Summary: Sasuke screams, Naruto’s eyes are red, Sakura can see right through him, Kakashi knows him too well, and he can’t understand Orochimaru. Sasuke dreams hurt almost as much as his life.

Naruto’s fingers were tangled in his hair and he was backed against a wall. In a normal situation Sasuke would push him away and beat him up for being an even bigger idiot then usual. But this wasn’t a normal situation.

Naruto’s eyes were red.

(He was paralyzed. His eyes were too red.)

Naruto’s arm suddenly was against Sasuke’s neck, his red (too red) eyes were challenging him, daring him to speak. Sasuke knew he was just looking for a reason to press and cut off his air so he couldn’t breathe (breathing hurt.)

“Move.”

“No.” Naruto arm was tighter against Sasuke’s neck (his eyes were too red and Sasuke mind was suddenly filled with images of blood, dead bodies and a cold laugh.)

Sasuke wouldn’t beg (but he wanted to.)

Naruto’s lips were on his and his tongue was invading Sasuke’s mouth. Sasuke’s eyes were closed and his body stiff (Naruto’s eyes were red.)

Naruto’s teeth scraped against Sasuke’s face as his lips moved up Sasuke’s jaw. Sasuke closed his eyes tighter as Naruto’s warm breath covered his ear.

“You still don’t hate enough, foolish little brother.”

Sasuke’s eyes shot open and he was faced with the red eyes of his older brother.

Sasuke couldn’t hold back his scream (Naruto’s eyes had been red.)

“Sasuke-kun!”

Sakura was smiling and the wind blew in her hair. Sasuke watched her impassively as she grabbed his wrist.

“We promised to meet Naruto for ramen, remember Sasuke-kun?”

Her eyes were on his and it was as if she could see right through him. Before he could stop himself, Sasuke said, “No. I don’t remember.”

“Then I’ll be here to remind Sasuke-kun.”

Her hand was on his wrist and her eyes were on his and Sasuke suddenly needed to be far away before it was too late. “I don’t remember because I didn’t promise I would meet you and Naruto anywhere.”

“That’s right.” Sakura’s face melted into the familiar (not so familiar) face of his father. “You promised to kill Itachi for us.”

His eyes were still green.

“You don’t hate Itachi enough, Sasuke.”

Sasuke didn’t want to hold back his scream (his eyes were still green).

There were wires against Sasuke’s arms and Sasuke smelled wet grass.

“We both have found precious companions.”

Sasuke’s head snapped up and his eyes were filled with Kakashi-sensei’s face. He looked slightly disapproving and wrapped around his hand was the spare wire that tied him to a tree. Sasuke felt a sense of déjà vu (we both have found precious companions).

Kakashi-sensei knelt down beside him and the face of his mother replaced Sasuke’s vision of Kakashi-sensei. Her hand gently cupped his face.

“Sasuke-chan must kill Itachi.”

Sasuke wished he could scream (around her hands was the wire).

Orochimaru’s cold breath covered his neck and he whispering the same thing over and over again.

(But he couldn’t make out what the words were).

His wrists hurt and his body felt like it was being torn from the inside out.

Sasuke wanted to scream (everything hurts and he can’t understand what Orochimaru is saying.)

Sasuke wakes up and wishes he were dreaming again.
