie (which was ADORABLE-- and so is the manga. xDD NANA is an amazing series ♥) and I just really, really love it. The music is so relaxing, seriously. Even though Hachi's themes are cheerful and somehow spirit lifting, it still manages to be quiet. Whenever I just feel like listening to something quiet, I turn this CD on. It's honestly great music to listen to in the background, and personally, I think a lot of the songs are beautiful. If you've never really listened to many instrumentals, you should give this a shot-- I thought I'd NEVER like instrumentals, and now I love them. xD Not just because of this CD, but it is one of the major reasons. ♥ I also threw in the very popular 'Glamorous Sky', along with 'My Medicine' and Trapnest's 'Endless Story', which don't come on the OST but are in the movie. Comments: I'm not entirely sure how to describe the sheer BEAUTY of this song. it starts of quite and slow, a simple, breathy flute, joined slowly by a guitar of some sort, and something small and sparkly, I think a triangle. as the song moves forward, it's slowly woven together with various other instruments, then about 50 seconds in bursts into a melody that is breathtaking and clear and glittering. it does this various times, but the last one is vibrant and sweeps you away, with clear trumpets and wonderful drums and glittery sparkling and swirling and just...GUH. the percussion gives this a very asian feel, and the music often reminds me of the Princess Mononoke soundtrack (one of the most beautiful things on the face of the planet). this song really FEELS like a fantasy, a dream, something you'd find in the soundtrack of an epic fantasy movie. it's AMAZING.

Title: People of the North Pole
Artist: Uematsu Nobuo
Album: Final Fantasy X OST
Genre: Game Soundtrack
Time/Size: 4:42/4.31MB
Comments: so I rotated this song a while back, when Eurodancer had its own actual WEBSITE, and I figured, what the hell? XD this song is hauntingly beautiful, starting with a simple violin melody with a background of light drums. it's joined by another simple violin melody, simple background rhythm, sort of. the second main melody of this song is slow, haunting, and there's SOMETHING in the music here (and not just the piano) that just SPARKLES and GLITTERS and it blew me away the first time I heard it. this song FEELS like cold and wind and snow and ICE and the harsh, cold sun of the north pole glinting off the ice, and I just...I LOVE it. it feels like it could be the background music for a simple scene of just sweeping landscape, or the background music of "people of the north pole" migrating, and it's simply wonderful.

Title: Shadow of Doubt
Artist: Yoko Kanno
Album: Vision of Escaflowne OST
Genre: Anime Soundtrack
Time/Size: 4:45/4.36MB
Comments: same thing with this song, I rotated it back before Eurodancer moved to LJ. XD if you are unfamiliar with the name, Yoko Kanno is a GENIUS of soundtrack-writing, and has written more than I even know of. this song, however, seems at FIRST to be fairly simple. it's entirely cello, with the rare inclusion of someone whispering something in the background. each part of it starts off with a single cello, but it's slowly joined by more and more and more, all at different pitches and all playing totally different melodies that just blend into this crisp, sweeping masterpiece of sound and beauty. it doesn't really sparkle, like the last two, but I have no problem with that. the middle melody in this is warm and smooth and reminds me of lazy summer days spent just lying in grassy fields. it's a wonderful piece.

Title: The Legend of Ashitaka
Artist: Hisaishi Joe
Album: Mononoke Hime OST
Genre: Anime/Movie Soundtrack
Time/Size: 5:48/5.32MB
Comments: so this is the OLDEST song on this rotation, I think. I've been in love with this for years, since the first time I watched this movie. it's a stunning movie, one of the many by Miyazaki Hayao (Spirited Away, Castle in the Sky, Kiki's Delivery Service), and the soundtrack was utterly breathtaking. I think this is my favorite piece from it, in all honesty. ANYWAY. it starts off very quietly, so don't be surprised if you don't really hear anything at first. really all you hear at first is some faint drums, almost like a heartbeat, and then a slow, dark melody on cello joined by...violins? I think? I'm not entirely sure. whatever, though, it doesn't really matter. as I said, the beginning is dark and slow and faintly ominous, but about a minute into the song it sweeps you up into the main melody of the movie. it's a melody that is epic and haunting and beautiful and wonderfully fitting of the sweeping Japanese landscape. simple, sheer LOVE.

Title: The Battle
Artist: Harry Gregson-Williams
Album: The Chronicles of Narnia OST
Genre: Soundtrack
Time/Size: 7:08/6.58MB
Comments: I'm not sure why, because I utterly ADORE this soundtrack, but it's gotten a lot of criticism. a lot of people don't LIKE it. but in all honesty, the moment I heard the second track on the soundtrack I fell in love. this, however, is NOT that track, but, as I'm sure you can guess, the background music for the final battle. it starts off slow and dark, with simple violin and cello, but it sweeps up into trumpets and something swirly and an AMAZING choir. this piece often changes pace, weaving between slow, haunting melodies and dark, forboding music that really FEELS like the waiting before a battle. the violin throughout much of it swirls around, the choir is simply breathtaking. there's one scene where the choir melody is so beautiful I almost cry half the time I listen to it. the build-up to it is beautiful, as well, and there's a strangely synthetic percussion flowing through the whole piece that at first doesn't really seem like it should fit but DOES. it's a long song, yes, and the build-up is kind of slow, but I honestly feel it's WORTH it. about five and a half minutes in it sweeps into the actual COMBAT music, which is hectic and rushed and it's awesome, and then it quickly just...falls off. into a slow, dream-like little bit that's the perfect way to end it.

Comments: I'll admit I don't really listen to this song much, as I'm more into her happy-bouncy music, but this is a nice song. it's slow and breezy and feels faintly like summer, and BONNIE's voice is lovely to listen to. lots of almost-acoustic electric guitar.

Comments: like the previous song, this is light and breezy and feels oddly summery. Maaya's voice is, as usual, breathtaking, and she does these light, airy songs beautifully. I LOVE the melody of the last couple words of the choruses, and the synth in this is wonderful. as is the harmonica. XDD

sinspire wanted me to upload my two OTHER favorite Zwei songs. XD since I love the group so much this was kinda hard to choose, BUT. this song, Movie Stars, well I didn't really like it that much at first. XD; it starts off a little strangely. but then I actually listened to the rest of the song, and DAMN is it catchy. it doesn't have QUITE the same feeling to it as "Dragon", but there's a strange blend of light-heartedness and solemnity that I just adore. for the record, I just adore the way she says "movie stars." it's so CUTE~

Comments: this was the second song I heard by them, and while the first ("ICE BREAKER") was really good, this one was AWESOME. the feel to this one is slightly darker than all the rest, and it's wonderful. I just LOVE the chorus, and her voice is just awesome for the music they perform. the techno is awesome in this one, feeling strangely aquatic.

Comments: ...the numbers in the time of the song amuse me. >.> ANYWAY. second song I ever heard performed by Imogen Heap, who's the amazing vocalist for Frou Frou. I'm generally not that big a fan of Frou Frou, because I think the songs are a little boring compared to her solo music, and they just don't make full use of her AMAZING vocal range. this song, however, is a very fun one, and if you've seen Shrek 2 you've heard it before. XD Immi sounds awesome in this, as usual, and the synth is dark but strangely fun. don't let the strange beginning turn you off, this song is totally worth a download.

sorry this is so late, but I've been really busy lately. x_x but yeah, I absolutely ADORE orchestral music, and the first song on this rotation wandered onto my MP3 player a couple days ago and I realized THIS was what I had to do for this week's theme.

Ugggggh. xD I am so sorry I didn't update last weekend! Honestly, it completely slipped my mind-- I forgot I even had a rotation. @__@ To make up for it, this week there are the usual 5 songs, and on top of that a single! Actually, it really isn't to make up for it... xD; I was planning to upload the single anyways. Oh well ♥ I was going to upload an OST too but I decided I'll do it next week. My computer is being whacko. @__@
Oh yeah, just a quick warning. I tend to really rant during my comments... I end up talking more about the artist or how I discovered the song than the actual SONG. Sorry about that. :'D I know you don't want to waste time reading about stuff you could care less about, so just keep in mind that every song is worth downloading. xD You don't have to read the comments to know if it's good or not.
Title: Secret Garden
Artist: Gackt
Album: Rebirth
Genre: J-pop/J-rock (?)
Time/Size: 4:39
Comments: I like Gackt, but I've never really LOVED him. Out of his many songs there are only a few that I can recognize and love. This is my all time favorite. Gackt's voice is always pretty, but I think it sounds really amazing here. ♥ If you have never heard Gackt (which I doubt if you've liked Japanese music for awhile-- he's insanely, insanely popular. xD) then I suggest downloading this-- it's an amazing song.

Album: Queen of Hip-Pop
Genre: Hip-Pop! xD
Time/Size: 4:19
Comments: You know, there really isn't anything special about this song. It's a very typical hip-hop-ish Namie song. But for some reason, it's one of my favorites of hers. Possibly because it was one of my first-ever Namie songs and I fell in love with it (and HER xD) the first time I heard it. When I got a new computer, I lost it, and it was one of the few songs I never managed to get back. The other day I found it again, and when I listened to it got a huge smile on my face for some reason.. xDD Yeah, I don't mean to be telling my life story here, sorry! It's a really great song though~

Album: Se7en Vol. 4 - Se7olution
Genre: K-pop
Time/Size: 3:12
Comments: I don't know much about SE7EN at ALL. xD I only have two songs by him! But, I would certainly like more ♥ He's great! I really got to know this song more during the time I was obsessed with the anime School Rumble. :'D On my playlist, which is in alphabetical order, SE7EN came after School Rumble. I'd always listen to the School Rumble theme songs, and then this song would come on after them, so I reeeally grew onto it. Now, I adore it. It's insanely catchy and SE7EN has great English! I read somewhere he's going to "take the U.S. by storm" ... I'm not sure about that, since I'm sure a lot of people won't listen to him just because he's Korean, but he has a great voice and great English and I'm hopeful for him! xD♥

Comments: I suppose this is basically your typical JE song-- upbeat and happy. I find it very hard to get to actually RECOGNIZE a JE band, because most of their songs, to me, sound the same. If I heard a random Arashi song or a random V6 song, and was asked who sung it, I wouldn't know what to say since most JE bands sound the same to me. But ANYWAYS, this song is one of V6's standouts for me, for some reason. It's somehow peaceful to me, even if it isn't a really calm song. I love it. :D It makes me want to sing along, too bad I don't know Japanese... I can sing along with the short Engrish parts, at least! xD

But anyways, I heard this song for the first time on the very recent A BEST 2 -white- album. I *love* it. xD It's so happy and upbeat and bouncy and I love everything about it. Out of every song I have ever loved, I can't even describe how much I adore this one. ;_; It isn't just a temporary favorite song, one I'll get bored of in a few weeks. I listen to it over and over and over. Whenever it comes on, no matter what I can't turn it off-- even if it's only played for like 3 seconds. :'D I first heard it because it's the insert song to the drama I'm currently obsessed with, Hana Yori Dango 2. Once I heard it, I loved it right away, and downloaded it, and now it's in the top 3 most played songs in my iTunes with over 200 plays. xD Which may not seem like that much, but AH WELL. Title: TREE CLIMBERS
Artist: Kimura Kaela
Album: TREE CLIMBERS
Genre: JPop
Time/Size: 3:16/4.57MB
Comments: I don't really know much about Kimura Kaela, but this song is SO MUCH FUN. I love the beat and the guitars, and her voice is gorgeous. it's really catchy, and her English is pretty good, too, but after looking her up that may be because she was born in England. XD; ah, well. ANYWAY. so the verses are lots of fun, but my favorite part is the bridge after the second verse. XD it's what first REALLY attracted me to the song, and after listening to the rest of it I've fallen in love. kinda summer-y, nice and bouncy.

Title: CAN'T SLEEP, CAN'T EAT, I'M SICK
Artist: Namie Amuro
Album: CAN'T SLEEP, CAN'T EAT, I'M SICK
Genre: JPop/Hip-Hop
Time/Size: 3:46/3.45MB
Comments: so this song? is SO. MUCH. FUN. Namie's got one of the most amazing voices I've heard in JPop, and it's perfect for the hip-hop-y feel of most of her music. (which reminds me, I really need to update my playlists. oh well, whatever.) ANYWAY. nice and upbeat and bouncy and hip-hop-y, and it just makes me want to dance. I love the mix of English and Japanese in her lyrics, and her English accent is actually pretty good.

Title: D.D.D. (feat. SOULHEAD)
Artist: Koda Kumi
Album: BEST ~second session~
Genre: JPop/Hip-Hop
Time/Size: 4:11/9.71MB
Comments: aaaah~, I love this song. XD so much that it's my sister's ringtone on my phone. ANYWAY. just like Namie, Kumi's got the perfect voice for her hip-hop/pop style, and this song is a perfect demonstration of it. upbeat, bouncy, and REALLY catchy, I dance everytime I hear it. XD yet another song with an awesome mixture of English and Japanese. awesome guitar, awesome beat, and the rapping? if funny and fun at the same time. XD

Title: until that Day...
Artist: Hamasaki Ayumi
Album: Secret
Genre: JPop
Time/Size: 4:47/7.59MB
Comments: so everyone's heard Startin', Born to Be, Beautiful Fighers, etc. some of the funnest songs off of Ayu's Secret album. but this? is one of my FAVORITES. it starts off with little more than synth and a beat, and then raw electric guitar. when Ayu first sings, it's muffled by synthesizers, and strangely metallic. but my favorite parts of this song are the "ooh, la la la" and the CHORUSES. the whole song is fast-paced and upbeat, but the chorus is an explosion of voice and instruments and I LOVE IT. yeah. I worship this woman.

Title: Dog and Month
Artist: BONNIE PINK
Album: -Every Single Day-
Genre: JPop
Time/Size: 4:09/5.67MB
Comments: at first this song seems a little less upbeat than everything else on the rotation, BUT. I've just remembered how much I love it and am wondering why I don't listen to it more often. anyway. BONNIE PINK has a beautiful voice, light and airy but rich. I love the beat of this song, and the choruses are bright and bubbly and make me smile, and I love the guitar that opens the chorus. this song's fairly jazzy, too, which is probably what made me want to listen to it because I love jazzy JPop. XD aaah~, and I love the ending. the guitar and her voice just work BEAUTIFULLY together.

Title: Sanctuary
Artist: Sakamoto Maaya
Album: Chikyuu Shoujo Arjuna OST (?)
Genre: JPop/Anime Soundtrack
Time/Size: 2:35/4.74MB
Comments: this song is...wow. so pretty. no words for how pretty it is. if you've listened to anime music, you've heard Sakamoto Maaya at least once. she has this insanely beautiful voice, high and airy and silky. the music itself is dark and synthy, with this strange sense of being both claustrophobic and free at the same time.

Title: Elements
Artist: RURUTIA
Album: R
Genre: JPop
Time/Size: 4:27/6.12MB
Comments: so this was the second song I heard by RURUTIA, and while I'm still not certain if I like it or "Halleluiah" more, this song totally blew me away when I heard it. she's not very well known, in the JPop world, but DAMN is she amazing. her voice is somewhat similar to Akino Arai, in that it's soft and very, very breathy, but it is stunningly beautiful, and perfect for the style of music she seems to prefer. rich, dark, hypnotic and synthy, this song is haunting in its beauty.

Title: Madowaku no Hana
Artist: Akino Arai
Album: ???
Genre: JPop/Anime Soundtrack
Time/Size: 4:05/3.75MB
Comments: this song is so pretty I almost cried the first time I heard it. Akino Arai is decently well-known among the anime community (she did the ending themes for Outlaw Star), and slightly moreso in the Jpop community, but there's not really much known about HER. anyway. she has this breathtakingly beautiful voice, just perfect for the kind of music that SHE prefers. this particular song is dark and dreamy, hypnotic, with an immensely nostalgic feel to it that I just ADORE.

Title: Have You Got it in You?
Artist: Imogen Heap
Album: Speak for Yourself
Genre: Trip-Hop
Time/Size: 4:11/3.83MB
Comments: yeah, Immi seems to be very popular on here. XD so this song has a very dreamy feel to it, and I figured I'd upload it. this is one of my favorite songs of the Speak for Yourself album. it's dark, hypnotic, with a strangely urgent feel to it, and besides that the song just sparkles. something about the music in it (which Immi writes herself, for those of you who are newcomers) glitters and sparkles and I LOVELOVELOVE it. ♥~

Title: Genetically Modified
Artist: Orka Veer
Album: Sam's Solutions
Genre: Trip-Hop/Electronica/Experimental
Time/Size: 6:55/9.51MB
Comments: don't let the length of this song daunt you. it is TOTALLY worth the download, and doesn't feel NEARLY that long. it starts off with high, simple but haunting piano, slowly joined by all sorts of strange synth that sounds vaguely mechanical. about a minute in it's joined by a slowly building background melody, and Michael's synthesized vocals (the lyrics of which have actually been switched so that they're sung backwards, which is really cool and just adds to the dark, dreamy feel Orka Veer's music has). I associate this man with Imogen Heap, so if you like her? GIVE HIM A SHOT. definitely. and if you like what you hear, check out his myspace! the entire CD is up for download, and he keeps all his music FREE.

Title: Regret
Artist: Malice Mizer
Album: Ma Cherie
Genre: Instrumental
Time/Size: 4:35/4.21MB
Comments: oooh man, I've been in love with this song for YEARS. years. this isn't the type of thing Malice Mizer generally did (they were more into the crazy, oddly clown-like music, that was nonetheless AMAZING), but Gackt (their longest-lasting vocalist, who I'm pretty sure most of you have at least HEARD of) was a classically trained pianist and this is one of the few songs where he puts that training to use. he wrote the thing, actually, and I am forever in awe of him for it. it begins with a recording of gently rolling waves, joined quickly by quiet, peaceful piano that just takes my breath away. the crescendo of the song is three separate melodies at once, and it sweeps you up and carries you along before gently bringing you back down for the ending, once again joined by the recording of waves. THIS is the song I want to listen to if I want to calm myself down, or if I'm writing something quiet and peaceful but not necessarily depressing.

Title: Seperation
Artist: Hikaru Nanase
Album: Angel Sanctuary OST
Genre: Anime Soundtrack
Time/Size: 1:50/1.69MB
Comments: beautiful, beautiful song. I'm not entirely sure where this was used in the anime (I've never actually WATCHED it, unfortunately), but it's dark and haunting and lonely and utterly beautiful. personally, I think it's far too short. XD;;
[ DOWNLOAD ]
Title: Gessekai (Instrumental)
Artist: Akifuma Tada
Album: Nightwalker OST
Genre: Anime Soundtrack
Time/Size: 2:15/2.58MB
Comments: this is the instrumental of Nightwalker's opening theme, Gessekai, which is performed by BUCK-TICK and will likely be uploaded at a later date because it's an AMAZING song. anyway. THIS version is entirely piano, and takes a dark, hauntingly seductive song and turns it into a quiet, lonely piece that often brings me to tears, it's so beautiful.

Title: Those Who Fight [Piano Version]
Artist: Uematsu Nobuo
Album: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children
Genre: Game Soundtrack
Time/Size: 4:00/5.50MB
Comments: this is, without a doubt, the fastest-paced song in this entire rotation. XD; the piano in this is bright, clear and lively, and feels strangely like the background music of a city scene in some old 50's movie. nonetheless, it manages to be very pretty, light and airy, and it picks you up and sweeps you along without a care.
[ DOWNLOAD ]
Title: Eternal
Artist: Evanescence
Album: Origin
Genre: Instrumental
Time/Size: 7:22/6.75MB
Comments: yeah, this one's kinda long, hm? XD but it has a totally different feel from the rest of the rotation, and doesn't really feel as long as it is. mainly because it's essentially three different songs woven into one, although the main instrument used IS the piano. the first one starts with some synth and clear, sharp piano, joined shortly after by electric guitar and richer synth. it lasts for about three minutes, ending in a burst of thunder and the sound of rain, which slowly bleeds into the next part of the song. this is my favorite part of the song, with simply beautiful piano and background guitar, and the sounds of the rainstorm flow through the whole piece of the song. it's soothing, even with the low rumbles of thunder, and I like to just close my eyes, sit, and listen to it. the piano fades back into the rainstorm, which slowly bleeds into the last piece of the song, which is mainly low, mellow guitar, or keyboard (not sure which).

xD; Hi everyone! I'm Shannon~ I'm also going to be rotating here now because I'm too lazy to make my own rotation! Unlike Aja, I'm not going to have themes, I think.. I'll just put up my favorite songs and whatever I feel like sharing. I'll update every weekend-- between Friday night and Sunday night, for sure. Most of what I share will be east-Asian music.. probably 90% of it Japanese. xD
Please comment if you're taking something, alright? I'm curious to know what you like!
I guess that's about it. :D;; Onto the music!

Comments: aaaah, this song is SOOO PRETTY. it fits Rociel perfectly, if you're familiar with the manga this short anime was based off of. dark, chilling, and hauntingly beautiful, the melody almost drives me to freaking TEARS. the little snatches of choir are perfect, and just...asdkljfaskf. there's a strange, almost heart-beat like sound throughout most of the song that just makes it even CREEPIER, and I love the whole thing. *flail*

Title: Crested Hens
Artist: Solas
Album: Solas
Genre: Celtic
Time/Size: 5:13
Comments: HOKAY, SO. this? is one of the PRETTIEST songs I've ever listened to. I mean this seriously. it's a beautiful mix of all sorts of instruments, varying from the guitar to the BFlat flute to a fiddle to an accordion (I think. oO don't remember for sure), and they all weave in and out of the melody in a way I can't BEGIN to explain. there's a liquid beauty to this song, a sad, tragic beauty (and woooow, can you tell I like that kind of stuff?), and I STILL haven't figured out why the song was titled "Crested Hens" because it doesn't seem to fit at all.

Title: Time's Scar
Artist: Mitsuda Yasunori
Album: Chrono Cross OST
Genre: Game Soundtrack
Time/Size: 2:31
Comments: so this one starts nice and calming, simple guitar and high, fragile flute, and then about a minute in it bursts into what SOUNDS like a bazouki or octave mandolin (I could be wrong) and a full-on orchestra with violins and drums and bass and YUM. this song is just AWESOME, and I've loved it for years. it feels almost Celtic, definitely like something from a fantasy soundtrack which, I suppose, it is. Title: The Galtee Hunt
Artist: Clannad
Album: An Díolaim
Genre: Celtic
Time/Size: 3:07
Comments: so I'm not entirely sure why, but I always get really happyhyperbouncy while listening to this song. it's not that upbeat or anything, it's actually kind of mellow and laid-back. *shrug* whatever. nice, simple piece, consisting entirely of harp, flute, and guitars, but it's lovely and I LOOOVE listening to it.

Title: Taskinlude
Artist: Hamasaki Ayumi
Album: I am...
Genre: JPop/Instrumental
Time/Size: 1:20
Comments: yeaah, you're all thinking "Ayu? instrumentals? wuuut?" but some of my FAVORITE songs of hers have been the instrumentals that she's got on her CD's. XDD this one's dark, almost INDUSTRIAL in feel (and by industrial I mean it feels like industry), with a strange, type-writer like feel to it that I LOVE. I'm not sure if it's a synthesized guitar or just synthesizer, but it's dark and gritty, and the bass line and the drum line are AWESOME. totally worth a download.

so anyway, sorry there was no rotation last week! I was planning on doing it on sunday, but I woke up sunday morning with NO. INTERNET. and I only got it back on friday. so to make up for it, you'll be getting TEN songs this week, my favorites by ten of my favorite artists. expect some variety! XD; also, I've deleted the "project" for the first rotation, so they will no longer be up for download in about a week.
Title: Glittering Cloud (The Plague of Locusts)
Artist: Imogen Heap
Album: Plague Songs
Genre: Trip-Hop
Time/Size: 3:36/5.51MB
Comments: this song was actually written and recorded for a CD of songs about the 7 plagues of Egypt (I love Immi and the stuff she writes and what she writes for XD), although it's hard to tell looking at the lyrics. *shrug* she uses a lot of symbolism. ANYWAY. this song is dark and hypnotic, with her usual self-written and performed synth. this woman is a GODDESS, I say. a goddess. the music in this sparkles, it glitters, it slides, it flows like water, and there is really just no way to accurately describe the wonder that is Immi and the music she writes. don't read this, just DOWNLOAD, dammit.

Title: Get Out Alive
Artist: Three Days Grace
Album: One-X
Genre: Rock
Time/Size: 4:22/6.84MB
Comments: this starts off dark and slow, once again strangely hypnotic. the first time I heard this song it was the lyrics that caught my attention, and it's definitely my favorite off their new album. this song is simple that they've EVOLVED, and it amazes me. Adam's voice is incredible, as is the guitar. at first I really only liked the first half of the song, because it got a little more rocky at the end and I didn't think it fit as well, but after listening to it a lot I love the song in its entirety. the whole song has this strange sense of danger, of malice throughout the whole thing, and I utterly ADORE it. once again, my descriptions suck and you should just download the freaking song.

Title: Dragon
Artist: Zwei
Album: Z
Genre: JPop
Time/Size: 5:17/9.11MB
Comments: this song starts off with some fairly fast-paced violin, and then melds very smoothly into techno. the beat of this song is fun. XD at first the song seems good, but not AMAZING, and then it just BURSTS into this really fast-paced chorus that makes me bouncy and hyper and giggly. the song is AMAZING, and Ayumu's vocals are wonderful. I LOVE her voice, and she has this very interesting way of hitting her high notes that I envy because I just CANNOT do it the way she does. so in a short summary, if you like violin, techno, good vocals, or fast songs? THIS is the song for you. I LOVE Zwei, and this song just emphasized that love.

Artist: A Perfect Circle
Album: emotive
Genre: Rock
Time/Size: 4:46/6.56MB
Comments: oooh, man. john lennon cover. personally? I think this version is SOOOO much better. but that's just me, so whatever. *shrug* it starts off with simple but dark, haunting piano, and then Maynard's vocals? just...just...alksjfalskjfdlksdf GUH. the entire song is PERFECT, just...it's so dark and chilling and it makes me shiver and I LOVE IT. I think the dark, almost malevolent feel to the song better fits the lyrics than anything ELSE they could've done. ...and for the record? this song will FOREVER remind me of Death Note, because I made myself a Death Note layout featuring the lyrics for it.

Album: The Black Parade
Genre: Rock
Time/Size: 4:39/4.31MB
Comments: so. you've all heard "Welcome to the Black Parade". probably "Teenagers" as well, and maybe even "House of Wolves". but this? is WITHOUT A DOUBT my favorite song off their new album. it's proof of how they, like TDG, have evolved. there's this oddly UKRAINIAN feel to the whole thing, which I think was meant to sound ITALIAN but I'm weird and it sounds Ukrainian. WHATEVER. Gerard's voice in this is just AMAZING, and the guitars and the lyrics and just...just...alsdkjfals. YEAH. it also features Liza Minelli (sp?), who is a HUGE celebrity among the music community and these guys are damned lucky she performed with them and they know it. XDD the ending is awesome, too. word of warning, though. this song is in .m4a format, meaning it'll only work in Winamp and a few types of MP3 players/iPods.

Title: Darkness

Album: The Tension and the Spark
Genre: Trip-Hop/Pop
Time/Size: 5:17/7.28MB
Comments: so this is one of the more MELLOW songs in this rotation, the genres chosen because I'm not entirely sure WHAT to put this under but those seemed the best. now, some of you may recognize Darren Hayes from his days as the vocalist of Savage Garden. for those of you who haven't heard of them, he has this AMAZING voice. it's not really your normal male pop voice in that his voice is light and airy instead of...well...pop-y. ANYWAY, this is one of those songs that'll wander onto my playlist and I just HAVE to go back and listen to it again. I love the feeling it has, dark and lonely (yeah, it seems to be a recurring theme XD;), and it's really strangely SWEET.

Genre: JPop/Ballad
Time/Size: 4:16/5.86MB
Comments: normally, I wouldn't upload this one because I'm sure it's been up on a TON of MP3 rotations that rotate Japanese music, BUT. this is pretty much my current favorite of hers, and since I all but WORSHIP this woman I HAD to put something up. so I generally don't like pop ballads (I tend to find them rather boring), and that means even Ayu's, I heard the opening strains of piano for this and IMMEDIATELY fell in love. her voice is beautiful, the piano is beautiful, the melody is beautiful. JEWEL is so PEACEFUL. this is the song I listen to if I need to calm down, or center myself, or anything like that. if I'm listening to my MP3 player hanging around with friends and this comes on? I tell them I'll be back in about five minutes, turn the volume up so I can only hear the song, and just LISTEN to it. half the time it brings me to TEARS it's so beautiful.

EVERYTHING about this song is perfect, the orchestra, the harmony, Amy's voice, the GUITAR ohGOD the GUITAR. Comments: so I've never actually even CONSIDERED uploading Goldfrapp before, and I'm not sure why because this woman is AMAZING. she has a very unique brand of electronica, often almost DISCO-Y (though not in this song), often very dreamy. thus, the case of Hairy Trees, which is a really dreamy, really pretty song with a VERY STRANGE NAME. the lyrics are...ah...raunchy, if you interpret them that way, but...this song glitters, it sounds like bubbles floating through the air...Alison's vocals are BEAUTIFUL, aptly described as "crystalline" by her website, and this song is DEFINITELY worth a download.

Title: The Gates of Istanbul
Artist: Loreena McKennitt
Album: An Ancient Muse
Genre: New Age
Time/Size: 6:58/6.39MB
Comments: you guys have NO IDEA how excited I was when I heard that Loreena had a new CD out, especially after I heard this song on the radio. IT IS MY FAVORITE, without a doubt. it's one of her more Arabic-sounding pieces, which are generally my favorite because she does them SO WELL. it starts off with the deep, rich strains of an 'ud, melting into yet more 'ud but accompanied by various other instruments, including a haunting vocal drone (god, I LOVE it when she throws those in), a Turkish clarinet, and lots of others. ah, well, whatever. NEEDLESS TO SAY, it is RICH with Arabic instruments. anyway. Loreena's vocals are, as usual, breathtaking. this is one of those songs that I just HAVE to turn up if I can, because the moment I do it just sweeps me away and I ADORE IT. I also have this habit of playing it the instant I see snow, mainly because the first time I heard it was snowing and I just stood in front of the door and watched the snow fall while listening to it and it was a strangely profound experience.

Title: Embers of Love
Artist: Mich Gerber featuring Imogen Heap
Album: Amor Fati
Genre: Trip-Hop
Time/Size: 4:26/4.07MB
Comments: all right, this is gonna sound kinda odd, BUT. this song? reminds me of Death Note. not for the lyrics, but for the melody. and for the fact that it's what my sister and I listened to while reading Death Note, 'cause it kinda FELT like it, you know? XD; this song is basically cello with Imogen's beautiful vocals singing over it. the song is dark, rich, and Imogen's vocals are PERFECT, light and breathy but strong at the same time. you don't quite get to experience the full range of her voice, unfortunately, but it blends beautifully with the slow cello melody. the whole thing feels kind of rainy, kind of like a dark night, kind of like the middle of winter. not quite sure how to explain it, but DAMN is it good.

Title: Silence (Poem Version)
Artist: Delerium feat. Sarah McLachlan
Album: Poem
Genre: Trip-Hop/Pop/New Age
Time/Size: 4:05/3.77MB
Comments: I'm not entirely sure what genre to put this under, so those were the closest I could find. XD; the genre given by the CD itself when I ripped it was rock, but uhm...yeah. definitely NOT rock music. let's start by saying that the fact that it's performed by Sarah McLachlan should be reason enough to download it; the woman has one of the most beautiful and unique voices I've EVER heard. the song itself is dark and dreamy, with airy synth, clear, sharp piano, and a dash of Gregorian chanting that combines to form a piece of music that feels like wandering through some enchanted fantasy-land. the thing I've noticed about the music on this CD is that, no matter how synth-ie it gets, there's something very natural about it. I've listened to it just walking through the woods, and it fits perfectly. for the record, there are TWO versions of this song; the original was featured on Delerium's "Karma" album, and had an extra verse and thus, was longer.

Title: Stolen Child
Artist: Loreena McKennitt
Album: Elemental
Genre: New Age
Time/Size: 5:07/7.04MB
Comments: let me start off my saying that I ADORE this woman. the lyrics to this song are actually a poem of the same name, written by W.B. Yeats, with slight adaptations by Loreena. the melody to this is dark, melodious, almost lullaby-like. the story is about fairies taking away a child to their world, and the song SOUNDS like something you'd hear in a fairy-world. Loreena's vocals are, much like Imogen's, light and breathy, but strangely rich, and while there's something a little odd about it, it is, without a doubt, beautiful. Loreena's harp is beautiful, and between it and the odd synth in the background, the piece almost glitters. the addition of garbled, muted recordings of barking dogs give it a chilling, otherwordly feel that I ADORE, and given Celtic mythology is actually very correct (barking dogs were considered a warning that something from the world of the Sidhe, the fairies and gods, was roaming the earth). also, the imagery the lyrics provoke, courtesy of Yeats of course, is simply BREATHTAKING.

Title: Spark
Artist: Tori Amos
Album: Tales of a Librarian
Genre: Pop
Time/Size: 4:13/3.90MB
Comments: maa~ pop was the best genre I could think of, but...Tori Amos isn't really pop. *huff* ANYWAY. Tori's voice is gorgeous, with a rather unique cadence. looking at the lyrics, you can TOTALLY tell she was on drugs while writing them, but there's a lot of meaning behind them that's hard to pick up and is utterly astounding once you do. I'm not going to get into that, though, 'cause no one wants to hear it. XD; anyway. fitting with this week's theme, this song is dark and eerie. the main melody is performed on a synthesized guitar, and she sings through a synthesizer for much of the piece. first time I heard this, the melody of the verses sent a shiver down my spine, and the way her voice changes from rich to breathy is fascinating. the bridge, like most of her songs, doesn't really seem to fit with the rest of the song at first, but after you've listened to it for a while you can see the ways the work together. her piano playing? is beautiful.

Title: Spies
Artist: Coldplay
Album: Parachutes
Genre: Pop/Rock

Comments: definitely my favorite song off of their first album, "Spies" is both typical and un-typical of Coldplay music. not that being typical of them is a bad thing, because they're as popular as they are for a reason. XD; it's slow, dark, eerie, and Chris's vocals are perfect, gorgeous. with the exception of the almost siren-like beginning, at first it sounds like your typical Coldplay song, slow acoustic guitar with a simple melody and vocals with a tiny hint of echo. but after the verses is a small burst of guitar and drums, which is quite possibly the reason I love this song so much. during the verses, as well, there's a subtle, synthesized guitar rift in the background, and the whole thing adds a nice touch to an already awesome song. the lyrics are rather paranoid, and the music around them just amplifies the feeling.

Title: The Unforgiven
Artist: Metallica
Album: Metallica (a.k.a. The Black Album)
Genre: 80's Metal
Time/Size: 6:27/5.17MB
Comments: okay, so probably my favorite Metallica song EVER. at least, so far. XD; I loooooove this song~ lovelovelove. the melody of the verses are a little heavier than the chorus, but over all this song is dark and BEAUTIFUL. not all screaming and psycho guitars if that's what you're worried about. XD I LOVE the lyrics for this, though. I keep trying to figure out WHO they remind me off; parts of them remind me of Dean Winchester from Supernatural, others remind of Naruto...*shrug* Hetfield's vocals are amazing. *shiver* even the guitar solo is gorgeous. XD; *fangirl*

Album: The Marrow of a Bone
Genre: JRock
Time/Size: 4:08/5.29MB
Comments: okay, definitely my favorite Diru song, here. XD the beginning is a slow, almost magnetic-sounding build up, and then an explosion of guitars. the melody sent me into a fit the first time I heard it, it was SO AWESOME. Kyo's voice is so raw in this song, I LOVEITLOVEITLOVEIT, and the entire thing is just ORGASMIC.

Time/Size: 5:33/5.09MB
Comments: this song isn't quite as good as "Ryojoku no Ame", but it's probably my favorite by 12012. XD at least, that I've heard. I LOVE the guitar in this. it's addicting. like, whooooa addicting. I had this song stuck in my head for DAYS. XD it's kinda mellow, compared to most of their other stuff, but DUDE. it's awesome. seriously, the guitaaaaaar~ *flail*

Album: World Apart
Genre: JRock
Time/Size: 2:27/2.26MB
Comments: OMG. my sister and I had this song on repeat for a WEEK. STRAIGHT. it is SOOOOO addicting. not your run-of-the-mill AKFG, song; it doesn't really sound like anything else they've done. it's actually sung by their bassist, too, at least if I remember correctly. PERSONALLY, if all of their stuff sounded like this? I'd have every single freaking CD they owned. there seems to be a lot more to the style of this song than their usual; for one, I find it addicting, instead of simply fun to listen to once in a while. XD; the vocalist here is...wonderful, I think. and the song has me BOUNCING OFF THE WALLS. MUST. DOWNLOAD.

Comments: oooh, man. XD this song is dark and almost evil and TOTALLY insane. they share the same vocalist as Tool, and his voice is just...amazing. it sends shivers down my spine every time I hear it. the way he enunciates things, simply the way he sings...guh. this is one of A Perfect Circle's darker, angrier songs, and it begins with a BURST of electric guitar, and the lyrics are just...creepycrazyLOVE.

Title: Obsession ~strings~
Artist: Kajiura Yuki
Anime/Album: .hack//SIGN / .hack//EXTRA OST
Genre: anime soundtrack
Time/Size: 5:54/4.73MB
Comments: omg. I ADORE this song. tremendously. I honestly think it's my favorite song from .hack in general, let alone .hack//SIGN. the entire thing is a string orchestra, and it's got the same basic melody as "Obsession" but it's subtle and goes through twists and turns that make it SO MUCH BETTER than the vocal version. it sounds like something you'd hear in the soundtrack of an epic fantasy movie, like The Lord of the Rings or Eragon. it sends me into fits of aural orgasms.

Title: The Mountain
Artist: Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer
Album: Tanglewood Tree
Genre: folk
Time/Size: 3:39/3.35MB
Comments: don't let the genre decide for you. this song BEAUTIFUL, hauntingly beautiful. it's simple, with a beautiful melody and Tracy's voice? is wonderful. the melody of the guitar is simple, but the vocals are gorgeous. I'm repeating myself. XD; oops. Tracy's voice is perfect for this type of song; it carries the mournful lyrics in a way that brings me to tears half of the time, and Dave's harmony on the chorus and the Sumerian in the background of the last chorus are just as haunting. Dave's lyrics are chilling and beautiful and never cease to amaze me. I have seen these people in concert so many times you wouldn't believe it, and though Dave has since passed away Tracy still does beautifully. DEFINITELY worth a listen to!

Title: Miah's Liberty
Artist: Orka Veer
Album: Sam's Solutions
Genre: electronica/trip-hop/experimental
Time/Size: 4:18/5.92MB
Comments: all right, if you've never heard of this man? it wouldn't surprise me, but you've REALLY MISSED OUT. if you like people like Imogen Heap? you should totally give Orka Veer a shot. I discovered him through myspace (one of the few things I thank the site for), and he totally blew me away. I could listen to this song forever. it's dark and haunting and so. beautiful. that I can't even BEGIN to describe it. his vocals (which are sung backwards, which I found really cool) are gorgeous, light and airy and synthesized a little. "Miah's Liberty" is without a doubt my favorite by him (despite everyone else's love of "Bionic" which is, admittedly AMAZING); I haven't quite figured out why yet. there's just something about the FEEL of the song that sends me into fits. the music itself is almost entirely synthesizer, with the exception of the GORGEOUS piano that flitters in and out throughout the whole song.

Title: Lose Control
Artist: Evanescence
Album: The Open Door
Genre: hard rock
Time/Size: 4:50/4.42MB
Comments: hoookay. XD I'm sure everyone's heard "Call Me When You're Sober", off of the new Evanescence CD. probably "Lithium", too. but this song? is my second favorite, after "The Only One". simply for how CREEPY it is. it begins with a simple but haunting piano melody, and Amy singing wordlessly (soooo creepy~), and then the lyrics start. oh. my. god. at first it's more Amy whispering, with a tiny bit of melody, growing rapidly into even creepier melody. the chorus is an explosion of guitar, over which you can barely hear Amy whispering again; the guitar is harsh and searing and OHMYGOD awesome. the bridge after the second chorus at first appears to have little to do with the rest of the song, melody-wise, but the guitar is the same at the end of the first chorus and ties it all in together. and the lyrics are...disturbingly gorgeous. alksdfja;slkfdj♥~

XD the thing I love most about t.A.T.u. is how AWESOME the techno is. it always blows me away. this song? is no different. I ADORE it, and have listened to it for a day straight before. the vocals are perfect, as usual, and I WISH I could hit the notes the way she does. there's something very unique about them. anyway. the verses aren't as strong as the rest of the music and the chorus, but the whole thing is wonderful. the melody is strangely hautning, and the airy, flute-like melody at the end gives it a strangely Asian feel, and is a beautiful way to end the song.
