| About: | Equigraphics is a community for all horse-related icons and graphics. Please enjoy the community and be respectful of others as you interact with them here. If you have a problem with a member or with any graphics they have posted, please contact the moderators of the comm at hollowhillsfarm @ livejournal dot com. Icon makers - feel free to post icons, friends only banners, journal headers, desktop wallpapers, or other graphics that you create. Rules for Posting Graphics 1. All graphics must have a horse-related theme to them. If they are about other animals or farm life in general, there is probably a more appropriate place for them. 2. Multi-topic icon/graphics posts are prohibited at this time--ONLY horse-related icons in this comm please. I know that can cause a problem for some icons makers who would just prefer to post a whole bunch of icons, but I personally find it a problem to wade through a bunch of icons to find only a few of the ones that actually refer to the community they were posted to. 3. Please put all graphics behind an lj-cut. You can put up to 3 icons before the cut as a "teaser" to show people what you have available. Any banners or headers MUST be behind a cut. You may post a thumbnail of the image before the cut, but it should be roughly icon-sized. 4. Feel free to post messages about taking requests, if you would like to do so. Other members - Please join and visit the site to see what graphics are available to you. We ask that you do respect whatever crediting rules the individual icon makers post for their icons. You may request icons to be made at this site. Rules for Making Requests 1. Only one request per member per month. If your request was not answered, you may post a second request after one week has passed. (Hope that doesn't sound too rigid. Just trying to keep the comm from getting flooded with requests here.) 2. If you want icons of your own horses, obviously you need to provide a picture for the icon makers to work with. :) The better quality picture, the better icon you will get. Make sure the icon maker can get access to the picture (provide an easy link to the photo(s) at a hosting site that the maker does NOT have to register in order to retrieve it). You may include the photo in your request post, but please put these pictures behind an lj-cut. 3. If you want general icons, please give a clear indicator of what you are looking for (are you looking for jumping horses, or barrel racers, or horses on mountaintops?). Provide images if you can (see #2 above for rules). If you do not have images, clearly state this because this requires much more work on the part of the icon maker. 4. Please indicate if these icons can be shared with other users or not! While people will take icons regardless of what you want them to do, you do need to let the icon maker know if they are free to post them in a general batch or send them only to you (through an email or by placing them into a comment in your original request post). 5. Be reasonable in your requests - don't ask for a large number of icons to be made for you. I'd say 1-5 is quite acceptable. Also, if you don't like the icon you get, please do not be rude to the icon maker. They were kind enough to make you one rather than forcing you to purchase graphics software and learn how to do it yourself. You can always post another icon request later or contact a particular icon maker to make a request of them. Icon contests If there is enough interest, we will run occasional icon contests. Rules for Icon Contests 1. Icons submitted for the challenges must be an original design. Only newly created icons are eligible. 2. Your submission must fit LJ's size limits of 100 X 100, less than 40kbs, and in the format of .gif, .jpg, or .png 3. All submissions must be made as comments to the challenge entry. Also, not everyone will have posting access to create posts but everyone can reply as comments. 4. All entries will be screened. 5. You must have a host that allows hotlinking for your icons you enter. A good one is Photobucket. A lot of icon makers already use it and free accounts are available. When posting, first post the image and then the URL underneath it, like this:  http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s36/squishicons/horse%20icons/Image20.png 6. Your submissions must remain anonymous. This means you cannot use your icon or post it anywhere for sharing until the voting period has completed. 7. No Voting for yourself or asking anyone to vote for you. 8. You don't have to be a member of the community to vote, but you do have to be a registered LJ user to vote. Anonymous votes will not be counted or accepted. 9. You must vote to be qualified to win. If you know you will be out town during the voting, let us know and we won't disqualify you for not voting. If the mod doing the voting doesn't know and your vote is not in, you simply won't win if you should have. 10. Votes will be screened so that only the moderators can see them. 11. Three votes, in order of preference, are permitted unless otherwise stated. (You must vote for three, no more, no less, or they won't be counted.) Example: # of icon, # of icon, # of icon (in first, second, and third place, respectively) 12. Using Icons Entered: You must wait until the contest featuring the icon you wish to use is over and the winners have been announced. The mod posting the "voting" for each challenge will ask that you include the number of icon you would like to use and, when winners are posted, all icon makers with requests will be asked for permission to use their icon. | |
