Edited by: Leigh Ellwood
Projected release date: late 2010
Format: eBook (with possible print release)
Publisher: Phaze Books
Payment: $50 for one-time electronic and print rights, plus copies

Hey, all you steampunk enthusiasts, grab your goggles and get to writing! Phaze Books is planning an M/M (and bi-M menage) steampunk collection for eBook publication in 2010. If you have a yen for 19th century history with a touch of good humor and technological innovation (and a whole lot of manlove!), we hope you’ll send us your hottest steampunk erotic romance of 10K - 20K words. If you’re not sure about the genre, check out this Wikipedia entry for steampunk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steampunk) to get an idea of the style of stories we’re looking for. Think H.G. Wells or Wild Wild West, then turn up the steam factor with an incredible M/M or MMF/MMM match-up!

This call is open indefinitely until the spots are filled. Contributors will offer one-time electronic and print rights to their works and receive a one-time payment of $50 and contributors copies (eBook and/or print, if the book goes to print).

To submit to this anthology, please follow the Phaze Books structural guidelines at http://www.phaze.com/submissions.html and attach your RTF submission to Leigh Ellwood, c/o Phaze Books at submissions @ phaze (dot) com. Please use STEAMPUNK ANTHOLOGY is your subject header.

Launched in November, 2004, Phaze Books has offered a wide selection of erotic romance and women’s erotica in eBook and print formats. We are proud to have a number of best-selling and rising stars of romance in our catalog, as well as a Romantic Times Top Pick, an EPPIE winner, and several EPPIE nominees. Call for Submissions:

By August 25, 2009 - M/M Cowboy Christmas story. Must be hot, erotic, but heartwarming. 6K-10K in length. A holiday anthology for Pink Petal Books. Can be contemporary, historical, or paranormal. Questions, submissions, cat calls to… Lex at lexvalentine dot com.

New Line: In the Saddle
Horses have had a long history in our country from the first settlers to professional athletes today. Give us stories about equestrians of all types. We’re looking for romances of all heat levels (from sweet to erotic romances), and all sub-genres from paranormal horse shifters to contemporaries, and westerns. Give us things we haven’t seen before (maybe a story involving a mounted police officer), and show us all sizes, styles, and orientations of love.

Our regular submission guidelines apply, with story lengths beginning at 25K and going up to 100K. We pay ebook royalty rate of 35% on sales directly from us, and we pay 40% of money received from third-party vendors. We believe in putting our books out through other vendors like Kindle or All Romance eBooks, and all books which meet modest sales goals and our length requirement of 50K will go into print.

How to submit: Please submit a cover letter, attach the first three chapters of your manuscript, and include a synopsis in RTF/Word format to meditor@pinkpetalbooks.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Include in your cover letter a word count and brief blurb (one or two paragraphs) along with any relevant publishing history. If you could also include a marketing plan (use our form from our regular submission guidelines please) that would be much appreciated.

New Line: Playtime
Diamonds aren’t the only things that are a girl’s best friend. Sometimes battery operated boyfriends, ticklers, and handcuffs rank highly on the list, too. This series of novellas explores items found in a woman’s “toy box.” The only rules: the story has to feature the item prominently (including being used in the story) and it has to be a romance. Other than that, let your fantasies out to play!

Novellas selected for this line must be erotic romances between 15,000 and 25,000 words. These stories can be from any romantic genre so long as they contain the toy prominently in the story. Stories will be sold as stand-alone ebooks and then will be packaged into a print volume. In addition, stories will be sold as “packages” with the toy (in its various incarnations) featured in the book.

Authors will receive the same royalty based on book format, regardless of how it is sold or packaged. Payment will be 35% royalty on sales price for ebooks (except stories sold through third party vendors, which will be 45% of net (sales price - vendor cut = net). Print books will be our standard 10% royalty split between the three or four authors in the volume.

If authors are interested in the specifics on what types of products may be offered, they can email the address listed below. However because of the wide variety of certain types of adult toys, the items used in the story don’t need to exactly match the ones offered for sale in the kits.

All regular Pink Petal Books guidelines apply including what content is not suitable for our audiences and the romance requirement. Please read our regular submission guidelines for more information.

How to submit: Please email your complete manuscript attached in RTF/Word format to meditor@pinkpetalbooks.com This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Include in the body of the email a word count and brief blurb (one or two paragraphs) along with any relevant publishing history. If you could also include a marketing plan (use our form please) that would be much appreciated.

The Playtime line replaces our Tales from the Toybox anthologies. Stories will be released as they are received, and when we have three or four with similiar toys and/or themes, then they will be packaged into print books.

An example of toys to include in the stories can be vibrators, edibles, paddles and crops, dildos, ticklers, or other intimate gear. To get a feel for the range of items we would like to explore, you may visit (http://www.sensualmagick.com/mary) the Sensual Magick store.

Fantasies.
We all have them. Lusty, wild, sultry, sweet, elaborate or simple. Inside our heads, they're vivid, unbridled, perfect. Loose Id's looking for books that unleash your fantasies. Whether it's new twists on old tropes - secret babies, lonesome cowboys, sexy sheikhs, amnesia, runaway brides, or erotic escapades - capture fantasies, menage, sexual slavery, restraint and delayed gratification. Whatever you dare to dream, as long as it's larger than life, realer than real.

Right now, Loose Id is looking for a few very special stories for each of the following promotions:

Who's the Boss of You?
October 16th is Boss's Day. One day to celebrate that amazing, elegant, outrageous, irritating, domineering, however you describe the maddening creature called "the Boss." At Loose Id, we want your best and sexiest stories about the Boss. Whether it's comeuppance or just plain coming, we want to see you give the bosses of the world what they deserve. We're accepting a limited number of stories for the October 16th promotion, but good boss stories are always welcome. To be considered for the promotion, submit completed stories of 20,000+ words, before June 1.

Summer Getaways
Since the only vacation some people can afford this summer will happen between the pages of a book, we're looking to publish some fantastic summer getaway stories before Labor Day. These can be anything, any subgenre, but we're especially looking for solid and sexy contemporaries that focus on the escape. But whether that escape is winning the lottery or meeting the boy next door, that's up to you. To be considered for this promotion, submit completed stories of 20,000+ words, before July 15, but earlier submissions are welcome as we'd like to stagger them throughout the summer.

Hot Hooks

And, if you're a contest junkie, or hoping to realize your fantasy of becoming a published author, Loose Id has something for you, too. In July, we'll be running a "Hot Hooks" contest, where stories will be judged on their hook, premise, first page and synopsis. All subgenres of erotic romance will be accepted, but the focus will be on finding sensational saleable stories. So start thinking about the hottest hooks you can imagine and write exceptional stories around them. Even if you don't want to enter the contest, that's good advice. Keep your eyes open for more information about our Hot Hooks contest, coming soon to a Loose Id website near you.

We look forward to seeing your submissions and helping you help our readers unleash your fantasies this summer at Loose Id.

Samhain Sci-fi novella anthology
Deadline: Aug 31, 09

Get your outer space on! Intergalactic wars, space battles, alien cultures, and love (and lust) across the cosmos.

I'm very pleased to announce an open call for submissions for a new, yet-to-be titled spring 2010 space opera anthology. I'm looking for fast-paced, action-adventure space opera romances. Don't know what space opera is? Think Star Wars, Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica or my personal favorite, Firefly/Serenity. For more information on space opera, you can check out the entry on wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Space_Opera

I'm open to M/F, M/M, or multiples thereof, and any sexual heat level. The only rule is the story should be set mainly or entirely in space and the romance must end happily ever after or happy for now.

The anthology will include novellas from 25,000 to 30,000 words in length and will be released individually as ebooks in April 2010.

Submissions are open to all authors, published with Samhain or aspiring to be published with Samhain. All submissions must be new material—previously published submissions will not be considered. Additionally, manuscripts previously submitted, whether individually or for past anthologies, will not be considered either. Please be aware that manuscripts submitted to this anthology cannot be resubmitted at a later date unless by invitation from an editor.

To submit a manuscript for consideration, please include:

The full manuscript (of 25,000 to 30,000 words) with a comprehensive 2-5 page synopsis. Please include a letter of introduction/query letter. Full manuscripts are required for this as it's a special project.

As well, when you send your manuscript, please be sure to use the naming convention SpaceOpera_Title_MS and SpaceOpera_Title_Synopsis. This will ensure that your submission doesn't get missed in the many submissions we receive, and makes it easy for me to find in my ebook reader.

Submissions are open until August 10, 2009 and final decision will be made by August 31, 2009. Please send your submission to editor[at]samhainpublishing.com and include Space Opera Anthology in the subject line.

Questions can be addressed to Sasha Knight sasha[at]samhainpublishing.com

From Circlet Press
Deadline 31st October 2008

Circlet Press is looking for stories to be published in its series of erotic e-books of all original stories. The reading period begins September 15, 2008 and ends October 31st 2008. All stories for ebook publication will conform to the same standards of quality and sensuality as in all Circlet’s print books. Ebook only publications pay $25 per story, with an additional $25 for any book that goes into print.

See webpage for full submission details.

Like An Animal
Erotic tales of werewolves. We did an anthology with this theme back in 1995 called “The Beast Within.” Explore the animal side of lust, and the attraction of dark magic. Whether you see lycanthropy as a sexually transmitted disease or an intriguing fetish, celebrate sex and desire through this fantastical lens.

Like A Myth
Give us an erotic tale with its basis in non-western folklore or myth. Faraway places and fantasy are the rule, which means avoiding settings anchored in the Western World (Canada, the United States, and the bulk of Europe). There are many other cultures to explore as a basis for fantasy, each with their own rich environment and colorful folklore, that creates the potential for some very engaging erotica. Genie granting steamy wishes in the Arabian desert. Sexy Russian ice princes. Japanese fox spirits. Transport the reader into a whole new world that will leave them gasping for more.

Wired Hard 4.0
Following on from the successful print books Wired Hard 1, 2, and 3, we will be reading for hard-edged erotic stories of men on men. Whether you explore faraway planets, cyberpunk, or space opera, or swords & sorcery, urban fantasy, or something that defies description of genre, if it involves masculine desire for the masculine, we want it. Please note that we expect writers to either be male or to write under male/gender neutral pseudonyms. If you need some examples, ebook editions of Wired Hard 2 and Wired Hard 3 are available for sale.

Planet Boylove
This will be a collection of erotica with a gay male or m/m theme, but its main difference from the Wired Hard books is that female author names and female pseudonyms may be used. It’s no secret that a lot of the gay male pornography, erotica, and romance novels of the past 30 years were/are written by female authors under pseudonyms. Less talked about among traditional publishers is how many readers of m/m fiction may be female. Through the worlds of fanfiction and japanese yaio in translation, though, there is undeniably an audience whose enthusiasm for boylove ought to be recognised and celebrated! Hence, this book. Science fiction or fantasy explicitly erotic stories of m/m please. If you’re really not sure if your story should go in Wired Hard or in Planet Boylove, don’t worry. We’ll figure it out.

Up for Grabs
An anthology of erotic futures where gender is up for grabs. Today thousands of people spend time on the Internet identified with a gender other than the one they were born with. Sometimes they do so for erotic gratification, and sometimes because they get a special benefit for one gender over another. How will people be able to experience other genders in the future? Why will they do so? Would you change genders just for fun? To carry on the family name? To have a child? What if you got a tax break for doing so? What if you could choose to be no gender at all until you went on a date? Would you want to try being both genders at once, or would you rather start over and invent your own? In the future, will it be widely acceptable to be gender queer? Illegal? Mandatory? UP FOR GRABS will be strictly science fiction. Setting your story twenty years in the future does not automatically make it science fiction. We will consider stories that are ‘retro,’ that take on gender stereotypes of the past and give them a future twist.

As mentioned above, reading period for all anthologies ends October 31st, but books may fill up earlier than that if good submissions come in, so please do not wait until the last minute to submit!

Pink Petal Books
Various deadlines

At Pink Petal Books we believe that love is a beautiful thing, and what’s more romantic than receiving flowers? Of course, giving flowers doesn’t have to be romantic, but isn’t it more fun when it is? Pink Petal Books seeks well-written romance stories starting with one character receiving flowers. The flowers can be received for any reason, and they don’t necessarily need to be received from the other major character(s) in the story.

Each themed anthology will contain three to four 15,000-25,000 word novellas released first as individual ebooks, then published together into one print volume. Heat levels in each story need to start at sensual and work up to erotic. On the Pink Petal Books scale these will be rose or cosmos stories, with partially or fully explored love scenes. Language may range from the occasional frank or graphic language to no holds barred.

Our first anthology will be Pink Petal Books Presents: Shifters. All stories need to contain a shifter as either the hero or heroine. Different shifters preferred. Think about animals you haven’t seen in books, or seen very rarely, and use your imagination. You can submit a wolf, but preference will be given to the different animals, so the wolf story should be exceptional and new. Deadline for stories will be July 15 with decisions made by August 1. Electronic publication will happen during our official launch month of October, with print publication to follow in February 2009.

As long as your story starts with a character receiving flowers and fits the theme and sensuality level, there are no other restrictions on genre.

Payment will be 35% royalty on sales price for ebooks (except stories sold through third party vendors, which will be 45% of net (sales price - vendor cut = net). Print books will be our standard 10% royalty split between the three or four authors in the volume.

How to submit: Please email your complete manuscript attached in RTF/Word format to meditor@pinkpetalbooks.com. Include in the body of the email a word count and brief blurb (one or two paragraphs). For more information about us, please read our complete submission guidelines.

Upcoming anthologies are:

Pink Petal Books Presents: Dragons
Submission Deadline: November 15, decisions by Dec 1
Electronic Publication: March 2009, print July 2009

Pink Petal Books Presents: Nature (think Shamans and Druids)
Submission Deadline: April 15, decisions by May 1
Electronic Publication: August 2009, print December 2009

(Director's note:  I'm assuming that they mean July 15 2008, November 15 2008 and April 15 2009 but I'm getting confirmation. I don't know this publisher at all, so normal caveats apply)
