Huzzah, an up-date on time! I know... you are so amazed.
I've managed to somewhat wrangle the cold down and kick it until it screams. Now if I can just chase it out of town, I think I'll be okay. For now, I'm abusing medications I would normally never deign to take (i.e. DayQuil).
Can I just say... Oklahoma is currently THICK with mosquitoes. We've been in a drought so long, suddenly we get a couple days of rain and WHAM!! It's like Woodstock for the little bitches (because, you know, only female mosquitoes drink blood; the males drink pollen from flowers. females need protein to lay eggs, so whenever you're being bitten by that obnoxious mosquito, the slut probably just got pregnant and needs your blood to bring in the next obnoxious generation. "the ciiiiircle of liiiiiiiife...").

I start the new job today (hence me being up at 6:15 a.m.) and am nervousnervousnervous! But I'm sure it'll all go well. It's just a little bit crazy-makin' going into a new situation where you have no real idea of what to expect.

Yes, The Bitchery. Like a winery, but with less full-bodied flavor.
I notice things always kersplat right when I need them to be organized. I.E. I need to be able to scan comics... kabam, no ability to scan.
This has led me to believe that life is set up like this: if you are well-prepared, nothing will happen. The first chance The Powers That Be have to throw a wrench into the works (i.e. you are unprepared and must do something NOW! to not be punished in some way) the wrench appears and the works grind to a halt.
So, to avoid tempting fate, I plan to color the comics for Thursday and Monday today. And draw this weekend to make next week easier. And since I'll be doing a single comic for Thursday (being as Monday is drawn), I think I'll make Thursday's double-sized. That just never happens anymore, joy!
No more wrenches, I hope... those things are a bitch to pull loose. |

In amazingly happy news, I have a new job! I start training on Aug. 14. Do you remember the photographers that came to your elementary, junior, and high schools? That's what I'm doing now.
It's a seasonal position, butit pays really well. It's 40-50 hours a week, so I'm going to have to do all my art on the weekends, but I'm already getting started. Hopefully, I can catch up a bit next week - I quit The Hated Job already. I have a couple paychecks coming my way from it - I'll just be frugal until I start the new one in a week.
So, on to the stuff you actually care about, yes?

I have some crazy desire to go completely mad. Thusly, I have applied for a second job. This one I really want, though. I'll be working with the Metropolitan Library System if I get it. Those of you who follow my up-dates religiously know I just recently got my AAS for Library Sciences. Thusly? I desperately want SOMETHING with the MetroLibrary System.
Add that to the 25 hrs I work as a DIRECTV Customer Service Rep each week and the two sessions I have at All-American Fitness with my personal trainer and I estimate I will soon have to give up eating and sleeping.
Nah, seriously... I think it'll all work out. I hope so. Nah, I know so - everything is going well.
I have even found time to work on my real passion: young adult novels. I'm working on two right now, and my goal is to have at least one finished and ready to be mailed out to various publishers for rejection by my 24th birthday (October 22). Keep your fingers crossed.

I've been so exhausted lately that I pretty much come home and have just enough energy to feed the dogs before I collapse into bed. That's why this comic is so late.
In other news, I've joined a gym (or maybe that's the same news... new workout routine, sudden, inexplicable exhaustion... hmm). So, soon I'll be a healthier, happier little artist.
The new job is going well. Doesn't mean I'm not tempted to go somewhere else. I hear CSRs for Sprint make $12 or $13 and hour starting pay...
So, enough rambling, right? The Boy will be here tonight and all is well in the world. Time for comic!
