Lesbian Lust: Red Hot Erotica
Editor: Sacchi Green
Publisher: Cleis Press

Story Length: 2500-5000 words

Payment: $50 plus two contributor’s copies

Deadline: October 15, 2009

Release Date: Summer 2010

The theme is right there in the title. All stories must deliver on that promise of intense, fulfilling lesbian sex. There are plenty of ways to get there; atmosphere, setting, and emotional as well as physical heat can all play a part in building sexual tension, while well-developed characters and a compelling plot or story arc are absolutely necessary.   Kink is fine, and if you can make vanilla just as spicy, all the better. I’ll be using a wide variety of stories, so your best bet is to write about what captures your imagination as well as about what turns you on. Women only this time.

Send manuscripts in MS Word or RTF to: sacchigreen@gmail.com. Queries welcome.

These are my latest guidelines. Please be sure to read and follow all the directions, especially including a bio and proper formatting (at least, if you want your story to be accepted!). Email pleaseantho@gmail.com if you have any questions.

Please, Sir: Erotic Stories of Female Submission and Male Dominance
Please, Ma’am: Erotic Stories of Male Submission and Female Dominance

Edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel
To be published by Cleis Press in Spring 2010

These two companion anthologies will explore the power dynamics of BDSM from the sub's/bottom's point of view. For an idea of the kinds of stories I like, please read my recent anthologies Yes, Sir: Erotic Stories of Female Submission and Yes, Ma’am: Erotic Stories of Male Submission. I strongly prefer modern settings, though have included the occasional historical piece. Futuristic/science fiction settings are almost never my cup of tea.

Please, Sir: What's it like to be a female submissive, whether a full-time slave to a powerful master, or a kinky woman involved in an intense scene? These stories should explore the range of ways women submit to men, whether masters, husbands, boyfriends, play dates, strangers, internet chatters, etc. Is the storyteller a lifelong bottom, or a new convert to kink? Does merely offering herself up to any guy get her off, or does something about this particular top excite her? Can be long- or short-term relationships, single encounters, or anything in between, as long as the characters and plot are believable and the story is hot. (I don't want simple snapshots of scenes that don't tell us anything about the characters' motivation.) Story should be from the point of view of a female masochist and or submissive/bottom, though it can be told from a first, second or third person POV (first is preferred).

Please, Ma’am: What makes a man cower before a powerful woman? Is he living out a lifelong fantasy, or has he always taken the submissive role with women? I want stories of sissy maids, hardcore masochists, visits with dommes, husbands completely devoted to their wives, full-time slaves, play partners, and much more. These can be long- or short-term relationships, single encounters, professionals, etc., as long as the characters and plot are believable and the story is hot. (I don't want simple snapshots of scenes that don't tell us anything about the characters' motivation.) Story should be from the point of view of a male masochist or submissive/bottom, though it can be told from a first, second or third person POV (first is preferred).

Both anthologies will feature stories from a wide spectrum of the BDSM world. The more creative your storytelling, the better. The examples listed above are just that, examples; feel free to let your imaginations run wild! I encourage you to think beyond clichéd scenarios and set your stories outside of the traditional play parties/dungeons, as well as thinking outside the box when it comes to "power play" and am especially looking for stories where not all of the erotic action is centered around physical sensation. There can also be more than two people in a given story or scene (or even just one if they are following someone's orders), and bisexual scenarios are welcome as long as the bottom/top relationship is a heterosexual one, as fitting the title. My biggest pet peeve with the submissions I’ve rejected in the past is lack of characterization/jumping into the BDSM scene too quickly.

Guidelines: Stories should be unpublished and not submitted elsewhere for publication. Stories should be 1,500 – 4,000 words, double spaced, Times New Roman 12 point font, in a Word document only. If it is truly impossible to send a Word document, please send as both a RTF AND in the body of the email. You MUST include your bio (50 words MAX) and full contact info (mailing address, phone number, real name/pseudonym) when you submit.

Payment will be $50/story and 1 copy of the book upon publication in Spring 2010. Contributors will retain the rights to their stories. You may submit up to two stories per book. Please note that the publisher has final approval over the manuscript.

Send your submission as a Word document to pleaseantho@gmail.com ONLY with either"Please, Sir Submission" or "Please, Ma’am Submission" in the subject line—if you are submitting to both anthologies, please send separate submissions for each (though you can attach 2 stories for one book in the same email).

Please make sure to follow ALL directions. I'm getting a lot of single-spaced, non-Word document submissions without bios or mailing addresses. Please also make sure you send your FINAL version of your story, not a first (and then second or third) draft. All of the pertinent information, including a polished version of the story and your bio/contact info should be included in a single email, not multiple ones. Thank you.

If you have any questions about Please, Ma’am or Please, Sir, please query pleaseantho@gmail.com

Deadline: July 1, 2009
Expect to hear back from me by November 2009

We’re working on several books here this summer at Circlet Press. Please note each one has a separate submission address. General guidelines on preferred format & length are the same for all, but each has a different editorial focus.

Like a Queen: gay and lesbian fairy tales
Like A Thorn: BDSM fairy tales
Like Twin Stars: bisexual-themed erotic sf/fantasy

Like a Queen

Subject matter: Have you ever thought that your favorite fairytale from childhood would make a great bedtime story for adults? We’re looking for erotic retellings of fairytales, fables, and bedtime stories, specifically with a gay/lesbian twist. This is your chance to tell the parts that the Brothers Grimm left out - what was really going on between Cinderella and her fairy godmother? What did the dwarves spend their time doing before Snow White arrived? What if there were a beautiful boy with golden locks at the top of a tower, waiting for rescue by a handsome prince? Whose kiss might Sleeping Beauty really be waiting for? Fairytales are about the fairest of both sexes, governed by outrageous passions and gifted magical powers with which to pursue them. Heroes, damsels, dragons, witches, wizards, enchanted kingdoms, evil queens, man-eating wolves - all of them have torrid sex lives. Ideally, we’d like to stick with European, Brothers-Grimm-style fairy tales, as they’re the most familiar to our readers, but really excellent submissions based on fables from other cultures will be considered. Although rape and violence have a considerable presence in the original versions of most of these stories, please leave them out of your retellings. Power dynamics are sexy, but stories where characters are forced into nonconsensual and/or violent acts will not be accepted. That said, we can’t wait to read your submissions; turn us on with your own erotic gay or lesbian tales of once upon a time!

Like a Thorn

Subject matter: Fairy tales often contain a more ‘adult’ interpretation within their metaphors and symbols. Was Sleeping Beauty’s pricking of her finger symbolic of her loss of virginity? The fairy tale landscape is awash in erotic possibilities, as well as intriguing opportunities to explore bondage, dominance and submission, and power exchange fantasies. Cruel queens, towers and dungeons, tests of love and valor, what fairy tale will inspire you to craft us an arousing/intense BDSM fantasy?

Like Twin Stars

Subject matter: According to Scientific American, bisexual behavior is common in over 1500 species of animals on Earth, including humans, for whom it has greater social and personal consequences than it does for penguins, baboons, or garter snakes. Use science fiction and fantasy to get at this subject. Could there be worlds where bisexuality was the norm? What’s erotic about being attracted to both ends of the gender spectrum and what sort of fantasies and fantastic worlds of magic or science can it spawn? Is there something special about bisexual characters or those who identify themselves as such? Explore the theme of bisexuality through this erotic and fantastical lens.

SUBMISSION DETAILS:
For all three anthologies, submission deadline is JULY 7, 2009. Email submissions only. Stories are best submitted as a word processor document (.doc, .rtf, .txt, etc.) attached to the email, but do not forget to include your complete contact information on the attached document! (If it’s only in the body of the email, it’s quite easy to have a brilliant story come out of the printer and then have no way to trace back where the heck it came from.) Manuscripts should be correctly/professionally formatted for submission. (If you’re not sure what we mean by that, Google it.)

Preferred word length is between 3000 and 7000 words. All stories must include explicit sexuality and erotic focus. (For more details on our editorial preferences, see the general submission guidelines on circlet.com. We highly recommend reading the guidelines, especially the “do not send” list, to increase your chances of sending us something we’ll love.) Try to avoid cliches. Fresh and direct language is preferred to overly euphemistic. Sex-positive, please, no rape/nonconsensuality/necrophilia or other purposefully gross topics. We do not publish horror.

Original stories only, NO REPRINTS unless the distribution was truly obscure. Ebooks pay $25 per story, with an additional $25 if the book gets a print edition. Authors get one copy of each edition, as well. Author retains the reprint rights to individual story; we buy non-exclusive rights to inclusion in this anthology only.

Submission addresses:
LIKE A QUEEN, send to: rachelcirclet (at) gmail (dot) com
LIKE A THORN, sent to: sarahcirclet (at) gmail (dot) com
LIKE TWIN STARS, send to: kellycirclet (at) gmail (dot) com

Also, don’t forget we are accepting microfictions for publication on Circlet.com. Every Friday is Fiction Friday. Microfictions should ideally be between 250 and 1000 words and pay either $5 via Paypal or a free book (or ebook). Microfictions should be submitted by email only to: circletintern (at) gmail (dot) com.

http://submissions.paper-bag-press.com/index.php

We at Paper Bag Press are looking for the highest-quality erotic short stories on the planet. Our official storefront, located at paper-bag-press.com, made its debut on February 14, 2009. We are always looking for more quality e-books. That's where you come in.

We are seeking new or established authors for exclusive publication. We want writers who can craft a short story with a strong plot that revolves around sexual experience. The stories are not necessarily romantic — the sex is the focus. If the characters are in luuurv, that’s fine, as long as the sex is hot.

We know that you are taking a chance on us since we are new. Because of this, we are offering a 5% royalty bonus beyond our normal royalty rate of 30% for the first 25 stories that are accepted for publication.

All kinds of stories are being considered, including:

  • Heterosexual
  • Homosexual
  • Bisexual
  • Groups
  • BDSM
  • Fetish
  • Anal
  • Oral
  • Vampire
  • Fantasy
  • Cowboy/Western
  • Futuristic/Sci-Fi
  • Historical
  • Paranormal

If you have an erotic story that you'd like to us to consider for publication, go to the Submit Your Story page to tell us about it! We are seeking stories from 1,000 to 15,000 words. However, we are not draconian about the word count. These are just guidelines and not strict observance.

We are strict about what we will not accept:

  • Pedophilia — all characters involved in sexual situations will be 18 years old or older.
  • Bestiality — no humans having sex with animals.
  • Rape — absolutely not allowed. All sex must be consensual.
  • Toilet issues — must we go there? The answer is no.
  • Physical abuse as titillation — again, the sex must be consensual. No characters harming each other within the sexual framework (no snuff, no stabbing, none of that). In BDSM, it must be made clear that the people involved have consented and are enjoying themselves.
  • Necrophilia — again, must we go there? The answer is still no.
  • Incest — once again, must we go there? The answer is absolutely, unequivocally no.

Other than that, we are an equal opportunity smut peddler.

Please read our Submissions FAQ for more information. Questions? Drop us a line.

Ready to submit your story? Complete the Submit Your Story form. Your story should be in Microsoft Word (.doc) or Rich Text Format (.rtf), size 12 font, double-spaced.

Have fun writing!

Fairy Tale Lust: Erotic Bedtime Stories for Women
Editor: Kristina Wright
Publisher: Cleis Press
Publication Date: Spring 2010
Submission Deadline: August 15
Payment: $50 per story, upon publication

Once upon a time, an editor sent out a call far and wide in search of deliciously naughty adult fairy tales…

In this collection of erotic fairy tales for women, I am seeking reinvented classic tales as well as new fables that blend fantasy and desire. Writers are encouraged to explore the vast realm of fairy tales and reinterpret those that are familiar or lesser known, but are also invited to craft original stories playing on classic archetypes. Diversity and creativity are key! Keep in mind that Cinderella and Snow White have been retold many times over, so it would take a very special touch to make them fresh.

Contemporary settings are preferred, but historical or fantasy settings will be considered. The collection will be primarily heterosexual, though bisexuality and lesbian encounters are also encouraged. I welcome playful, clever stories as well as darker, more intense scenarios. The primary focus of sexual activity should be on female pleasure. Everyone does't have to live "happily ever after" but every story should have a strong plot and a satisfying resolution.

Girl Crush
Editor: R. Gay
Publisher: Cleis Press
Deadline: August 1, 2009
Payment: $50/story and 2 copies of the book upon publication in Spring 2010

Every woman has a girl crush—that intriguing, provocative woman about whom she can't resist fantasizing—the woman who makes her wonder, what if? The forthcoming anthology Girl Crush, will answer that question, through a unique range of erotic short stories about women acting on their girl crushes.

I am looking for literary, well-written, explicit stories about what happens when girl crush fantasies come true. Consider stories about women who might be straight, scratching an itch during a sexy one-time encounter or stories about women who explore new opportunities and perhaps discover that they aren't so straight after all. Guidelines for this collection are very flexible. I want to be surprised. The usual taboos apply—no incest, characters under the age of 18 or bizarre acts involving animals because that’s just not very nice. Think of the puppies.

Minutiae: Stories should be unpublished; query if you have a reprint that you think I absolutely must see. Stories should be 1,500 4,000 words, and submitted as a Word attachment. Please include a cover letter with a brief bio and full contact information (mailing address, phone number, real name/pseudonym) when you submit. Submissions without complete contact information will be deleted unread.

Payment will be $50/story and 2 copies of the book upon publication in Spring 2010. Contributors retain the rights to their stories. You may submit up to three stories per book. Important: Please note that the publisher has final approval over the manuscript.

Send your submission as a Word document to girlcrushbook@gmail.com. Please submit no more than three (3) stories.

If you have any questions about Girl Crush, please query girlcrushbook@gmail.com

Deadline: August 1, 2009

Manuscripts will be accepted on a rolling basis, so writers are encouraged to submit sooner than later.

Email: girlcrushbook@gmail.com

I've extended the deadline for my Fairy Tales anthology in order to get more M/M story submissions. Much to my surprise I've received many more F/F queries and subs, so I'm reaching out to M/M writers now. Please forward this information on to other groups or writers who may be interested. simple counter Full details below and on my website: http://www.emlynley.com/cfs.html

GLBT Fairy Tales Erotic Romance Anthology

 Publisher: Ravenous Romance
Editor: EM Lynley
Payment: Royalties
Email: lynley.editor at gmail.com
Length: 3,500 - 10,000 words
Deadline: June 15, 2009 or until spots filled -- query ASAP if you need an extension
Publication Date: July 2009

The first one will be stories based on traditional fairy tales, but with a GLBT slant. Here's your chance to spice up some favorite childhood tales in a way you've never seen before, but always wanted to tell the story! Feel free to use non-European tales as a base. Here are a couple of great resources for inspiration: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fairy_tales and http://www.surlalunefairytales.com/talesindex.html

Currently accepting only m/m stories as there has been an abundance of f/f queries and subs. CLOSED to f/f subs unless you have previously queried.

All stories must have an erotic element, with a preference for romance over pure erotica. That means there should be a relationship between the characters beyond merely a sexual one. The sex should have emotion and I want to feel that along with the characters. These are fairy tales so there should be HEA or HFN, whichever is more appropriate for your story.

Deadline June 15, 2009. You may submit anytime before then, but I may not have a decision on yours until closer to the deadline. I strongly suggest a query in advance, with a 1-2 paragraph summary of your plotline to avoid having 10 Little Red Riding Hood stories, though perhaps that would be an interesting anthology on its own.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Specifics: 3,500 to 10,000 words. Please be sure your submission is free of typos and errors. Polish your story before sending it, please! No rape, underage, incest or bestiality. If you have other content you feel might be questionable, email me for clarification.

Format: send in RTF or Word (no docx), double spaced with no headers or footers.

Terms $10 per story advance against the royalties on ebook sales (and other non-exclusive subsidiary rights) for a period of three years.  Royalties are a pro rata share of the 35% on ebooks and 15% on audiobooks. If they sell additional subsidiary rights, additional payments will follow! More details of the rights here: http://ravenousromance.blogspot.com/...contracts.html

To submit, please send an attached document to lynley.editor @ gmail.com. Be sure your name & pseudonym, address, email, word count and a short summary of the story appear on the first page of your attached document (not only in your email). Also please include a 150-word bio suitable for publication with the story.

Feel free to email me with any questions:

Diamonds aren’t the only things that are a girl’s best friend. Sometimes battery operated boyfriends, ticklers, and handcuffs rank highly on the list, too. This series of novellas explores items found in a woman’s “toy box.” The only rules: the story has to feature the item prominently (including being used in the story) and it has to be a romance. Other than that, let your fantasies out to play!

Novellas selected for this line must be erotic romances between 15,000 and 25,000 words. These stories can be from any romantic genre so long as they contain the toy prominently in the story. Stories will be sold as stand-alone ebooks and then will be packaged into a print volume. In addition, stories will be sold as “packages” with the toy (in its various incarnations) featured in the book.

Authors will receive the same royalty based on book format, regardless of how it is sold or packaged. Payment will be 35% royalty on sales price for ebooks (except stories sold through third party vendors, which will be 45% of net (sales price - vendor cut = net). Print books will be our standard 10% royalty split between the three or four authors in the volume.

If authors are interested in the specifics on what types of products may be offered, they can email the address listed below. However because of the wide variety of certain types of adult toys, the items used in the story don’t need to exactly match the ones offered for sale in the kits.

All regular Pink Petal Books guidelines apply including what content is not suitable for our audiences and the romance requirement. Please read our regular submission guidelines for more information.

How to submit: Please email your complete manuscript attached in RTF/Word format to meditor@pinkpetalbooks.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Include in the body of the email a word count and brief blurb (one or two paragraphs) along with any relevant publishing history. If you could also include a marketing plan (use our form please) that would be much appreciated.

The Playtime line replaces our Tales from the Toybox anthologies. Stories will be released as they are received, and when we have three or four with similiar toys and/or themes, then they will be packaged into print books.

An example of toys to include in the stories can be vibrators, edibles, paddles and crops, dildos, ticklers, or other intimate gear. To get a feel for the range of items we would like to explore, you may visit (http://www.sensualmagick.com/mary) the Sensual Magick store.

Fantasies.
We all have them. Lusty, wild, sultry, sweet, elaborate or simple. Inside our heads, they're vivid, unbridled, perfect. Loose Id's looking for books that unleash your fantasies. Whether it's new twists on old tropes - secret babies, lonesome cowboys, sexy sheikhs, amnesia, runaway brides, or erotic escapades - capture fantasies, menage, sexual slavery, restraint and delayed gratification. Whatever you dare to dream, as long as it's larger than life, realer than real.

Right now, Loose Id is looking for a few very special stories for each of the following promotions:

Who's the Boss of You?
October 16th is Boss's Day. One day to celebrate that amazing, elegant, outrageous, irritating, domineering, however you describe the maddening creature called "the Boss." At Loose Id, we want your best and sexiest stories about the Boss. Whether it's comeuppance or just plain coming, we want to see you give the bosses of the world what they deserve. We're accepting a limited number of stories for the October 16th promotion, but good boss stories are always welcome. To be considered for the promotion, submit completed stories of 20,000+ words, before June 1.

Summer Getaways
Since the only vacation some people can afford this summer will happen between the pages of a book, we're looking to publish some fantastic summer getaway stories before Labor Day. These can be anything, any subgenre, but we're especially looking for solid and sexy contemporaries that focus on the escape. But whether that escape is winning the lottery or meeting the boy next door, that's up to you. To be considered for this promotion, submit completed stories of 20,000+ words, before July 15, but earlier submissions are welcome as we'd like to stagger them throughout the summer.

Hot Hooks

And, if you're a contest junkie, or hoping to realize your fantasy of becoming a published author, Loose Id has something for you, too. In July, we'll be running a "Hot Hooks" contest, where stories will be judged on their hook, premise, first page and synopsis. All subgenres of erotic romance will be accepted, but the focus will be on finding sensational saleable stories. So start thinking about the hottest hooks you can imagine and write exceptional stories around them. Even if you don't want to enter the contest, that's good advice. Keep your eyes open for more information about our Hot Hooks contest, coming soon to a Loose Id website near you.

We look forward to seeing your submissions and helping you help our readers unleash your fantasies this summer at Loose Id.

Samhain Sci-fi novella anthology
Deadline: Aug 31, 09

Get your outer space on! Intergalactic wars, space battles, alien cultures, and love (and lust) across the cosmos.

I'm very pleased to announce an open call for submissions for a new, yet-to-be titled spring 2010 space opera anthology. I'm looking for fast-paced, action-adventure space opera romances. Don't know what space opera is? Think Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica or my personal favorite, Firefly/Serenity. For more information on space opera, you can check out the entry on wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Opera

I'm open to M/F, M/M, or multiples thereof, and any sexual heat level. The only rule is the story should be set mainly or entirely in space and the romance must end happily ever after or happy for now.

The anthology will include novellas from 25,000 to 30,000 words in length and will be released individually as ebooks in April 2010.

Submissions are open to all authors, published with Samhain or aspiring to be published with Samhain. All submissions must be new material—previously published submissions will not be considered. Additionally, manuscripts previously submitted, whether individually or for past anthologies, will not be considered either. Please be aware that manuscripts submitted to this anthology cannot be resubmitted at a later date unless by invitation from an editor.

To submit a manuscript for consideration, please include:

The full manuscript (of 25,000 to 30,000 words) with a comprehensive 2-5 page synopsis. Please include a letter of introduction/query letter. Full manuscripts are required for this as it's a special project.

As well, when you send your manuscript, please be sure to use the naming convention SpaceOpera_Title_MS and SpaceOpera_Title_Synopsis. This will ensure that your submission doesn't get missed in the many submissions we receive, and makes it easy for me to find in my ebook reader.

Submissions are open until August 10, 2009 and final decision will be made by August 31, 2009. Please send your submission to editor[at]samhainpublishing.com and include Space Opera Anthology in the subject line.

Questions can be addressed to Sasha Knight sasha[at]samhainpublishing.com

From [info]emlynley

Ravenous Romance has discovered how many readers are interested in quality GLBT romance, and have asked me to put together two anthologies for their Panamour section (same-sex romance) and I'm really excited about the opportunity.

The first one will be stories based on traditional fairy tales, but with a GLBT slant. All stories must have an erotic element, with an emphasis on romance over pure erotica.

Deadline May 31, 2009. You may submit anytime before then, but I may not have a decision on yours until closer to the deadline. I strongly suggest a query in advance (including a paragraph or two about your storyline) to avoid having 10 Little Red Riding Hood stories, though perhaps that could be an interesting anthology on its own.

Terms are Ravenous Romance's standard terms, which are now $10 per story advance against the royalties on ebook sales (and other non-exclusive subsidiary rights) for a period of three years. Royalties are a pro rata share of the 35% on ebooks and 15% on audiobooks. If they sell additional subsidiary rights, additional payments will follow! More details of the rights here: http://ravenousromance.blogspot.com/2008/10/our-short-story-rights-and-contracts.html

To submit, please send an attached document to my gmail address: lynley.editor. Be sure Your Name & Pseudonym, Address, and Email and word count and a short summary of the story appear on the first page of your attached document (not only in your email). Also please include a 150-word bio suitable for publication with the story.

Accentuate Writers and Accentuate Services (the editors), in conjunction with Twin Trinity Media Company (the publisher), are seeking open submissions for the 2009 Accentuate Writers Erotic Anthology from you (the writers!).

This is NOT a contest, but open submissions of erotic short stories.

There is no reading fee. There is no cost to submit. There is no cost for being published. In fact, you are not required to pay for anything. You are not even required to purchase anything to be considered for publication. All authors selected for publication will receive a royalty contract as well as a small upfront payment (between $15-250 upfront), to be made as an 'offer for advance'. Each author will receive a percentage of royalty for each book sold (as a standard royalty paying author's contract), based on their percentage of contributing to the anthology (determined by final word counts).

All selected authors will receive two free copies of the anthology in which their story appears, as well as being able to purchase books at a 50% discount off retail sale price, as the special author's pricing. No purchase is required, ever.

If interested in submitting, please keep the following in mind:

Accentuate is not looking for pornography, neither are we looking for romance writing. What we seek is something somewhere in the middle: romance with a heat level that sizzles, while still telling a great story!

What we want: (cut to publisher's site)

Wrap Me Up - Erotic Holiday Tales
Edited by Eric Summers
Deadline: May 15, 2009
STARbooks Press is going to release its first Winter Holiday-inspired anthology, and you can be a part of it!
Do you like to sit on Santa's lap? Are there eight things you wish you could do to your boyfriend during Hanukah? Does Kwanzaa give you the urge to commune with nature? Or, do you just like to write about people who get horny over the holidays?

There is no limit to the possibilities. Your stories can take place at the North Pole, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, or the Continent of Africa, just to name a few locales. Your characters may be Maccabees, Wise Men, Tribal Elders, Romans, Greeks, or Elves, just to give you a few ideas. Let your imagination roll and think outside the gift-wrapped box, and give us your hottest holiday story. Have fun and give our readers the gift that keeps on giving, so they come back for more.

I am seeking well-written stories that are erotic, not just pornographic. There are no limits to the possibilities or scenarios. All we ask is that writers be creative, have fun, and offer our readers something fresh and new. And, humor is always greatly appreciated! I want well-developed characters and plots, believable and accurate situations (even if it is fantasy or science fiction, it must make sense), and settings, along with internal consistency. All characters must be over 18 years of age.
Feel free to query me about the thinking you may have about a story for this anthology at eric@starbookspress.com.
thanks,
Eric Summers

Submit your query to eric@starbookspress.com in the body of an email - no attachments please. Include a short bio, your name, postal and email addresses and a five-paragraph excerpt of your story. Indicate whether or not your submission has been previously published and, if so, where and when. You don't need to sell your story in the letter; your work will speak for itself. If your query is accepted, I will be in contact with you about submitting the complete work. The end product should be no more than eight pages of single spaced 12 pt. type. Occasionally, novellas are accepted, but they must be exceptional. Be sure to edit and proof your query.
Sloppy or poorly written stories will not be considered, replied to, or acknowledged!!!

10 April 2009 @ 10:43 am

We are open for submissions in "forbidden" romance genres, particularly ménage, BDSM, homoerotic and capture/abduction stories from authors who are passionate about erotic romance. Sex scenes must sizzle, be explicit, use adult language and leaving nothing to the imagination. Books can be set in contemporary, historical, paranormal/fantasy worlds, etc. All books MUST possess a strong, romance-oriented plot and have a happily-ever-after or happy-for-now ending. We are NOT interested in books that are strictly sexfests. Our goal is to cultivate authors with vivid, passionate voices and the ability to deliver well-crafted characters and relationships. We're most interested in books of 40,000 to 60,000 words, but will consider works as short as 20,000 and as long as 80,000. Nothing under 20,000 words will be considered at this time.
Submission Guidelines

Send submissions to submissions@forbiddenpassionpress.com and attach:

    * A detailed synopsis (2 to 5 pages describing setting and main characters and outlining full plot, including resolution).
    * Your complete manuscript (doc or rtf format).
    * The subject line of the email should say SUBMISSION: your name and the title of your book.

We are an electronic publisher, so we accept only electronic submissions. Please do not attempt to send us printed submissions via snail mail. They will not be considered.

Call for Papers/Writers: Queer Magic Anthology…(title to be determined…)

E-mail for inquiries and submissions: aediculaantinoi (at) hotmail (dot) com; please put “Queer Magic Anthology” in your subject line.

Megalithica Books, an imprint of Immanion Press (Stafford, U.K./Portland, OR, U.S.A.) is seeking submissions for an anthology on queer magic and/or ritual.

For the purposes of this publication, “queer” is primarily defined as anything of a non-majority sexual orientation (e.g. gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, etc.), or atypical gender identity (e.g. transsexual, transgendered, intersexed, genderqueer, metagender, etc.). Other things may be part of the widest understanding of “queerness,” including relationship styles (e.g. polyamory, etc.) or sexual practices (e.g. BDSM, fetishes, kink, etc.), and indeed magic, occultism, and paganism themselves (since they are “non-normative,” which is an agreed-upon definition of “queer” within many academic circles), but the focus of this volume will be on queerness particularly as it applies to gender and sexual orientation.

This is not an anthology that is intended to be about “personal stories of the intersection of magical/occult/pagan/spiritual identity and queerness,” but instead about queer perspectives on magical, occult, and esoteric topics especially, but also possibly the impact of queerness on pagan or spiritual topics (e.g. theology). Further, where and when these topics of paganism and/or spiritual identity and affiliation might be addressed, this is not an anthology about “coming out spirituality” (e.g. the idea that it is okay to be LGBTQ and pagan/Thelemic/Santero/Hellenic/whatever/&c.; “coming out” as ritual/initiation, etc.), nor should essays primarily be about how queerness of whatever sort gives one a better perspective or understanding on energy polarity or gender wholeness within any of these magical/occult/pagan paradigms (e.g. the idea that gay men are more naturally gifted, magical, or shamanically-inclined because they are more in touch with their femininity, etc.). The latter has been done to death already; the former is an important first step in these matters, but as with all Megalithica publications, the intention with this anthology is to go beyond introductory matters whenever possible.

The Mondo Homo Art Show is upon us again, and this is the OFFICIAL call for work. The title of this year's show is MONDO-POLITICO. We are trying something different this year and asking people to create a work for the show and it's theme. So, please put your best ART FAG foot forward and let's make it really shine this year. The show is about what it means being queer and political, which is broad and open to many interpretations but can also spawn some great work. Wilde Oats celebrates gay and bisexual fiction.
It embraces the joys and agonies of life for gay and bisexual men,
from hard gritty realism to wild flights of romantic fantasy.

http://www.wildeoats.com/ComingIssues

August: Pic4Fic

What is the hidden story behind this illustration?(See above link)  In Pic4Fic one of the Wilde Oats artists will provide a thought provoking and teasing image to stir the imagination of writers.  We challenge writers to send us a story using this illustration, by Wilde Oats artist Gormax, as a prompt, for the next (August) issue.  We will print all accepted stories -- the more, the better.

December: Gays and Marriage

Wilde Oats plans to feature a themed issue every December. As our first theme we have chosen marriage. Not just gay marriage, but any story about how gay men are affected by the institution of marriage – gays happy or unhappy in their heterosexual marriages, gays under pressure to marry, married couples with gay children or in-laws, etc. The field is wide open so start thinking about your story submission now. The deadline for submissions will be early October. While stories and articles about marriage will be given priority, we welcome submissions on other subjects as well. However, if you write about something else we will wait until the deadline before making our final selection, publish those we have room for in the order we received them, and hold the others we accept in reserve for our April issue.

A CUP OF COMFORT FOR COUPLES
Stories that celebrate what it means to love

http://www.cupofcomfort.com/CallForSubmissions/

It is said that love works in mysterious ways. And this anthology will reveal the many mysteries as well as the inner workings of true love. Of course, being a "happy couple" involves more than being in love, and making a romantic relationship work takes more than romance. So this book will feature uplifting true stories with a balanced mix of tones--romantic, poignant, humorous--and on a wide range of topics: From falling in love to the secrets of lasting love. From celebrating special moments between you to overcoming bumps in your relationship. From experiences that brought you closer together to experiences that threatened to tear you apart. From endearing rituals to challenging changes. From sparkling new love to glorious golden love. Or any other topic that speaks to the joys, the challenges, and/or the nature of a romantic partnership that works for you. Narrative essays preferred. Story Length: 1,000-2,000 words. Deadline: October 1, 2009.

A one-time payment of $500 is paid to the Author of the lead story in each book (the "grand prize" winner). A one-time payment of $100 is paid for each of the other stories published in the book. Each contributor receives one complimentary copy of the book per story

LIFEBYTES BOOKS

Deadline for submissions is September 1, 2009

Greetings, all–

My colleague, R. G. Emanuelle, and I are editing an anthology of short stories whose focus is women pirates. Here's the official call:

Call for Submissions

Skulls and Crossbones

A collection of short stories that features women pirates in any setting, any time period.

Editors: Andi Marquette and R. G. Emanuelle.
Publisher: Mindancer Press (Bedazzled Ink), print and ebook editions

Stipulations:
No longer than 7000 words; no shorter than 4000 words
Will consider original and previously published stories.
$35 per story, paid after contract is signed. Story rights revert back to authors 18 months after date of publication. Each contributor will receive one print copy as well as one ebook copy of the anthology.

GLBTQ/heterosexual characters are welcome BUT EACH STORY MUST FEATURE A WOMAN PIRATE, either as the main character or the focus of the story (e.g. another sailor on the ship who hates the woman pirate and through his/her eyes, we observe the woman pirate). Again, the main character or the focus of the story MUST BE A WOMAN PIRATE. We will consider main characters that identify as transgendered (male to female), but that identity must figure prominently in the story as a driving force and/or something that speaks to the character's experience as a woman pirate.

Extra caveat: The focus of the story cannot be a romantic hook-up/sex/ erotica. Sex, eroticism, and romance may be part of the story (as=2
0long as they fit within the story's overall plot), but they cannot be the reason for the story or the driving force of the story. We want stories that feature adventure, intrigue, antiheroines/ heroines, battles (epic, personal, or small-scale) , something to be accomplished/ overcome, vengeance, trickery, thievery, and/or assorted banditry and outlaw behavior.

Absolutely NO stories that feature acts of pedophilia, incest, bestiality, or rape.

Deadline for submissions is September 1, 2009
Final selections will be made by October 1, 2009, with publication tentatively slated for January 2010

To submit your story, send as an email attachment in RTF format, double-spaced to pirateanthology AT gmail DOT com. Please include your name, pen name (if applicable), mailing address, email address, story title, and word count on the first page of your submission.

You can also go to Mindancer Press (Bedazzled Ink) to see the official call. Click here.

If you have questions, drop us a line at pirateanthology AT gmail DOT com.

None on Record: Stories of Queer Africa
Edited by: Notisha Massaquoi & Selly Thiam

WE are collecting stories of Africans from the continent and within the diasporic communities that identify as queer, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered (QLGBT).

One of our biggest challenges as QLGBT Africans globally is forced invisibility. Human rights violations in many countries on the African continent are at an all time high for QLGBT Africans who speak out publicly.

In order to identify ourselves rather than be defined by others we must first see ourselves, create discourse and story. And only we can write it. We must no longer cooperate in the maintenance of our own invisibility. Our voices must be heard. We do exist.

It is the goal of None on Record to link the struggles, triumphs, joy and pain of QLGBT Africans everywhere. We aim to add to the exponential growth of histories and stories being told by queer Africans all over the world.

We invite QLGBT Africans to submit original, unpublished essays, poems, short stories, plays, creative non-fiction, and visual art. We’re looking for work that explores the lives of QLGBT Africans and how your experiences have shaped you emotionally, politically, socially, and culturally. We are interested in the ideas and language that make you African and QLGBT.

We accept work from QLGBT Africans from the continent and those who have immigrated to other parts of the world. We also accept submissions from first generation QLGBT Africans born outside the African Continent. If you self-identify as a QLGBT African but do not fit the criteria written above and would like to submit work for consideration, please write us at: NORsubmission@gmail.com

Best S/M Erotica 3:
Still More Extreme Stories of Still More Extreme Sex

A book of straight, lesbian and gay S/M stories to be published by Logical-Lust (www.logical-lust.com ).

For this edition of the series writers are encouraged to experiment with the basic idea of what S/M erotica play is -- and could be -- as well as how our modern world has changed the possibilities and potentials of S/M. Examples could be stories that challenge established ideas of dominance and submission, that play with it’s practice with new technology, that challenge gender roles, or that push limits of play space versus the real world. While this is not a science fiction anthology stories that project the impact of current technology and social changes would be acceptable.

Stories should be focused on the dominance and submission side of S/M play, though stories that also include sadism and masochism will be considered if they fit the anthology criteria. While I respect the wide variety of S/M experiences, keep in mind that nonconsensual sex (i.e. rape) stories are not what this project is about.

Best Sex Writing 2010
Publisher: Cleis Press
Editor: Rachel Kramer Bussel (selections by Esther Perel)
Publication date: December 2009
Deadline for submissions: May 1, 2009

Editor Rachel Kramer Bussel is looking for personal essays and reportage for inclusion in the 2010 edition of the Cleis Press series Best Sex Writing, which will hit stores in December 2009. Seeking articles from across the sexual spectrum, covering (in no particular order) alternative sexuality, reproductive rights and sexuality, sex education, sex and technology, sex work, sex and ageing, sex and parenting, sex and religion, sex and race, sex and class, sex and disability, BDSM, polyamory, transgender issues, gender roles, etc. These topics are just starting points; any writings covering the topic of sex will be considered. Personal essays will also be considered. I like work that looks at sex in new and unusual ways (see Stacey D'Erasmo's "Silver-Balling" in Best Sex Writing 2009 for a prime example), that challenges us to think about sex and our own sexuality, is thought-provoking and possibly disturbing. I want sex journalism that's found in the most unexpected places and is as topical as possible. No fiction or poetry will be considered.

Unmasked II: More Erotic Tales of Gay Superheroes

Edited by Eric Summers
Deadline: March 15, 2009

The response to "Unmasked: Erotic Tales of Gay Superheroes" was so positive that we have decided to publish a sequel.

What made the first "Unmasked" so well received was the originality of the characters and the great amount of humor, making it erotic and fun! If you contributed to "Unmasked," please consider a sequel to your story.

For those who wish to contribute for the first time, we are looking for superheroes that are original and not cliché, and a sexy sidekick is always welcome! Your superhero should have both an extraordinary talent and not so obvious weakness. All we ask is that your superheroes are hot and their actions hotter. And of course, we want them to be fun.

Boys Getting Ahead

Edited by Mickey Erlach
Deadline October 15 2009

Everyone has heard of the casting couch, but did you know it stretches far beyond Hollywood? Many a stud has used his “talents” to get ahead, whether in an office, a loading dock, a store, or especially in politics. After all, to get ahead in life, you sometimes have to take it like a man, or give as good as you get.

BOYS GETTING AHEAD is about those ambitious young men, who will do what it takes as often as necessary to grab the brass ring or at least wear it. There are no limits to what some of these guys will do. If the boss wants it rough, that’s cool. If the boss wants romance, that’s perfectly acceptable. And, if the boss wants to throw you to the curb and treat you like a whore, that’s the chance you take. Who said having a successful life was going to be easy?

Deadline: November 15, 2009

There you are in the locker room after a hard practice, watching your teammates strip and head to the open shower room, and suddenly the practice isn’t the only thing that is hard. Or, during wrestling practice, you are paired up with the best built, most handsome guy on the team, whose singlet is stretched beyond its limits everywhere possible. You are the quarterback and the new center has the hottest butt you’ve ever seen, and now he is bent over in front of you with your hands against his crotch, ready to hike the ball. What do you do? What have you done? What do you regret not doing?

Like A Mask Removed
Deadline
April 1, 2009

Circlet Press is looking for original erotic stories of superheroes and villains to be published in its upcoming e-book, Like A Mask Removed. The reading period begins March 1, 2009 and ends April 1, 2009. All stories for ebook publication will conform to the same standards of quality and sensuality as in all Circlet’s print books. Ebook only publications pay $25 per story, with an additional $25 for any book that goes into print.

We're holding out for some heroes (or perhaps their dastardly villainous counterparts) in Circlet's latest ebook anthology: Like A Mask Removed. Whether clad in spandex, leather, or body armor these masked crusaders regularly save the world from injustice with their chiseled bodies, cutting edge gadgets, and fantastical super powers. Many of our heroes must struggle to keep their double lives secret from mortal enemies and loved ones alike, as they defend their cities populated by cynical and distrustful masses (or perhaps over-eager and adoring fans) from evil geniuses and corporations hell bent on world domination. But for all their noble intentions, awe-inspiring abilities, and flawless physiques, our heroes are ultimately people who enjoy erotic intimacy and sexual gratification-- albeit on a more super level.

Electronic submissions only. Please send to bzaiatz@gmail.com

MARKET: Like a Sacred Desire

Like a Sacred Desire
Deadline: 1st April 2009

We are seeking stories that think outside the box of physical gratification as a means of manifestation. Think words of power, abstinence as a means of building up energy, invoking Gods and Goddesses often thought of as dark such as Baphomet, Kali or Lilith.

Themes can include destruction and rebirth, healing the self, binding of a slave to a Master, pasts remembered and futures conceived. Surprise us. Turn us on and intoxicate us.

Electronic submissions only. Please send to jwsubs13 at gmail dot com.

Circlet Press is an independent publisher dedicated to celebrating the erotic imagination. We began life in 1992 to provide a market for science fiction and fantasy stories that were “unpublishable” elsewhere merely for their heavy erotic content. We believe that the erotic imagination should thrive in science fiction and fantasy; the literature of the wildest flights of imagination should not be devoid of this universal portion of human fantasy. Since that time we have published over forty print titles in that vein. Most of the books we have done have been anthologies of short stories built around various themes (vampires, high tech) or sexualities (gay men’s erotic sf, transgender stories, fetish/SM), with the occasional novel or single-author collection thrown in. PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT ACCEPT UNSOLICITED NOVELS OR NOVEL QUERIES.

We accept submissions during our open reading periods only. Manuscripts submitted at other times will be discarded (or returned with SASE) unless they were specifically solicited! Typical story length we enjoy is 4,000 to 7,000 words, and these lengths tend to get the most positive response. Anything from 1500 to 15,000 is possible, but if you are going to go over 8,000 words, your story had better really justify it. Pace your story like a short story, not like a novel, begin “in medias res” and you will have better success. Anything above 15,000, is usually too long for our taste.

Short story submissions must have both the following requisite components:

We’re making a sequel to Like a Wisp of Steam, Circlet’s landmark steampunk erotica anthology. We liked what we received for that collection so much, we want to see more! Here’s your chance to explore the world of corsets and goggles, airships and weird science, all with a sexy twist.

October marks GLBT History month (to commemorate the first gay and lesbian marches on Washington in October 1979 and 1987 respectively). During the month of October, as part of our Pink Petal Books Presents series, we would like to release a series of anthologies commemorating stories of GLBT romance. While the heat levels should be very sensual to erotic, stories can be any romance sub-genre (historical encouraged).

Our goal for this anthology project will be to fill four volumes. This means we will need three to four excellently written novellas, representing the best in gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender erotic romance. No previously published work please (though we will look at those stories for our regular release schedule).

Submission Deadline: May 15, decisions by June 1

Electronic Publication: October 2009 (for GLBT History Month), print February 2010

How to submit: Please email your complete manuscript attached in RTF/Word format to meditor@pinkpetalbooks.comThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Include in the body of the email a word count and brief blurb (one or two paragraphs), along with any relevant publishing history. For more information about us, please read our complete submission guidelines.

A bit about us:

At Pink Petal Books we believe that love is a beautiful thing. Our “Pink Petal Books Presents” anthology series offers readers a glimpse of the many themes and genres that can be found within romance. Each themed anthology contains three to four 15,000-25,000 word novellas released first as individual ebooks, then published together into one print volume. Heat levels in each story need to start at very sensual and work up to erotic. Language may range from the occasional frank or graphic language to no holds barred.

Payment will be 35% royalty on sales price for ebooks (except stories sold through third party vendors, which will be 45% of net (sales price - vendor cut = net). Print books will be our standard 10% royalty split between the three or four authors in the volume.

Making The Hook-up: Edgy Sex With Soul
Edited by Cole Riley (Robert Fleming)
To be published by Cleis Press
Deadline: May 1, 2009
Payment: $50 and 2 copies of the anthology

Robert Fleming is looking for edgy, stereotype-busting erotic stories with sizzle and soul

No baby daddies. No tireless studs with anacondas between their legs. No hotties or chickenheads with "motor-driven coozes."  In this post-Bush era, change is the buzzword. These stories about people of color should feature fully realized plots and strong characters. The stories can be about lust or love but with a bit of edge and provocation. They can use anything that will expand the sexual envelope beyond the usual, but within reason. Nothing gross. Let your imagination do the trick. Offer us something different, something uncommon.

Stories are due May 2009. Word count between 3,000-8,000 words. This anthology is primarily heterosexual, but I'll consider GLBT stories. No underage tales. Double spaced: 12 pt. New Roman or Courier New. Indent the first line of each paragraph one-half inch and do not include extra lines between paragraphs.

Please send a synopsis, author bio, and your story to writerrf@aol.com. Original stories only. You must own all rights to any reprints. And remember you don't have to be Black to write about love and lust, sex, or race for this collection. Surprise us!

Publication Date: April 13, 2009

Lovers who are polar opposites. Perhaps one is a slob around the house, and his partner is a neat-freak. Maybe they have opposite zodiac signs, and according to horoscopes should never be able to make their relationship work. A weretiger and a werewolf? We've all heard how cats and dogs don't get along. The rocket scientist and the dockworker, the quiet type and the chatterbox, the conservative and the flamboyant. The Wall Street stockbroker and the Southern California surfer. The cop and the ex-con.

Like Magnets, We Attract is a male/male short story anthology full of hot men who appear to be complete mismatches for their partners. Let your imagination run wild. As long as your guys are complete opposites in some way, we would love to read about them!

All stories must feature a male/male couple and be scorching hot, with well-developed, original characters and engaging plots. Stories will range from 3,000 ‐ 7,000 words and should have a solid conclusion. Erotica and erotic romance are welcomed. Sex must take place "on-screen" and be explicit.

Writing Queer Kenya is an anthology of stories by Kenyan LGBTI to be published in December 2009. The book will be edited by: Keguro Macharia and Angus Parkinson

We lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex individuals, in a word, queers, have had the distinct un-pleasure of being told we don’t exist—in official government statements, historical documents, and contemporary statements. Well, we do.

We want Kenyan stories by Kenya-based and Kenya-born queers. About everything. We want writing about the dailyness of our lives, the good, the bad, the weird, the indifferent. If you have lived it, we want to hear about it. We especially want to reach beyond Nairobi, Mombasa, and other cities to all corners of the country. And we know the rest of Kenya, Africa, and the world wants to hear these stories as well.

Formats

We have three distinct formats. Choose what appeals to you.

1. Interviews: Tell us your story. Get in touch with us and we’ll arrange an interview. We value your time and your confidentiality. Not sure you want to meet us directly? We have phones and email and all manner of ways to make this happen.

2. Letters to Kenya: Write (or unearth) a 500-1,000-word letter. To whom? Parents, pastors, the government, best friends, former friends, present lovers, former lovers, the person you really want to tune. Get personal, get intimate. Say what you really want to say!

3. Personal narratives: Write (or unearth) a 2,500-3,000-word narrative about the dailyness of being queer. The high points, low points, the endless plateaus, the quick glances, indrawn breaths of desire, domestic thrills, sexual boredom, beginnings and endings. If you write it, we’ll consider it.

All submissions should be typed, double-spaced, and submitted electronically to queerkenya@gmail.com. If you can’t type, don’t want to, or can’t get hold of an email program that functions, get in touch with us. We can help.

How You Can Contribute

1. Get the word out. Convince your friends with hidden manuscripts or stories that must be shared to un-closet them.
2. Send us encouraging emails. We need your good wishes, your fabulously good wishes.
3. Volunteer time! We need all the help we can get.
4. Take ownership. We’re editing, sure, but these are our collective stories.
